Man, I miss Blake... he straight up could beat the best in a mano y mano. As a fan, it was super weird when it seemed like he just "disappeared." He was a HUGE talent. Hats off to Rocky Mountain ATV/MC Team for giving him a ride... I can only imagine what he would have done with a full factory ride? What a shame. I hope we learn what really happened from him.
Unfortunately, The Rocky Mountain ATV/MC team didn't pay him close a million dollars over a 2 year period and when he brought it up, they denied it, and it turned into an out of court settlement with a NDA attached.
However it worked out, he was doing well with a couple 2nd places in outdoors in 2020, but according to rumors, he wasn't getting paid. Neither side has shared their story, but the team is no longer operating.
Word was he stopped racing because the team didn’t pay him almost a million dollars from Supercross which they owed him. Like $900,000. I never heard anything of the lawsuit though
@@andrewvance965 probably a non disclosure agreement on the settlement to prevent the company from future damages. I’d sure love to know the story front Blake! One of these podcasts needs to get him on, even if he can’t go into detail it would be nice for fans to catch with him
I’ll probably get roasted for the comparison 😂 but his body language on the bike & aggressiveness reminded me of JS259 outdoors! The way Blake would air out jumps and brake tap. He was an extraordinary exciting rider to watch!
Lawsuit that was settled with a nda so nobody on either side can talk about it. Seems like butler brothers wasn't paying Blake and in order for him to get some of the money he felt owed he had to legally agree to keep quiet.
@@motofevermedia1 I can understand that part of the MX business. But did Blake just not want to race any longer ?? Was over just everything ? 🤷♂️ He definitely had speed and talent . Thanks 👍just wish we had got to see more of him .
@ronaldtravis970 yeah he was towards the end of his career and after going through all of that I think he was completely over it. There wasn't any good openings on any teams at the time anyway so if he wanted to come back it would've most likely had to have been on his own bike and his own program which isn't really worth it especially when you've been on solid teams your whole career.
Really fun racer to watch. Sort of like Marchbanks or Ferrandis in the sense that he’s a guy that could take tier 2 machinery and mix it up with the best of them. He got a win also right? Always a fun guy to root for back in the day!
Something was going on behind the scenes about Blake Baggett being owed money from Sponsors and he had a slimey Agent who took a good bit of his money. People don't understand he had alot going on and he took that anger out on the track that's for sure. Glad to see him back riding again #elchupacabra
Enjoy everyone’s comments about Blake. I’m older and he just disappeared and should have tried to find out the scoop on him. Wherever he’s at or what he’s doing, I hope he’s happy!
Motocross lost when Bagget retired. As cool as Tomac was in beast mode, it was still Baggets spectacular passes that were the best thing in motocross. Whether it was the jump into the texas 12 pack or around the outside bowl turn at thunder valley, those were the moments you jumped out of your chair.
How can talent such as Blake’s be passed by due to contract agreement? I’m sure there’s a reason, however it’s hard to understand from a rabid fan’s perspective. I Miss Blake, he was magical on the track! Dammit!
Its weird i sometimes kind of forget watching Bagget for years with the number 4.. just never felt like his number. I will probably feel the same way about Sexton in 10 years. 4 will always be Carmichael especially because he never ran the number 1. Though its weird because i feel like Plessinger is number 7. I dont fkn know haha Freddie Noren sure as hell aint number 22 😂
Dean was dirty back then. I remember him knocking Tomac to the ground and the next race Tomac flipped him over the bars. Nobody was as dirty as Josh Hansen he dominated 250 SX but was to busy trying to crash people he blew the 250 SX title.
@zacharyradford5552 yup Eli retaliated hard on him. Pretty sure it was the same race. Think that move made everyone leary about trying to get rough with tomac. Ended Wilson's season. Didn't feel for Wilson at all.
I understand your thoughts however the AMA allowed the Butler brothers to rip him off for $900,000. Then remain a team. I am sure Baggets ATTNY told him not to discuss his case.
This is the dude i miss the most.
Absolutely. Blake is my favorite rider and that pass @2:56 is just one reason why
He was such a beast on that 450! Maybe someday we'll hear what he's got to say about his departure from the sport.
He's tied up in a NDA. Why do you think he's never spoke about getting screwed out a lot of money? He legally can't.
@@MichaelAMyers1957 That's why I said 'someday', bud. ;)
I heard the team split and they owed him over 200k. But who knows if it’s true
@@josephchambers5400 I heard they were into him over 500k
@@MichaelAMyers1957whats NDA?
Baggett and Canard, both underdogss that i miss a lot in the tracks!
He was a badass outdoor rider
Big mad we all got robbed of seeing the tail end of this man’s career because it would have had some more amazing moments.
The real serious beast mode. Nobody more Beast like in the second half of the Moto than El chupacabre
Whenever I see clips of this guy I always wish I was watching back then
Loved watching him ride! 100% effort with an energy that builds when others started to fade I always thought!

The team is what fucked him over.
@@lw3918 Sad. 😪
There was something missing when he left. Such a shame.
Miss his racing.
Bring back Blake
The beast mode generation.
He was so fast on the KX250 outdoors. I love how he always rode 110%
baggett and canard my favs since 250s
Ill never forget blakes end of the moto charges on that 250
Can someone please tell me what he is doing nowadays? He was always an awesome rider especially his jumping ability!!!
Working construction and getting his boy into riding/racing
His dad was very wealthy and a business owner so if he isn't taking advantage of that idk what he's thinking

Especially that year at Freestone jumping into the Texas Twelve Pack. Insane.
He got hosed. And I miss having him out there racing.
How did the industry just let this Guy disappear? Like James , just gone … What a brutal business.

Do the underrated forgotten legend, pourcel. He was a top 5 rider but never really got the spotlight compared to everyone else.
I remember seeing him at high Point one of his last years he raced and he tomac and anderson were worlds faster then the rest
I miss him, he gave all he had. Hell if a rider.
El Chupacabra, he even had the El Chupacabra's Ranch
So he didn’t get paid for his last season of Supercross allegedly. $900,000 unpaid. 😮 Ouch
He was so fast and had crazy good endurance
Man, i miss Baggett
Damn shame what happened to Bagget, was always a fan of his raw speed and determination. He should still be out there

Another great career cut short because of financial issues. 😔
comeback?
His battles vs Dean Wilson on the Kawasaki we’re the best ❤
blake was always my favorite he would have had a lot of success if what happened didn't happen :(
dirrerent era with nicole and carrie on the podium
I miss them too 😢
where is he now ?
I miss Baggett a great rider would of got a championship if he had that big factory ride. Baggett and Trey get riders

I heard the Butler brothers didn't pay him, so he retired.
He had a fight with RM ATV. And left. Didnt get payed.
The only guy able to make the KTM look good through a set of whoops...
Baggett / Tomas were my favorite riders to watch. He just kinda fell off always wondered what happened
Did they ever pay him?
Him and ando hate each other I miss those battles
I think I heard that the family business may be more lucrative
blake bagged, max markolf both got screwed by the team
THEY STOLE $900,000. FROM HIM
So did he just quit?
Yeah he was a little cocky but damnit when he was on he was fun to watch race!

Always liked Baggett but he just looks wrong with the number 4. That’s for Carmichael and only Carmichael.
shoulda stayed with mitch payton😭
This tells us nothing new.
What a waste of talent..just love to see this guy riding!!!
