The Concerts in China, that was the first time I heard Equinoxe 7, and I fell in love with it immediately as a little kid. I still think that recording is the best!:)
If you listen to this version of equinoxe 7 in the car 🚙 on cd etc , you get a really clear listen of the percussion at the start and it is just genius ... just basic sounds but outstanding......

Very pleased I found this as I have the whole video on VHS but really sorry to hear the Houston / Lyon Concert is not going to be released on DVD. (might just have to make a back up of it then onto DVD!!) IMO this is the best live version of Equinoxe 7 even though I really like the Concert Pour Tolerance 94 version (at which I was there to hear it first hand. Thanks for uploading and sharing.
the bassline intro on Equinoxe Part 7 is awesome. I'd love to know what synth he uses for this. The concert video shows Dominic Perrier playing it on a memorymoog. But Equinoxe was released in the late 70's, the memorymoog didnt come out until the early 80's. Why oh why hasnt ALL of Jean Michel Jarre's concerts been given the remastered DVD treatment !
Its quite obvious here that Dominique was playing the bass arp melody, Dominique and Francis usually did most of the carrying while JM switched the lights on and off .

If you were at the Concert Pour Tolerance, you'd know it took place in 1995...
Unfortunately most of it isn't live, just the percussion and drums.

the bassline was made by an unique instrument called "the Matrixsequencer" made by Mchel Geiis specially for Jarre...
The equinoxe bassline on part 7 was made with an ARP 2600 and the GEISS matrisequencer

@JMJarvinenStudio Jean-Michel played the bass with a Roland JV-90 in Paris (1995). Check out the video on UA-cam ;-)
