As Simon Jordan said, GN is right to have an opinion and we have freedom of speech in this country for him to have one. But he's also pointed out that he's a hypocrite for having a platform to express an opinion on Qatari TV and not doing so and then doing so on British TV when it wasn't the time or the place for it, it was a football world Cup final.

NOT ONE actual football fan, turns on the tv to watch a football show, and hopes to hear what the pundits think about politics and working conditions. Somewhere along the way, someone has given these football pundits the confidence to believe that we all want to be lectured by them about the world, and that everything they say must be heard by everyone. They have their jobs because they played football, for no other reason. They aren't qualified or educated enough on the subject matter to be broadcasting it to a whole country of people who actually just tuned in to watch football. Gary Neville uses every opportunity he has to preach Labour to the country, and most of the time its on a football show.

@@supercriceto from what I gathered it wasn't really comparing it to Qatar but talking about pay as a whole and the unequal distribution of wealth in every country. The amount of working people that rely on food banks in this country is a scandal and constantly gets swept under the carpet. I work for a housing association and the amount of teachers and nurses that come looking for financial help is disgusting. This is in the UK. So in my eyes it should be compared and discussed on a similar level the way we talk about Qatar.
Maybe Rishi should be working out how to run this country properly instead of responding to comments from a former footballer.

Owen definitely understands the game, and has done does some good analysis with Leon Osman. Carragher can at least see a formation but I can't say he's amazingly insightful either. I find the majority of punditry pretty poor these days as they all just blame workrate as they don't have to explain it.
