Meanwhile western media : "ukranian" lancets are also expertly taking out "Russian" leopard2 tanks. 😂😂😂 Sticking to the current video though: yes, those DIY drones with small grenades are ABSOLUTELY penetrating and destroying that HRS armor on those tanks.
I mean, this war seems very much to be a trial and error by offensive forces. Where attrition or surprise allows movement in certain areas. Surprise is what allowed the initial Russian advances, so too the Kharkiv counteroffensive by Ukraine. Simultaneously, attrition led to Russian victories at Severnodonestk and Soledar, and in Ukraines case taking back Kherson. What these drones seem to do, and we do have visual evidence for this, is make it to where tanks can not only be spotted and attacked by kamikaze drones, but gain visual or laser identification for other drones in the air, like lanclets do, or give artillery the means to target them. Like how Russia's armored columns last winter were halted in Vuhledar and Kreminna, and so too Ukranian columns in the south. So like, pointing out an "oooo, gotcha" to the use of similar Russian advancements in this field begets the effective use these drones have time and time again proven they have against both sides offensive forces. Whether it be for distraction, getting lucky hits in, or overwhelming the force that's attacking with too much at once, let alone the damage these weapons do to infantry, these drones have proven their effectiveness, and use, so far, in spite of their small warhead capacity. What will be interesting will be how one side, or the other, overcomes this new breed of weapon. Or, perhaps, this is just a sign of technology/use of technology outpacing tactics and weapons to break a stalemate. Akin to WW1, in a way.
@@josephhernandez5386 you need to READ the comment carefully and what it pointed to CAREFULLY before typing this looong diatribe. Also, vuhledar was halted but the equipment not destroyed and later recovered (judging by the full video and bit edited down clip spread by ukr mod). Kreminna offensive is difficult for armour because of the vast forest belt, and ground troops having perfect cover for air recon. It's not "haulted" . In fact RF pushed back any and all ukr offensive in that area to its initial position and has gained ground in the forest regions in recent months. RF didn't have any proper air defence (short and medium) in place in South and had vast gaps in radar coverage last year. A problem they have since solved and their EW equipment has been successfully jamming and intercepting smart bombs, drones and missiles so much so that even western analysts and generals have begun whining about how ineffective their weapons have become against RF EW. Russian air defences regularly shoot down ukr drones venturing too far into the frontline..... Yes you hear news of ukr sending drones into Russian territory for PR and distraction from their astronomical losses on frontlines, but how often are those drones ACTUALLY successful???? Not many ..... Once in a week or 2 weeks maybe. Meanwhile RF drones and missiles regularly strike all the way to the lviv region. Drones have changed the battlefield for sure, especially immediate frontline surveillance against the infantry but the roots of warfare tactics still hold.....trench and artillery warfare still reigns supreme as is evident, air superiority still matters and decent air defence is still important. Drones have merely augmented these aspects and added to their effectiveness.

