Hi. Great video. Who told you your monologue was annoying? Pls don’t say that again. I enjoy your commentary and to prove it, am subscribing today! Keep on making your videos! So well put together - story and text.
Oh yay, you went to Jackson’s! That’s the head office branch - their base! They also have a warehouse outside London, but you went to the flagship store (my local here in north London). Correct choice ❤
You missed another huge shop just down the road from Jackson’s called Great Art. though they are a German chain (they are called Gerstaecker in Germany and Le Géant des Arts in France). But they have some stuff other shops don’t have (and vice versa). I find Choosing Keeping ridiculously overpriced. They sell Kissho stuff for 10 times the Japanese price! It’s pretty, though. PS - Great Art also sells Kissho Gansai
Thank you. Couldn’t choose a favorite from these right now. I like it when the staff are really knowledgeable and willing to give insights… even if it saves spending more money.
The art stores in London look absolutely fantastic, and I could absolutely see myself spending a fortune just on water colour paper and gouache alone. Thank you for the tours!
I’ve just got to pause the video and say 🎉 you came up in my feed and wow I love your video. I don’t get the opportunity to shop for treasures in person due to my health so this was AMaZing! Thankyou so much ! Subbed shared and liked. Oh boy oh boy what a store I thought it was only in America. Thankyou Lisa Yorkshire uk xxx
Glad the London Graphic Centre is still there. I thought they go out of business when I stopped going there regularly. I used to buy loads of stuff I had no real use for 😂
Oh! I so love your tour. Thank you so much. If I visit London I’m going to Jackson’s!! You did and excellent job in sharing the experience of an art shop and congratulations on getting totally overwhelmed, art shops are just so so much to take in.
Thank you for your vlog videos! I really enjoy seeing the different art related adventures you have. Wonderful way to brighten up dark autumn times 🫶. Also 'adult red' had me chuckle 😂
im laughing and talking to myself as ive just begun my art journey and ive wanted to go to jackson's art shop for a while....... it is amazing and im crazy excited just watching your video.... so excited.......
Thank you for bringing us with you. I love yr vlog! I buy often from Jackson's & sometimes Choosing keeping online, but If I go to those amazing shops I will probably faint with excitement😄! Looking at their website is hard enough 🙂. So tempting! I have my eyes for YEARS on the full set of Nihonga minerals pigments...hopefully in another life. You seemed to have bought the Jackson's sketchbook, own brand, more in my budget, I'm curious to know if the paper performs well. have you tried them yet? Can't wait for the art haul video. Thank you so much for sharing and yr fun vibes.❤
Thank You for bringing us along. I love the artist supply shops. You can't know much of what is actually available from the online shopping world. I'm in Indianapolis and the only really unique store we have is Dolphin Papers in the Fountain Square art district. But it's over the top cool! Every type of artist papers made from all over the world. I could stay in there all day just touching papers. Would love to visit Kremer Pigments in NY some day. In the last few years Iv'e become dissatisfied with so many orders of oil paint tubes of top brands from the 2 major online art dealers. I have switched to making most of my own from raw pigments. Kremer has been great to me and so has Natural Earth Paint out of Oregon.
Thank you for sharing. We have nothing like that in NM-USA. I enjoyed your video and I would love to move there and just take in all the materials/tools etc.
As always great video, thank you ! I loved choosing keeping when i went there two years ago and now i want to go to jackson’s 😍 your videos always make me want to go to art stores haha i discovered sasabe in osaka thanks to you i almost broke the bank there last summer ! Cant wait to see what you’ll visit in december !
I enjoy the art store tours and I enjoy your art as well. Thanks for sharing your journey. Tich you should never feel out place as an artist. Just make the art you love and trust the journey. Many artist have day jobs even famous ones (Check your art history) artists with day jobs do not make you less of an artist. Embrace what you love and carry on!
Excellent video, I thoroughly enjoyed it. I will be headed to the Dalston Hackney branch of Jackson’s Art shop as the one in Fulham was woefully understocked and quite small.
I really like the Jackson's sketchbooks that you picked up. They're nice for playing around in. Also, I hope you can make it to Saiun-do. I was there a few months ago and it was a beautiful little shop. I got some gansai watercolors and a small packet of pigment but I wish I had gotten more. The staff speaks very limited english so I had to use Google translate to communicate with them. Also the entrance is a sliding door, I didn't realize this at first and spent some time pacing the front of the store trying to figure out how to enter. I felt so silly. :P Thank you for taking us along and sharing your art adventures!
I can look at art shops all day! I need to make it over to Jackson’s at some point. My usual haunts are GreatArt on kingsland rd ( you were close, i thought you were going there 😂), sometimes cowling &. Wilcox which is five minutes away from GreatArt, and London Graphic Centre near seven dials. I’m very envious of you going to japan, i was in Sekeido in February but it was before i really got into art so i just got some bargain Kuretake!
11:07 Artgraf Tailor chalks are actually pigment blocks, there is no chalk in them. They just have the same form as tailor chalks. They are very pigmented and I really like them.
Yeah, I would spend way too much in Jacksons. It's nice to see the pplace I've bought so much from over the years, although I get most of my brushes from Rosemary's now. They have some great supplies and a great website.
Oh my, can you imagine living in one of the houses next to Jacksons? I would love to visit the store and would be lost in there for hours. I can peruse their website for hours. :)
Okay update just got back from Jackson’s store … spend wayyyyy too much but I’m so happy…. Thanks again because I was unaware there was one in london where I live .. ❤
😂😂… and that was only the Putney branch… which was easy to get to… .. I know I’ll visit the Shoreditch /. Dalston branch sometime… which is the Enter st my own peril … 😂 Putney branch was small but still great ❤
how have I just realised you are half Belgian??? I spent part of my childhood there and still have immediate Belgian family. My favourite art shop in the entire world is in Brussels! Schleiper. It’s the largest store I have ever visited - larger than any London shop!!
@@pawshire I think they have more than one store in Brussels - the one I mean is the one on Chaussée de Charleroi, which was their head office. They are going to be opening a large store in Anderlecht too. The others I think are smaller. But the main one is MASSIVE and so well stocked! Every time I visit my family I end up spending a fortune on art supplies! If you like Neocolors, they sell them for really cheap, though! And their paper selection is amazing! They just have *so much*
I recently started a UA-cam channel (not on this account) and I really should be doing this myself, hahahahaha. Sharing is caring, though (the whole point of doing UA-cam)!!Hope you enjoy!!!😊

Technically painting surfaces shouldn’t be mixed with living organic material or moisture shifts. I was surprised by the open door and plants at jacksons
