Is the TASMANIAN TIGER Still Alive? (THYLACINE) Pt.2

- In this adventure I explore the forest of TASMANIA attempting to track down the EXTINCT TASMANIAN TIGER! Since the last Thylacine died in 1936, another one hasn't been found... But are they still alive?
There has been thousands of reports of people seeing these creatures across TASMANIA. With many parts of this place being UNEXPLORED for decades, I believe there could be a small population of them living away from humans in the South-West!
SHOULD I FILM PART THREE?!?!
Reading old newspapers, the thylacine story is so sad. It was misunderstood and the population was under pressure from late 1800’s . I wish you every success. Finding a surviving population would be among the best news in Australia’s history.
Hi Miller. I knew a guy who's brother and mother lived in the wilds of Tassie back in the late eighties. They reported that they found pups and adults deep in the forests. So they could be still kicking around. So cool if they were. If you found evidence, please keep the location to yourself. Thanks for the enthusiastic post. Good Luck.
It is sound sentiment to not publicise any locations rarities are located until adequate protection has been sorted out.
Keeping the information secret from protection authorities however is not useful, it will assist them become extinct.
While experts can make mistakes it does not detract from their successes, and that they have the best expertise and resources to make progress. Some private interests (often soliciting public "donations") advocate secrecy from such authorities. Which is assisting extinction.
Yes never tell scientists nor authorities. Hit men will remove them; because would have to be declared endangered species; land protected. Mineral and logging exploiters would be blocked !!! You see .
I love how as well as entertaining us you are also still respecting the privacy of these beautiful animals. Thank you for bringing these videos to us all miller
To possibly find something that’s *extinct* is just amazing hope you find one!!!!
It's not possible, due to the fact they are, indeed, all gone...
Trail Cameras is the way to capture them mate! Best of Luck, stay Confident!!
I hate how the UA-cam algorithm has screwed him, such a good channel such dedication and hard work going into the videos. Keep up the hard work miller
What are u talking about he has over a million subscribers and also popped up on my fyp
Me too
@@slothman707 hes talking about the view count
@bre malerage the vid literally just dropped... most vids don't rack up much views until after a couple days
@@slothman707 alot of his latest uploads are top quality videos with less than a 100k views
I am really thankful to come across your video. Unlike some loud and exaggerated presenter, you are down to earth, chill and genuinely love animals. I love your passion, your cinematography and humble approach. You earned yourself a subscriber for life !
Wow, thank you! so cool to have you watching my vids - I appreciate it cheers Miller
Tasmanian Tiger has always been interesting to me, I have always remained hopeful they were still around. Tasmania is a large piece of land, I cant wait for you to get back to explore the vast landscape.
Please do part 3. You never know , many sightings over the years., I believe small pockets of Tassie tigers exist. Especially in west Papua seen by local hunters !
That's the only place they might still exist. In fact, I would not be surprised at all if they still exist there, it's _so_ remote and inaccessible, and densely forested.
I hope he finds one
Me to
It'd already be worldwide news if he did 👍 I'm still gonna watch anyway for all tthe other cool shit he'll find 🤣
Besides I think Miller wouldn't let us know if he did find something because he knows the repercussions of actually finding one as far as scientists, poachers, morons etc flooding Tassie to find them 👍
Be prepared for disappointment
No man
Don't be like that
Please do pt 3! I'm hopeful for them to still exist
I don’t say this lightly this series is some of the best on UA-cam, no bs just passion, keep up the adventure for us city folk 😂
These are my favorite Animals tasmanian Tiger ❤
Yes, of course you should film Part Three...everybody loves a mystery! Take Care Out There! 🦘🐨
Hey Miller, I just thought I'd say this, but Papa New Guinea is a good area to look for the Thylacine as there have been many many sightings there and a lot of it is unexplored. Of course you can continue in Tasmania, but if you don't manage to find anything there you could try search in Papa New Guinea. You don't have to search there, just thought I'd let you know.
If you find it I'm inviting you to come to Scotland to look for the Loch Ness monster. I loved your 1st Tiger video 🐅
I kinda feel ripped into two pieces by this. It would be the COOLEST thing ever if it turns out the Tasmanian tiger isn't extinct. I find them extraordinary looking and whenever i watch the footage of the Tassie in the Zoo (Which is sad as fuck), i feel like i'm looking at something Prehistoric. Kinda like you just saw a Smilodon, or dinosaur. Unbelievable feeling and i'm so fascinated.
