Good Morning Ash and Chad and Dougal 🐾🐾 bless your heart 💜 Ash I knew something thing was wrong as in you did not look well so hoping you’re ok now! Such a great vlog your cake you made looked fabulous and sure it was tasty I’m not a chocolate and orange girl but looks lovely to make for everyone else! Mantle piece looked gorgeous! …….,you do make me laugh out loud with your giggles 🤭and what you say when you giggle great humour! ……..Chad is so great with his wine 🍷 report he definitely knows his stuff and so nice to see more of Chad great guy!………can’t wait to see your home fully finished/decorated for Christmas 🎄 such a rich luxurious interior deep rich colours so in keeping with its era! Dear little Dougal he knew he needed out! As for the door you could do several things here! Personally I would do a half barn door with a dog door at the bottom of course with a key on Dougals collar or you could have a door with glass at the top wooden at the bottom! I wouldn’t put any metal door in suggested here as you spent and restored your beautiful windows 🪟 all wooden!……..going back to your garden it’s so lovely come spring it will look glorious I’m sure (I love gardens in all seasons) your bath would be fantastic planted with fresh herbs! Oh last but not least good luck 😉 with clearing up after the garland making lol 😆 so funny you showed that at the end of the vlog 😂 exactly what I love about this Chanel real and never afraid to show imperfections and mess us humans make all part of the journey! XX 🩵🩵
So in the US if you go to garden centers you can purchase Christmas tree branch’s which they get from trimming trees for customers. It’s a bit easier and a lot less mess. I go because I can buy a mix of spruce, boxwood etc to make garlands and wreaths.
Nice to have Chad’s wine report. I am sure the subjects of your two portraits loathed each other by the time they were painted! They prefer to be looking away from each other! Thank you for your video!
Who looks this good in what looks like a tailored turtle neck sweater reconstructing chicken wire and garland on a banister??? You do, Ash...You do.... Absolutely love your channel.😊
Ash, finally a video!! Lovely your garden, pity climate there is very rainy. Missing a tour of the atic despite you have not done any reno there. Hope you recover from a some sort of cold you are catching. Hot milk with some honey may help. Take care.
Ash - next time you boil the oranges, do enough for a couple of cakes and then puree them and freeze in cake sized batches. That way you can whip up a cake on shorter notice!
Thank You for sharing, I love watching such a kind of laidback relaxed presentation, its like we are there with you. Love the Garlands can't wait to see the finished look 😜💚🎀🎄
Have so enjoyed watching this weeks vlog! Several things - take care of the plants you buy Ash - they cost too much to allow them to die, especially when all it takes is some water and planting them in some soil! Chad I really enjoyed your wine review - I live in the glorious & spectacular Deep South of New Zealand and love Sauvignon Blanc. I’ve never been able to enjoy a Chardonnay, despite that, your compelling review may make me reassess & sample one 🥂 😋 Ash - hope you have a wonderful carpet/vacuum cleaner cause those pine needles are a shocker to remove. Ive never forgotten what they did to the carpet in our flat when we lived in London (for 3 christmases) many years ago🎄 Have a wonderful week and I hope your cold gets better soon 😊
the garlands are beautiful, and I think the fact that you have chosen those lovely moody wall colors has made the house look even warmer and cozier, which goes well with the Christmas vibes
Love the Christmas tree branches! It’s going to look so beautiful going up the staircase. The chocolate orange cake looked sooo good! I’m going to have to try it. And thanks to chad for the wine🍷 review! That second one he described the red sweet wine I felt like I could almost taste it!❤
I make a similar orange cake though mine has chocolate chips rather than cocoa powder . Something about the unctuous orange is delightful. Chad’s wine reviews are interesting and it shows how personal & subjective taste can be. We live in the wine country of Northern California and it’s always fun to try new things and learn from each other. Thoroughly enjoy your channel, you guys are a delight.
Chad I like hearing you talk about the education side of wine & fun and enjoyable , thank you . Your home is beautiful and definitely going to make that cake too !
If you’re planning a new door, how about one with the doggie door at the bottom? There are beautiful options now, and, of course a collar❤ that only allows the door to open when your precious pup wants to come back inside.
