Have they sorted out the iPhone camera breaking on a solid mount problem ? Or has your mount got the anti vibration thingy ? Feel your pain with the fogging lol
Curious why you weren't using the Chigee. And a suggestion. Take a look at the DMD2 units. They are also based on OSMand but are a complete system that can be integrated nicely with the BMW whizwheel. I use the T665 which is excellent.
@@gnmurray5955 because I was testing OSM and on my iPhone for off-road use I’ve been down the DMD route it’s expensive and unreliable and the system lags a lot. Chigee‘s processor is very quick and can keep up the iPhone so what my iPhone delivers took away my pocket in safety not suffering with vibration and not suffering with heat exhaustion and screen dying chigee candeliver
I’ve done the whole DMD thing £1500 later there’s nothing wrong with Chigee . I was just testing it. I wanted to see it close in the small tracks. I just not got round to hitting it to my bike yet. iPhone can’t cope with micro vibrations and heat, so that needs to go in your pocket. That’s the only reason.
Modern tyres, so Michelin Anakee aren't modern tyres! Pretty much all main stream tyres are made of the same collection of compounds have been for years. What makes the difference is development (most don't have that and pay to use others) tread patterns, how the compounds are mixed to give varying balances between, wear, grip (wet/dry), turn rates, side wall flex, cornering etc. I would argue and depending if you went for 54T or 65S, it looked like the 65S? If you went for 54's the Anakee's are better for tracks than 54T. Ultimately much of trye choice is personnel preference of how they work in any given scenario. Your choice of nav system could also be flawed, as is your choice or where to test it. leafy Buckinghamshire tends to have a better signal than the average off road track in Morocco! If this system it's totally reliant on a mobile phone signal like most of the newer types e.g. Chigee, you could well find yourself without any nav at all, I'd suggest you look something like a DMD works off proper GPS and you can link in your phone if you so wish. For serious off road adventure riding in wild country you can't relay on phone signals alone.
Mmmm NO NO NO re chigee when you download your maps to you phone your are in offline mode and never need a mobile signal . So I will be using it in Morocco it depends what it best for off road mapping , I’ve had Dmd2 spent £1500 on that product and it relied on open Street maps. The system was slow and Lagi even with downloaded Maps so in my book Chigee is the best. I may be a reseller and the very first reseller in the UK, but I’m standing by it. I’ve used it on numerous tools in a load of no signal areas and I’ve never been let down so I’m going to go back at you with that. ,l
@@lifeisarideuk Interesting didn't know that about being off line. I guess you need to download the entire country map rather than just a route or intended area? Because if you were forced to deviate too far, you'd ride off the downloaded route or area map. My experience with DMD2 has been nothing but spot on, used it in US, Canada, South America and North Africa. Its never missed a beat.
@@Gundimuck forgot to tell you as well they weren’t M anakee they were continental TK c70 rocks perfect for the desert Road just like my navigation system , and this is my whole point. He spent £23,000 on a bike. Why can’t you choose the bloody tires? Why have I just had to spend £330 to get the boots I want or it would be even nice to get close to what I wanted

No, they haven’t sorted it out which is why I use a Chigee item and I employ everyone to look at Life Is a Ride .co UK and see how we do it
I love little businesses like this. Great video 👍👍👍
Same here
You’re right too he’s been there for a long time. He’s a really good guy.
