So anyway BoL 4 is easily the best C slot for any enemy phase unit. thank you IS for guaranteeing it would be overturned by having a counter to fatal smoke built in, very cool. My favorite part is that only one unit needs to have it for save units to benefit from the effect. My least favorite thing about emblem ike was that he only healed after the fight when I wanted to heal before the fight too. Now he just needs to full heal every time he gets hit.
Tanks are really hard to balance and more often should be balanced against rather than for. Because nothing is more likely to cause people to quit the game than unkillable units. Remember not everyone likes playing meta and only care about their favorite charcters who might not have got an alt in a while. So I think these skills have infinitely more game killing potential than burn damage ever did.
Feud skills will block the aura portion of BoL4, but if the BoL user is in combat with the Feud user, the skill still trips. Of course, it's generally not worth it to run Feud skills since their scope is limited to just one color (and good luck trying to cover all possible color combinations), and you're generally better off running C skills that are more universally applicable. I recommend legendary Corrin. Brave corrin is meant to be a far save, and there aren’t many options you can run in her slot c since she’s also an armor. Legendary Corrin is more flexible with her c slot as an infantry unit. you could put spd smoke 4 or incite Atk/Spd. So she can make good use of bol4. Is it her best slot c?I don’t know

These are some options that I think could work If running Gambit, give him aether since gambit needs a high cool down for that extra true damage. Better with a cool down charge. If you’re going to run potent 4, i would recommend having No Quarter as a special since it pierces damage reduction. Potent is an aggressive play style since it allows for a third follow up, i wouldn’t recommend this if you want him to be able to tank a bit. Vital Astra could work as an alternative. Laguz friend could possibly work, I’m not sure how well it’d work with Roy, but you should definitely stack the flat damage reduction with Godlike Reflexes while also getting the damage reduction piercing from it. Close Call is up to you, you could run an offensive special or a defensive one

In that case, i’d recommend this build for him assuming you have the skills available for him A slot: Atk/Spd Finish 4 for the healing you’ll get per hit with godlike reflexes B Slot: Laguz Friend 4 for the flat DR and well as DR piercing while also getting the cooldown charge jump, but keep in mind the cooldown jump only happens if the enemy initiates combat. Slot C: You have a couple options, you can do spd smoke 4 for more DR, Atk/Spd Oath 4 for more stats and warping, or something like Panic Smoke 4 for inflicting and doubling stat penalties Special: Godlike reflexes since it stacks with Laguz Friend and you get the healing paired with the Slot A skill Sacred Seal: You can run pretty much anything that increase atk/spd like an ideal 3 skill, atk/spd form, blade session 3. More defensive ones include Atk/Def finish 3, spd def ideal 3, or even mystic boost 3 for more healing. Keep in mind fatal smoke will stop the healing

While i like the skill for my tanks i can see this being frustrating to deal with. Plus now emblem ike basically has no weaknesses now. Since his main weaknesses are countered by this skill existing. Also not a fan of it completely invalidating pre combat damage. While it was overturned on some units i personally liked it as a new mechanic. Now it might as well not exist while this skill is in play. Wish they went for a partial counter so that it still had a use. Guess we need super fatal smoke now.

A skill who negate a game mecanic his a stupid, toxic and boring design. It's a unpopular opinion I know, but burn damage effect was a real good thing for the meta. It's far more better to have an offensive metagame rather a defensif one

Now we have a meta where anything that isn't BoL 4 gets obliterated instantly, and offensive units obliterate anything that isn't BoL 4.

You may not like the mechanics but objectively it's more of a beneficial thing than a negative one

It only negates 50% of deep wounds, if the duo lyon had fatal smoke or askr was inflicted with deep wounds, askr would've perished.

Feud works to stop the supportive side, it doesn’t stop the self side.