However, what would happen if it really turns out they aren't extinct? Wouldnt the interest on these skyrocket? What about Poachers, money hungry bastards? The Tassie has been declared extinct for a pretty damn long time now. Imagine the "value" of them if one would be found. I'm a little scared that with todays view on things, it would hurt the Tassie even more to be found, rather than to remain declared as extinct?
Just something that came to my mind. Even though i'd rather have nobody find it, i would still be so excited about it. Ripped feelings 😅
same feeling here
mate
I'm completely fascinated by Tasmanian Tigers (Thylacines). I have just now come across part 2 of your expedition in Tasmania to try and find one. I too hope they are still out there somewhere. Excellent video.
When I saw the wombat not even caring that you were there, I realized there’s probably no thylacine in a 100km radius most likely, maybe skulls in mountain caves tho
mate ive been waiting all week for part 2!!!! best series you've had yet and ive only seen one episode haha!
Thanks Miller for continuing to look for this elusive beautiful animal. I hope you find one in your adventuring. However, I am just so happy to see the awesome terrain that you are exploring along with the great sound effects. You never fail to amaze me and provide an educational learning environment.
Yes please for part 3
Awesome video miller, that place was bursting with game. I have still never seen a quoll in the wild so you did well getting one on your camera first night! Looking forward to teeing up a mission after winter mate cheers.
Pt 3?? Yesss! Ofcourse, it's a no brainer!
Let me be the first person to say how proud I am of you buddy. Yes I am a big fan of you and your channel. I watch it very religiously. I am so proud of you because you did something I never thought you were capable of, and that was... wear shoes the entire time on your video. 😂 So awesome Buddy. ❤
I was waiting every day and I was so excited for pt2, and I just love your videos so much❤
Your vids are getting better and better. Your my fav Aussie content creator by far.
thanks so much Winston - cool to hear from you mate
I love how people think it's crazy that it's still alive when scientists have found animals they thought went extinct 10s of thousands of years ago, keep up the search mate and good luck 👍 🤙
It's amazing how dedicated you are to this. Keep up the good work mate
As much as myself and I'm sure millions of others would love to see them come back. I don't think its going to happen unless we are able to somehow bring them back jurassic park style. The main issue I see with this is that they are marsupials and not canines.
My favorite animal is the Tasmania tiger and I'm just glad a man who cares so much about nature look for these majestical creatures, I hope you find one. You earned a new subscriber friend.
Pt.3 please! ❤ Amazing video and beautiful footage!
Videos like these make me so happy. Thank you so much for doing this, I wish you the best of luck on your journey and I hope that you find a Tasmanian tiger. It would be truly revolutionary
Such a cool series miller keep it up cant wait for pt.3
I've literally been watching these thylacine sighting videos for years and I'm hoping and looking forward to the day someone gets one on camera. I can't imagine the emotions I will go through seeing an animal literally come back from the dead
Hi Miller, what a really interesting and informative video! As usual it was amazing!
I did some assistance work for Murdock uni. I helped set traps to capture creatures along with trail cams, placing cameras deep in the woods always resulted in low numbers caught, however after consulting with a cartographer he pointed to some natural bottle necks in the wild. the number of creatures in our research increase massively.
cool to hear thanks so much
Loved it again Miller. From my experience (since 2017) is that Thylacine do not like IR light. So in my view Trail Cameras are pretty useless, as the only shots of them you'll get are at the edge of the IR field or them darting away (they are extremely fast contrary to beliefs) so they just can't be used for evidence. I had 8 cameras and haven't been forth coming in buying news one (however some one kindly donated me some which I will use). You might ask why they don't like IR light, well they have a membrane on their eyes which I believe has something to do with seeing in IR or as close to red light as possible (the spectrum that we see in) . Lots of sightings of Thylacines account them not being bothered at all by flashlights and car headlights and seem oblivious to it. They are nocturnal (mostly) so seeing in IR would be a huge advantage. It has taken me years to find areas where they frequent (and they still aren't always there - as they'll move with the roos) and I will be staking out during the day time hoping for just a few seconds of daylight footage of them.