@@BJJISTHEGAYPARTOFMMA One of the reason Ukraine has a high armor attrition rate when breaching Russian defense lines is because NATO doctrines for breaching dates from the 1980’s and the Gulf War. Back then, NATO teachings expected 25 minutes from the moment a field was breached to the moment counter-battery arrived. Yet, with the advent of both reconnaissance and loiter drones, that timeframe is non-existent, and it is genuinely putting a drag on Ukraine, and Western nations too. These drones are revolutionary.
I knew this was going to happen back when they began making these commercial units. I was worried. Wonder what kind of regulations exist already or may be generated to control this. A hobbyist toy turned weapon of war.
I dont remember the exact number but I read that Russia already invests something like $3 billion in drone manufacturing and is currently building a factory in Russia to mass produce the iranian Shahed drones. Ukraine recently announced to invest around $1.08 billion into drones. Ukraine is a poor country but I think they still have to prioritize this issue. Im worried $1 billion isnt enough. Id like to see Ukraine invest at least as much as Russia into drones. Drones will be a major factor in this war and the side with more and better drones will have an advantage. And to all Ukraine supporters: Prioritize donating to groups and units that focuse on drones. Thats what I do. Yes humanitarian aid and conventional weapons etc are important too but drones are in my opinion the most important issue in this war.
How about we have a competition that brings the best of Western minds to see who can build the best / most cost-effective military drone, with the winners getting a large award funded by donations, with people like Star Wars actor Mark Hamill and others leading the effort.
Russia converted an old mall into assembly plant for drones. They are using 100s of kamikaze drones per day. Many other plants are operating. Russian drone production and innovation is huge.
The Russians are now the ones with the most effective FPV drones. The Lancet 3 these Ukrainian drones just look puny and are unlikely to do any major damage to a tank.
When in position, on site, russian tanks have a camo net above them and many drones explode in that net, with little or no damage for the tank. Some 'beautiful explosion' vidéos are failed attacks.
I live in Bulgaria - yesterday I had an avert for a $10,000 drone that can carry a 15kg payload for 10 hours, its controlled via satellite [presumably starlink]. That means I could load it with bombs, fly it to Ukraine, bomb a tank and fly it home again called a "YANGDA Sky Whale Max Hybrid Heavy Lift Long Endurance VTOL Drone" The point I am making is - the whole shape of war has changed. Me a random guy with $10k can secretly take part in a war in another country. That is crazy.
That type of drone would be shot down before it can do any type of meaningful damage. The only benefit of these fpv drones is they are small and agile.
Drones provide massive cost / benefit over tanks and even artillery. I'm talking well over 1,000 fold cost / benefit over say a 4 million dollar tanks depending on the drone type and method of deployment. i.e. kamikaze vs anti tank grenade dropper. Lesser cost / benefit advantage over artillery, however still significant over a 2 million dollar Howitzer standard piece.
You can't fight a war with these, just like you can't just win a war with artillery, otherwise why are both sides still using tanks? Most tanks are lost to commercial drones or artillery though.
Notwithstanding that, the cost/benefit for drones case is immense. Ultimately drones could outperform arty as kill all machines. They just have to locate arty and destroy them. As long as they are significantly cheaper, drones will ultimately outperform all battlefield vehicles, except perhaps anti air. However head to head pitted against each other, drones still outperform arty. It would come down to tactics. You just need a drone that can detect and target arty with a large enough warhead. 1000 drones will be cheaper than 1,000 arty pieces. If they both start at the same time against the enemy, drones will win, because they have greater range, so the drones will detect arty, well ahead of arty detecting and destroying drone forces. Yes arty have a greater firing rate and can cause more destruction, however they have to get closer to their target first and in a one on one race, all else being equal, drones have the advantage over arty. i.e. anti arty drones appropriately deployed. When AI vision becomes standard for drones ( as available commercially ), arty will have nowhere to hide. The AI vision tech is already there, but it's being held back. The nature of war will change and arty wont be able to get close to targets with sufficient drones in place to defend against attack. They just need drones specifically designed for arty. Not only that however, once the payload capacity and firing rate of drones is improved, it will be game over for anything on the ground. We are just seeing the beginning of this type of warfare. Anyway my point was with regard to cost/benefit of drones vs tanks and arty and that aspect is very clear.
Much depends on tactics applied also. Drones can seek and take out arty munitions dumps. So once they identify the arty, the munitions are close by. They just have to take out the munitions dump and then the arty is disabled for a period of time. Larger drones can be called in to take out the arty with heavier drop munitions, or they can provide GPS targeting coordinates for GPS arty of Kamikaze drones. Based on the 2 million dollar arty piece, even if a Kamikaze anti artillery drone cost $4000, that's still 500 anti arty drones for every one arty piece. Even if it takes an average of 3 drones to disable one arty piece, that's still around 166 to one cost advantage of the drone against the arty. So they could take out 166 arty pieces using drones, for the equivalent cost on one arty piece, based on a conservative 30% effectiveness efficiency rate of the drone.
I'm going to call it, next 5 years we're going to see the US Military doing a 'hand held drone operator' MOS. The ability to have a squad mate pop up a drone, to scout ahead in real time, and get a birds eye view of enemy fortifications before a push is going to be insane. Imagine you're working on some offensive, and you have direct callout on radio of a $50 dollar drone telling you where the enemy is, how many of them, blah blah blah. Reaper drones no longer need to play surveillance for operations, and can purely build into support. Squad level tactics can even use grenade drones to drop explosives on enemies, or even smokes to disrupt their vision. When I enlist in the US army next week. It's going to be the #1 thing I'm interested in if it becomes a thing. I'll reclass in an instant if I can do that kind of stuff.
👍 Russia does the same, and has much more drones. I suppose soon tanks will have a little système to blur the communication with attacking drone's operator.
This is BS. Not one of those grenades could take out a main battle tank. These are good for soft targets only, like trucks. A lucky hit might take out a track or something, but not with any reliability. Calling them the equivalent of a Javelin like some of the commenters just shows ignorance. A serious use for drones is forward artillery spotting. Some of the Howitzer smart rounds are GPS guided and I'd bet drones can determine and relay back GPS target positions.
the right video to make is how Russian lancet drones have been decimating ukraine artillery tanks and armored vehicles but because "ukraine is winning", lets switch the sides and make the bots shout "glory to ukraine", got to keep them engaged

