Oh my goodness the console stereo...!!! This is so interesting, how clean cut the men were, how mannerly everyone was...and the womens' hair -dos...I can't imagine the amount of work that must be to get your hair looking like that.
My mother had those in the early 1970s, she loved them, but my father made her leave them when we moved. Fast forward 30 years when I returned to the old homestead, and they were still utilizing them!
OMG, I hadn't yet seen the part where Jane says to her husband, "you are OUT". He looks pretty ridiculous taking that "stuff" from her. SHE would be the one OUT!
The show was actually “broadcast“ in color in those ABC network regions that had the capabilities. As ABC was late to the ball game on color broadcasts compared to other networks, there were many regions that did not have that capability. So technically the announcement at the beginning of the game is correct but in reality, you probably saw it in black-and-white
Ralph was easy going it seems so nothing bothered him. Marriage probably worked as it is a perfect partnership with Ralph not taking anything too serious.
I loved this show; especially in the 1960s when the Boomers were all so young! And with commercials no less; dig that groovin' 'Stang at ~10:58! Who would have believed in 1968 that the Mustang would still be manufactured over 50 years later?! Oh my, at 26:23 just after Dave and Eileen won the game not one of the other couples clapped! Shame! 😉
The intro said they met in beautician school. She was the teacher. The first thing that came to my mind is that he plays for the other team, and thus Jane is not a happy camper.
@@SweeTeaNLemon True, but actually, she is still tame compared to today's women. 🤣😃 She knew to control herself in public, but God help Ralph, in private. 😨😲😤💀
No, there were areas where it was broadcasting color but back in 1968 on the ABC network, they were few and far between. So the announcement at the beginning of the show was technically correct
That husbands looking into a talking mirror bit was interesting. I think the wives were projecting. Women tend to be overly negative on themselves while men tend to be overly positive. A total shlub of a man will still flex his muscles, stroke his beard, and think himself god's gift to women while looking in the mirror. While a beautiful woman will focus on all her little imperfections and think herself unworthy. Kinda sad in both cases. If only we could find a healthy balance.
I need those Rubbermaid Space Makers in my life!

It wasn’t easy, believe me! 😂
Well damn, I want those under the counter space makers in the first commercial!!
I thought they were cool too. No Amazon back then.
ND
I do too , brilliant space savers .

Jane was a real piece of work. Poor Ralph’s life must be miserable.
Is say Jane divorced. I hope they did for his sake . She was a nasty piece of work.😤
I think she was just nervous.
Usually, some couples ham it up for the show's rating. But this chick seems to be a b'tch n a half 😢
Maybe she's disappointed at not winning... I hope that's it.
Ralph put up with it because she's beautiful.
Damn that space maker is awesome!! I bet they would sell today too.
Poor Ralph. I could predict that marriage didn't last.
OMG, I hadn't yet seen the part where Jane says to her husband, "you are OUT". He looks pretty ridiculous taking that "stuff" from her. SHE would be the one OUT!
Bob is still around. He should do a show with theses old contestants. I wonder how many are still around.
Or how many are still married
The intro says "From Hollywood in colour ..." but the episode is in B&W. Great, I love the old black and white footage.

Love the Bossa Nova music 🎶
I love black and white TV!!!
All we had when I was a kid was a black & white Ford Philco TV set, we even watched the moon landing on it in '69.
Ralph needed to leave her then and there! 😅
Ralph was easy going it seems so nothing bothered him. Marriage probably worked as it is a perfect partnership with Ralph not taking anything too serious.
Wow! These people are 70-80 years old now.

Boy wife #3 whoa, take it easy lady, it’s just a game and supposed to be fun!!
She was funny. Ralph didn't take her seriously.
#3 DUDE RUNN !!!
The intro said they met in beautician school. She was the teacher. The first thing that came to my mind is that he plays for the other team, and thus Jane is not a happy camper.
Wow. Jane was a piece of work.
#3 Jane, should never have gotten married. I'd divorce her if I were him. She acts with an evil spirit.
I pray he left. He was cute and just seemed so nice. He definitely deserved way better than her.
Couple # 3 was definitely divorced fairly soon after this aired.
Doubt it. Ralph doesn't take her seriously.
The Newlywed Game always had the cheapest grand prizes.
I like the commercials too.
No 3 is scary..I wonder if they are still together!!
I bet the couple that won stayed married...they were the best acting
The thumbnail looks a little like George Jones.
Look at those hairdos 👩
That's the way they wore their hair back then. Big hair
Jane - AKA " BRIDEZILLA ! 😮💨
I wonder if couple #3 is still married? She looks unpleasable.
After all these retro adds I want to watch Madmen again! 😃
I loved Mad Men...Don Draper!
I loved MadMen...i might have to watch it again!!!
9:50
Cute little commercial.
🥓 & 🥚 🍳
The Ajax commercial at 00:10:48 is the best part. 😁
18:44 what an Ass!!!!😮
At the start, narrator says, “The Newlywed Game in Color”. Where’s the color?
#3 wife is BIPOLAR and abusive 😢
yea, I bet she would have been a real joy to be married to for the past 50 years.
Nah...she was just born in the wrong era. She'd fit right in nowadays 😁
@@SweeTeaNLemon True, but actually, she is still tame compared to today's women. 🤣😃 She knew to control herself in public, but God help Ralph, in private. 😨😲😤💀
Couple #3 is the best looking !
Poor Ralph…❤I will take him
I find the women much more interesting than the men usually are on this Game show.
Wow Jane seemed so abusive.. yikes. Hope he found someone nicer.
Bet Wife #3 was a handful
This Episode Was Broadcast In Black And White Instead Of Color It Contains Original Commercials
The show and the commercials were originally telecast in color on ABC; this is a black and white kinescope.

Bride no.3 looks like June Nelson David Nelson’s wife

I agree...massive projection.
Lighten up jane geez 😅
Early 1968
Cheap gift for the winner! 😢
Jane was funny.
Bet they're all deceased
Joyce Anthony-Huff Divorced not deceased.
@@debrak8521 some are deceased.
Boy, that was nice to say.
@@cindyrussell1581 because this show was from 54 years ago. That would mean many of them could be in their 80's