The area you seem to be looking in seems good for their habitat, however they love open fields (farm land espically) where they can "mob" up the roos and pick off the young ones as the roos can't jump and bounce through the bush to escape (all done at night or low light). Really looking forward to part 3....I hope you find one.
You're so full of crap. You're really trying to convince people that you know of areas where they frequent, yet you can't get and don't have a single second of footage of one? Or even one photo? There are always people like you commenting on these videos. Bigfoot, ivory billed woodpecker, etc. No matter the cryptid, there is ALWAYS someone claiming to know of an area where they constantly see the creatures, yet they have absolutely no proof. Just making a mockery of it
Have you seen any?
@@felixstaehelin3260 Only glimpses with my own eyes. They are super elusive but their stripes are beautiful! Had better visual of 2x Joey Thylacoleo a few years back started using a gopro on my chest recording all the time....as you see them (Thylacines) when you least expect it. Gopro has a slo mo recording settings which can be more the +120 frames per second..... so hopefully even just a 1 second recording can allow me to get 120 images (not great in low light however). Here's hoping! As without images, people just think I'm talking crap.
Ah, okay - so the reason they're never captured on trail cams is that they (unlike every other marsupial) are somehow sensitive to IR light? You're having a laugh, right? They DO NOT see in infra-red; just another unsubstantiated, dare I say "crazy", claim to explain why they aren't seen. The simplest explanation is the most likely - they're gone...
Finally episode 2 is here!
I'm sick and I'm feel colder than Tasmania in the winter. I live up in North Queensland, wearing a jumper and covered in 2 blankets.
i like your expression of surprise looking at the camera trap at the end :)
I hate that he put us at a cliff hanger but I agree with not putting it online. Good work brotha!
I hope you find one but i also don’t want this series to end!! Videos are amazing
I love this channel. You really are doing something that could be a chase after the wind. It is a tough one to search for an extinct animal. I know I wouldnt do that. It is so cool exploring nature and seeing many different animals while on the journey. This was a cool one to watch. Many anxious moments. Loved this video. Oh yes, and well done on the cliff hanger at the end. I will hang until you show us. 🤓
Bro I would love to see a part 3 & 4 👌 good stuff
whats going on miller. I reckon the tigers are still alive dont give up looking! love the content
Keep Up The Good Work Miller Love The Content
Great video mate, love that stunning countryside too
Can’t wait for the next one ✌🏻
Me da gusto que subas otro video ❤❤❤ últimamente no podía verlos por qué estaba ocupada y eso me ponía mal pero ahora si jsjsjsjs estoy feliz Gracias 😊
This is really exciting, and the scenery is absolutely beautiful! I hope you one day are able to help open many protected wildlife reserves all over the world!
I notice Rob didn’t mention the yips he recorded on I think one of his Jane river trips. He recorded it in the middle of the night. I have heard similar recordings by others which could be Thylacine.
love you Miller.Another great adventure.
i really think that there could still be thylacines out there, love ur vids, looking forward for next weeks one :) - trixie
Miller i started my channel from watching you and a kind words from you once in courage me. But it can be tough, the fish don't always bite weather ECT. But you have a gift i got over my fear of snakes watching you and I don't shoot them anymore. Im an old broken up soldier and can't get to those places. Im sure everyone will agree that your teaching people changing their mind on the environment and your excitement makes me want to get out and make videos no matter how much pain im in or how hot 42 c here in Florida im move a rattlesnake off the road a few nights ago before watching you i would have run over it so yeah man you have a great gift. Just follow your heart and passion and your videos will be great. Thank Miller. And don't forget to have a little fun every day 😁
Great series on these illusive Tigers!
Incredible job - what a stunning film you put together there - beautifully shot - hats off to you
Awesome ! I love your passion and enthusiasm 🤩👌✨
first, i do hope that they exist, will have to watch the full video to find out!
Very interesting video Miller!!! You're brave traveling alone!!
I believe we will eventually find them. Keeping up a good work.
I hope so too!
Wonderful! I've been looking foreward to this all week. You never know what you will find out there and the trail cameras are awesome as well. Hope you do a part three! Have a great weekend, stay safe and God bless bro 🐢 🐢
keep up this series love the vids bro
Love the content.
