Central "serials" ident: and jump into Sons and Daughters
At the start of this clip is the last few seconds of the Thames series 'Gems'.
In-vision announcer is Vivien Stuart, she was with Central from 1982 to circa end of 1985; more associated with her time at BBC Radio 2
This is the afternoon of Friday 11th January 1985. The Putney flats explosion happened the previous morning on Thursday 10th
Episode 270 of Sons and Daughters - Central were the furthest ahead with this serial.
It seems that Central (as with Granada) were not very keen on the “7 Network Presents” appearing at the start of the S&D episode.
Central were 25 episodes ahead of their northern rival Yorkshire for Sons and Daughters. The gap remained the same for most of the mid 80s as they both screened it on the same days until Central increased to five a week in 1987.
Yes, roughly two months or 8 weeks difference.

Airplane on tracks!
Never knew some regions didn't have the "7 Network" legend included. All episodes of SAD had their first ITV airing on Central and their second on YTV. Thames/Anglia/TT maybe next in late 1985/early 1986?
I think they just added in late to avoid the 7 Network presents. Had the 7 Network logo been at the end of the opening credits they would have very likely left it in. YTV never missed the 7 Network Presents on its screenings. Same as Tyne Tees.
@@jackmeadows7777 I saw a Thames end credits where the credits faded out before the copyright details/7 Network production caption. Some regions I believe did that with TYD too. Always found it strange that TYD never had a 9 Network endcap considering SAD and PCBH had 7 and 10 end captions.
When was the "Serials" ident introduced and dropped?
