    Ah yes. Yamaha Music Siren...
My favorite one is the Okayama siren when playing Auld Lang Syne at the New Year's eve. Same song played by Hamamatsu one on it's final performance...

Probably one of the best audio recordings of this specific siren.

When was this marumitsu music siren recorded? I distinctly remember one before the 2000s.

Early generation 1 music sirens sound awesome. The regular generation 1 music sirens sound all washed out because the dampers don't seem to do the best job. Either way, these are awesome.

I assume you're referring to the one at Tokiwa Main Store?
Tokiwa's siren is in poor condition. The motor and bearings are still ok, but it definitely needs a mechanical overhaul of the 10 damper assemblies and electromagnets.
Marumitsu's music siren was in better shape when this recording was made, despite one of its shutters having a slight bounce. Iga Ueno's music siren still has dampers in good condition, so it doesn't sound washed out.

I wonder if it would be possible to physically build something like a Yamaha siren today, even though with the advent of technology and speakers and amplifiers, something like that would be beautiful in both its complexity, referring to the amount of mechanical linkages and parts, and it’s it’s simplicity, because all you really need is a rotor, stator, a motor and some sort of dampener system preferably around the rotor or stator for space saving and to allow the rotor shaft to connect to each individual rotor

It's definitely possible! I'm working on the 3D models for one right now

@@TheMatsushitaMan oh that sounds wonderful, I hope it goes well for you, have you ever thought about 3-D printing that model once it has been completed? As a lot of people tend to print air raid sirens, but you would be the first to print a musical siren