submarine drone that could target sub are a deadly threat but good like finding an enemy sub in the first place in the very vast ocean also it's will be probably hard building sub that goes under water cause of you have to factor in the water pressure and you need to build a sub that is smaller and compact that the enemy sonar couldn't detect but if someone manage to build this kind of drone sub and manage to find ways to locate enemy submarines nuclear submarines would be in potential danger
Destroying an armored vehicle by means of a drone and sinking an attack or missile submarine by drone are different things. Quite possibly for the United States losing a submarine due to a drone attack or not would mean a declaration of war, and going to war with the United States is something that everyone would avoid.

WSJ will probably never report it, but the Russians are using far more of these FPV drones. Lancet drones take out dozens of tanks/ artillery pieces each month, if not each week. Russian military has improved vastly (at great cost) since February 2022 and is now grinding up the Ukrainian counteroffensive
@@akshittripathi5403Lancet is decent but They're not doing that much more work than fpvs.
Also because of the distance it operates at the lancet has a lower kill percentage.
Because the fpvs operate basically on the front line of they disable a tank it's much harder for the enemy to retrieve the tank and take it safety since follow up strikes happen a lot of the time , while lancet operates at intermediate distances and if they don't take out the equipment on the first hit they're much easier to retrieve and tow to safety .

This reminds me of the drone and c4 trick in Battlefield 2042. I used to think an explosive attached to a regular drone was unrealistic and only worked because of game logic, but it seems it would actually work in real life. Scary to think how gaming tactics could actually work irl. Like with that one Nascaar Driver that used an old race car game trick to boost his speed by driving on the border of the track against the barrier.
Bomb Drone in CoD Warzone is straight reference
Depends on the game. I play stuff that lets you load a Humvee with C4 and absolutely ruin the enemy's day.
I bet some of the new tactics are based off videogames, most military personnel under the age of 30 have played a CoD or Battlefield or any other futuristic War game at least once
Smart use of diy FPV drones!
For the UI I can tell they are using Betaflight as the OS, also my personal fav.
A professional FPV pilot would be able to jump into an open hatch or window and dodge virtually any missile.
Go Ukraine!
you probably don’t know that Russia is doing the same thing, and in terms of the ratio of drones, forces are not on the side of Ukraine
Yeah I'd fly into the hatch of the tank, fly into the windows of vehicles. You could get 12 pilots flying at the same time. I'd do swarms of drones to maximize the amount of fear.
I was with you until you said that they could Dodge missiles.
@@jerseyshoredroneservices225 FPV drones are too small and maneuverable to be easily hit directly by a missile.

