FOR ANYONE WATCHING THIS. DO NOT APPROACH A CAKE THAT FAILS FOR ATLEAST 30 MINUTES AFTER LIGHTING IT. EMBERS CAN REIGNITE THE CAKE AT ANY TIME. I HAVE SEE IT HAPPEN UP TO AN HOUR AFTER THE SHOW. SAFETY IS NUMBER ONE PRIORITY.... STAY SAFE PYROS.
That's definitely good advice.
I will add that a good pyro should also have a *metal* garbage can for everything after the show.
I leave all the burnt fireworks to sit in the can away from everything els for about 2 days after a show.
Every year there seems to be people who toss them in a plastic garbage can in their garage 5 minutes after they go out, just to wake up to a fire in the middle of the night..
A metal garbage can is definitely a must have for a pyro.

Now that's a good idea , you could sell them at a cheap price , so those on low incomes had something to use specially if they have kiddies

😂😂 that was awesome 🤘🤘 in 26 years of lighting shit off. I personally have never had a cake not light off any shots. However if that does happen, you bet your ass I'm gonna make sure to collect those and when I have enough, make my own cake with them.

I used to save the tubes and fill with black powder cap the top give few days for the plug to harden they make killer firecrackers!

If it's just single tubes i do what you did but if it's a whole section of a cake i cut it open to find the fuse break, insert a piece of green fuse and light it and it always works!

Me and my friends used to purposely take apart cakes to have single shots lol especially when we didn’t have much money for fireworks
It’s like buying mini artillery kits for cheaper and most of the cake shots were better

that’s pretty cool! I personally wouldn’t do it, because I don’t have any fuses. I wish I had some hobby fuse just in case a cake doesn’t finish so I could just turn it into some mini single shot tubes. I also don’t like taking fireworks apart and modifying them, but this isn’t that bad of a modification so that would be alright. Great video!
Aslong as you are not starting to press your own stars without knowing what kind of power and chems you are working with it should be fine haha XD. Oh and never press flash powder yourself btw it could explode from the pressure

I light a few cakes last night. I went in my field and found a few shells that didn’t light. It rained so all the tubes got soaked and now unusable. How can I light off a few that I have saved up.

What are the rules in USA if a cake refuses to fire all shots? Can you get refund? In Finland, and I guess in Europe in general, you'll get full refund if the cake doesn't go all the way. That's why they always have a reserve fuse. I had over 100€ ($110) cake that failed in the last shots..reserve fuse didn't work --> full refund.
