YES! I feel lucky stumbling upon a D Trussell video I _haven't_ seen. This Covid19 lockdown has me scouring for entertaining/interesting content. I've been a fan of Duncan since day one...the Lavender Hour days. Way back in 2010 or so? I'm now of the opinion that Duncan needs to be WAY more well known. I always thought Duncan was a truly once in a generation unique human being. But it sometimes kills me how unknown he is to the general public. I definitely think he's woven himself into all sorts of interesting projects and people over the years. So...I think he's absolutely known in _those_ circles. But his mind needs to start shooting out into the wider world! Duncan is simply too interesting and intelligent and thoughtful to be known to only a small cadre of uber fans like me. :P

Duncan talking about how Asheville was when he was there going to college...I think in the early 90s...had me feeling kinda jealous.
I live now in Johnson City, TN...about 45 minutes north of Asheville, NC. But I lived in Asheville for a while a few years ago...and it's such a unique city.
In college, THE place to go to for a road trip with friends, smoking weed and wandering around, was Asheville. Then I moved there. Sadly, it's become SUCH a magnet that it's basically been super gentrified. There is definitely still a vibrant young creative intelligent population...that isn't entire gone at all. But...it's not what it once was. When my friends and I would go there in college, it was in the early 2000s...and it was the PERFECT mix of both extremes. Now...it's very commercialized. The Asheville Duncan talks about isn't around so much. But.............West Asheville is a bit different. It's on the other side of the river...and kind of it's own community. I'm kinda aiming to move back...there. West Asheville is a very interesting place...that hasn't yet been overtaken by overbearing commercialism. Anyway....enough ranting about Asheville. Once Duncan started talking about it...it got me going. It's just a very interesting city that I've loved for a long time....

Excellent chit chat to listen in on as I start my day. I've resonated with Duncan for quite some time. Kyle did a great job of participating in the convo while letting his guest have the floor. I'm eager to start following this podcast. Good looks, universe.

I like the way Brian referred to his hippy Christian upbringing as the true christianity kind.. That's the title of the last book Emanuel Swedenborg wrote and Brian sums up Swedenborg's position.. A good synchronicity.

The moment you start enjoying hell is the moment it becomes heaven. Both places exist in your mind and nowhere else. Of you focus on the negative the hell side starts to win. If you focus on the positive you’ll see the light in every situation.
One other thing. Pay attention to the diet of information you feed your mind. If you only consume bad news, from TV or from “friends”, it’s like eating nothing but fast food. You slowly poison yourself. Sometimes you have to protect yourself from things you currently think you value.
