I agree and always ride with the chinbar down, but I use the Shoei Neotec II flip lid instead of a full face. I also always ride with earplugs under my helmet. Comms are integrated. Extra protection from my Helite Turtle airbag vest, so in case of a crash, airbag and helmet should fixate my neck.
Just look at a graphic that shows the percentage of head injuries broken down by area. The jaw is the only area of the head that has double digit percentages of injury. I like my jaw, that chinbar (even on a budget helmet) makes a world of difference. Full face helmets are the only choice for safety conscious riders.
Full face helmet saved my husbands life.. tboned , he flew and landed on his head.. skid and ended up in a ditch. He was wearing a full face $100 Bilt Raptor.. backpack , work boots and leather jacket.. I highly recommend compression tank tops as well, we use under armor heat gear ones.. although his jacket was zipped and buttoned , it came up a little on his waist and his tank top actually took the road rash. When he was tboned it did permanently break his foot in multiple places , however because he wore full gear, he is alive today. Long story short wear your friggin helmets 😂
I just bought a DOT Full Face Helmet from TAOMOTOR for my E-Bike. It's so much better and warmer coz I live where it's cold in the winters. I have two other DOT helmets, but not a full face, they are both open face, one with a face shield. I was using them for summer time, the face shield one for when it was raining, but now it's getting cold. I was surprised that my full face helmet is lighter and have better wide angle view for side views than my other two helmets. Thank You for this video 😎
Yellow jacket flew up my right sleeve 2 days ago.. at highway speeds. Stung me several times.. I discovered that I had the skill to go 60 and slap the hell out of my right arm at the same time.. brown zone!!
On peripheral view; I ride a cruiser bike and have full face Bell helmet. I use a clear shield and sunglasses. I have several pairs of sun glasses but have found that the more traditional frames, the more horn rim type frames (Blues Brothers style), the outer edge of the frame cuts off a chunk of peripheral view. Now I only wear the more streamlined, sports style frames that more wrap around the eye, on the bike. Noticeable improvement on peripheral view and easier to finagle into the helmet too.

If you're getting on my bike its full gear or walk. Can't understand why anyone would pay full price for a half helmet!
Open face helmets to me is the equivalent to wearing shorts and flip-flops on a motorcycle.
Madness.
What microphone do you use for that helmet?
