BECKY!!!!! I am literally a professional woodworker. I design and make custom furniture for clients (designer tables and cabinets etc.) and.. I would've NEVER taken this one on... I literally would not know where to start and I would've just said nope and paid the $6k. I am so impressed by how far you've come with your woodworking journey and how resilient you are. Knowing first hand how hard some of this was (even with the right tools), I have an insane amount of respect for you! It came out so so so well, and your idea to glue those dowels instead of shelling out for tambour or fluted detail panels was genius. I'm learning so much from y'all every time you post.
One tip would be next time you want to glue two pieces of wood together, I would suggest drilling dowel holes and shove some dowels in there with glue-- we use biscuits and dominoes when we do glue ups, and it just ensures that the whole panel will stay rigid and not just rely on the glue alone.

Just a heads-up when working with poly-clay: white clay is always way softer than other colors! Keep an eye out for mid or firm clay in the craft stores, it’s usually the same price for the same amount of clay, and usually comes in grays or terracotta/beige. They’re fantastic at holding shape and details.

You did an amazing job. Tips for Polymer clay though. I would have added something inside the hand to grip onto the wood - like wire or something. The hand may slip off if it is just on the flat wood. Also wire into the fingers - that will add longevity. Also for smoothing polymer clay, it works best with isopropyl alcohol instead of water. If you don't want to use that you can pick up clay softener.
However that is me nitpicking as I use clay a lot and have gone through all the ups and downs with it hahaha. Great work.

Loving the fact that you girls now tackle such complex projects! Having Rachel in the team seems to really help with that ☺️ You content became so much more cool because you really challenge yourself! Love all of you and wish prosperity and good luck 🍀😍

I’m actually obsessed with this project. Robots are one of my favorite things ever so I wish I could have one of these guys for my own!

I LOVE IT!! ❤❤It's fantastic, it reminds me of something Simone Giertz would make!
I do have a question about stability - it seemed quite unstable when you were staining it. With such strong magnets, doesn't it wobble when you try to open it? And do you think the popsicle sticks will hold?
Btw, I kept thinking you could try the positioning with Blu Tack when you said that there was no way of knowing without glueing it into place, but I guess it wouldn't hold it strongly enough! Anyway, a beautiful piece, Becky!!
