I bought the king fisher color, really love the jacket! But do you know where the recco reflector is in this jacket? I thought they put it in every new goretex pro jackets
Jeff, firstly, great video. Which jacket would you say is the boxiest / widest of the higher end Arc’teryx jackets. I’ve just bought a Sabre LT which is perfect in all but fit for me. I wish it was wide enough to accommodate a thin puffy underneath. Incidentally, I bought it in the Phoenix colour and it has a yellow/gold zip.
i think the beta SV/rush/sabre AR is about as wide as you're gonna get. did you get your sabre LT in your usual size? i can fit a thin puffy in this size M sabre AR and my usual size is L
Is the beta longer or shorter then the alpha. Also sizing I have a XL atom should I do large or XL with the shell. I really like the dynasty red re bird. Thinking about getting it.
beta is longer than the alpha, you can probably get away with a L in shell with your XL atom but i would just get them all in your regular size to maximize use cases
This jacket is quite long in the front so it won't work great with shorts. If your climate is hot/humid then it also won't excel in these conditions. It is also on the heavier side with all the extra features/length so personally I wouldn't recommend it for summer. Something like the Beta LT would be better for summer while sacrificing a bit of durability and coverage for winter.
I was looking at your video to see if you explained how to use the 2 little cords in front of the jacket. As I'm trying to determine if mine is not function properly. When I pull those little cords and I move my head up in the hood they come loose and I think that should not in storm/rain right?
those 2 small tabs bring the brim on the hood down, the brim should be coming down to your forehead. if you'd like to bring the whole hood down to your head you can use bottom adjuster on the back (by the base of your neck). hope this helps!
if you're not climbing i think the Beta SV will be better for you for a wider use range. i don't have a need for the alpha sv and don't own one so probably not reviewing one anytime soon!
I've found this issue goes away over time as the fabric softens up with use. But yes, it's pretty loud and crinkly on day one. You and everyone else will notice it.
@@abearsmind hi Jeff what is your height and weight. I see you are wearing a large. I’m 5’11 205 broad chest shoulders is the xl sleeves longer? Xl’s r usually to long for me.
Great arcteryx reviews i subbed thanks
Awesome thank you!

it is right above the halo adjuster (the upper hood adjuster) there’s this little buldge

Are the Beta SV and AR longer or the Alpha SV longer? I just bought the AR and feels a little longer compared to the LT I had.
Beta SV is longer than all of the jackets you listed, but is also supposedly not in this seasons lineup…

@@abearsmind thank you
Does this coat fit exactly the same as a Sabre snow sport jacket or is it slimmer?
it fits the same they’re both regular fit
Would you recommend this as a rain jacket in the summer I do want to the flexibility for outer shell for winter snow aka Chicago crazy weather

Why not alpha sv
Which do you like better between the Sabre Ar and the Beta SV? Thanks!
I prefer the Beta SV as its more versatile!

There s buttons in the head you have to push at the same time. They r inside at the front left and right.
@@fotovandenatuur and Jeff - thank you for confirming my thoughts - Arc'teryx confirmed my jacket is broken and I get a new one.
In which size did you buy the jacket?
Large
80 Denier (not denim)

What backpack were you wearing? Thanks for the video.
It's the Arc'teryx Brize 32.
Hardshell probably loud, not a everyday jacket
here in vancouver i wear goretex too regularly that i'm used to it...
I use the beta ar paddle boarding in rain here in vancouver and the sound from movement is not an issue.. might be a Vancouver thing thou ;)
@@koejoe its almost like goretex was made for PNW