Yup, Betaflight. It's crazy to see the FPV race quads that I and many others have been building for fun all these years turned into kamikaze weapons. I think everyone in the drone hobby knew it was easily possible, but it's just nuts to see the fuzzy analog DVR footage of it actually hitting targets. I'm surprised Russia can't easily jam the TX/RX, but maybe their capabilities are truly overblown.

You guys got this story backwards
Meanwhile western media : "ukranian" lancets are also expertly taking out "Russian" leopard2 tanks. 😂😂😂
Sticking to the current video though: yes, those DIY drones with small grenades are ABSOLUTELY penetrating and destroying that HRS armor on those tanks.

@mrgamingking18 the key words in what I said are 'will just be adapted' meaning currently tanks are not reinforced there. is English something you struggle with?
@@BJJISTHEGAYPARTOFMMA One of the reason Ukraine has a high armor attrition rate when breaching Russian defense lines is because NATO doctrines for breaching dates from the 1980’s and the Gulf War. Back then, NATO teachings expected 25 minutes from the moment a field was breached to the moment counter-battery arrived.
Yet, with the advent of both reconnaissance and loiter drones, that timeframe is non-existent, and it is genuinely putting a drag on Ukraine, and Western nations too.
These drones are revolutionary.

And to all Ukraine supporters:
Prioritize donating to groups and units that focuse on drones.

Yeah its a misleading report.
When in position, on site, russian tanks have a camo net above them and many drones explode in that net, with little or no damage for the tank.
Some 'beautiful explosion' vidéos are failed attacks.
Drones changed the landscape of modern war to the same degree the gun did when it was first used in war.
I live in Bulgaria - yesterday I had an avert for a $10,000 drone that can carry a 15kg payload for 10 hours, its controlled via satellite [presumably starlink]. That means I could load it with bombs, fly it to Ukraine, bomb a tank and fly it home again called a "YANGDA Sky Whale Max Hybrid Heavy Lift Long Endurance VTOL Drone"
The point I am making is - the whole shape of war has changed. Me a random guy with $10k can secretly take part in a war in another country. That is crazy.
That type of drone would be shot down before it can do any type of meaningful damage. The only benefit of these fpv drones is they are small and agile.
This is why I can’t get batteries for my drone anymore…!

They do not outperform arty, arty is still the leading cause of death and injury
@@JoeyBlogs007 they are not currently out performing arty in the future im sure but not rn
So they could take out 166 arty pieces using drones, for the equivalent cost on one arty piece, based on a conservative 30% effectiveness efficiency rate of the drone.
i feel bad for people who got killed by drones
That drone would not be $50 by the time US Military gets it. Probably $50k each
"Reclass in an instant" ... good luck with that.
The UK military are already training FPV drone pilots
*Ukraine does a bit of creative trolling*

👍 Russia does the same, and has much more drones.
I suppose soon tanks will have a little système to blur the communication with attacking drone's operator.
🇺🇦💪🏅
Good report.

Scary thing about the drone game is in this Russo-Ukraine war we have seen a lot of tanks from German to American to Russian get bumped by drones with one punch 🥊 and I have not seen or can’t even pictured a modded out tank just to weave off drones because the payload they are coming with now is insane to see
Apparently we are not many years off submarine drones, which may make large submarines outdated.
submarine drone that could target sub are a deadly threat but good like finding an enemy sub in the first place in the very vast ocean also it's will be probably hard building sub that goes under water cause of you have to factor in the water pressure and you need to build a sub that is smaller and compact that the enemy sonar couldn't detect but if someone manage to build this kind of drone sub and manage to find ways to locate enemy submarines nuclear submarines would be in potential danger
Destroying an armored vehicle by means of a drone and sinking an attack or missile submarine by drone are different things. Quite possibly for the United States losing a submarine due to a drone attack or not would mean a declaration of war, and going to war with the United States is something that everyone would avoid.