Miller your such an inspiration and a helpful person. I’ve been watching you for years and I even have your merch hat and signed picture of you from Christmas ❤❤
how cool Ethan - I really appreciate your support and kind words thanks mate
I really hope you find one Miller it will be spectacular 😊😊😊 Good Luck
What's up Miller been looking forward to the video 👍👍👍
Again not notified of a new video, had to search you up.
It seems to be a lot of animals in the area and that they dont seem to be scared of your presence, which perhaps is a bad sign. If there was predators in the area it would be different
The concept that they managed to catch the very last animal in existence is impossible
or is it.......
Miller is the kid laroi of nature. Australian and hella talented 🤙
This is just fire content Miller
This video was soo interesting I reckon there definitely out there keep up these great videos there so interesting 🔥
Great video, Miller! I can always count on an almost zen experience with you; the music is so relaxing. I hope you found what you were looking for, and I agree and respect your decision to keep it private. The animals would be hunted if you gave anything away, right? It looked cold, and thanks for going out in it to bring us up close and personal. The wombat was so cute. Looking forward to seeing you again. Love and all that. xoxo
He should report it to the government though
You keep trying, Miller! I have hope and belief. I always have thought they may be there!
There is so much of this world that the majority of us will never get to see outside of videos others take of them. Thank you for sharing such beautiful scenery with us.
Hoping you’ll find one someday!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I love watching your vids, keep doing the amazing work you do.
Thank you very much!
Miller really enjoyed part 2 look really cold there. I bet finding those bones was exciting? If you didn't get one please don't be disappointed. I grew up hunting even when you know the game is there it can take a while before you see one . I don't hunt anymore .I don't think I would show finding one either. Love the video thank you for working so hard to show everyone all those great places and animals
I would love to see pt.3!
Part 3 please
Love from nowra Australia mate .. keep up the good work
Love the videos! Hope you find one!!
Amazing video yet again 👌
hello miller hello from ireland these are the best vids good luck on the next one
Hello to Ireland mate - thanks for watching cheers Miller
Looking forward to your next adventure. I'm ready for another bull shark video.
Beautiful creatures, I respect keeping Any finds quiet. Man wouldn't benefit their exposure in my opinion.
Great work! It would be interesting to revisit Coastwatcher sights.
Peace brother
Thanks miller for entertaining us while making us fall asleep of a night with the music 😂🫶🏼
Great video, I think we all want that little bit of hope they still exist, I know I do. Best of luck in your search!
I find this rather fascinating. It's good for you to set off and try to find one while getting to explore many places and meeting other people and animals.
It's sad to know that there are animals that have gone extinct because of our actions and it's easy to resent them for it which is understanable but like you said from the previous video, we can only use this to learn from our mistakes to make sure that no other animals suffer the fate by working together to educate people and help them out as our way to make amends. And who knows? Maybe one day, the Thylacine will show up again.
It would be so cool to go with you on these trips, I’ve always wanted to help the world your doing great things keep it up!!!
I luv your vids mate hope ya find that thylacine!
Apologies, got to pause and comment less than a minute in, the aerial shot around 39 seconds, wow! The water looks like a mirror-so incredibly flat! Off topic, I'm in Key West for the month and diving-came across one scorpionfish and while biking along the marina, found blacktop shark pups! So cool! Only about 2 feet long. They are short videos only a minute or so. Cheers- and now, back to watching.
Another awesome video with soothing music and a content creator that takes time to comment and reply to the viewers of his videos. Thank you sir
Nice one Blake thanks for the support mate - cheers Miller
Yes sir. You're awesome person my friend. Come visit FL for a meet and greet 💪🙏👍
Such cool work you are doing
Your highly commendable efforts are in the tradition of the great naturalists and conservationists with a conscience who cared about the survival of life on earth and worked to protect the plants, animals and natural areas from the damaging effects of human activity, and especially those who wrote books and produced films about their field activities in the wild. Peace.
Were all routing for him tonfind one it will be so amazing for him he truly deserves it 😊😊😊😊
This is awesome Miller ❤
thanks so much Freya
I’d love to think the thylacine is still alive & thriving good luck on your search Miller 🙌💗
Great video so far
Amazing video ❤😊