Love your videos. You have a very pleasant way of talking and it all sounds very authentic. Thank you for sharing parts of your life and things you love. I always looked watching a new video as soon as it’s out. ❤
Ash, thank you for another enjoyable video. I always look forward to them because you have good ideas, great style, and fun with every project. The garland is beautiful; it is simple, yet elegant, and fits well in your classic Victorian home. Buying a fresh tree and cutting it up was the best idea. Whenever I bought greens that have already been cut, they dry out too quickly and look petrified. I wish you had "smell-o- vision" and "taste-o- vision" because your chocolate and orange cake was a success. If you replace your kitchen door, I think the same style would be good because it brings in so much natural light. I love your paintings. They compliment your traditional decor. Their serious expressions were characteristic for that time period. Today we all smile for picture-taking unlike the traditions of the past. Looking forward to seeing your finished home at Christmas. I know it will be spectacular. Greetings from New York City, Robert.
The eucalyptus tree, or gum tree, as we call it sheds its bark in summer (now, in the southern hemisphere) like European trees shed their leaves in winter (we are back to front)..I'm surprised it's still alive there. nothing like smelling eucalyptus on a hot summers night..thanks for including Dougal.🐨🐾🐾 I wish we did the full on Christmas decoration thing, we are losing our traditions, yours are gorgeous 😊 Glass backdoor is lovely as is.❤
If you wire bundles of foliage onto a thin rope it will make a lovely garland that drapes nicely. You will find that your needles will drop before Christmas as it’s too early to hang them. I do love your home, you’ve done an amazing job with it.
Love the garlands. Please show the finished project next week. Thanks for the chicken wire idea. I will use that next year. Looking forward to your next video.
I am thinking the chicken wire could scratch your woodwork. You could attach the branches to sisal rope using florist wire and then zip tie the garland to your banister. You can also order greens from a garden center to use in your home. Cedar would drape easily and you could add eucalyptus for added interest. For a bad throat try hot water with lemon and honey to soothe your throat.
sorry to hear you're poorly and hope that you are better in time for your event Ash. Dougal is the cutest, love how he just stares not quite knowing what is needed.😆 Great video, glad you are standing up to community peer pressure re the artwork in your sitting room - too funny 🤣.
Well Ash belting job you’ve done there with your garlands. Great to see Chad back he’s always welcome & Doogle looking mighty fine. Chocolate cake looks yummy. Hope it doesn’t take too long cleaning the Xmas tree needles up. Catch ya later
Loved this, lads! Not sure about where you live in London, but many Christmas tree farms/places of sale, actually collect fallen branches and bundle them all together for sale for about 6 quid which is brilliant for wreath and garland making! Worth asking about next time. 🙌✨
Get an aluminium door or a cat flap for Dougie boy. I have that sore throat currently too taking Vit D 3000 in X2 a day, zinc and K3. Plenty of hot teas and Scotch Broth soups.💜
"Project Garland", what an undertaking. It was looking really good at the end of the video. I used to put up a 12 ft live tree, and it was a lot of work, but so much prettier than artificial.
Hope the sniffle's gone. The banister garland looks great I was worried the wire might scratch the paintwork, some eucalyptus borrowed😉from next door's tree would be a nice addition and smell great do show us the finished look. Enjoyed the wine selection great to hear someone enjoying a decent Chardonnay. The choc orange cake looked delicious, I would be tempted to fill with marmalade or an orange liquer flavoured cream. Have a good week you guys!
It definitely is more edgy when the portraits are facing out. Your eye looks where their eyes look. When they are facing each other, the school of thought is that they are looking into the center of the vignette that you are trying to highlight. For example, what is below them, like a console table, etc. But as you said, you get to do you!
Hi Ash and Chad, another geat video. Your home is beautiful inside and out. Ash your decorating is beautiful and Chad keep giving wine updates. You should try wine from Canada. I lookforward to your guys next video. Bye MaryAnn 🇨🇦
You are doing all the gardening work and Chad is playing games all weekend? Oh well at least you are keeping fit and moving around as that is so important for health. Yes the angelica needs to be potted or it will be root bound as they grow very tall and same for the other plants. Maybe ask your neighbours about the eucalyptus? Know it is not easy as I have a sycamore and a holly next door and just chop back my side but that tree is further over.
Great vid. BTW, I found the Saint Amant in the US for $19 so will definitely try it!. I have long been a fan of the Cline old vines zin which we get here for $9 a bottle. Come to the US and drink wine!
Love the vlog as always. The garlands are taking shape and look forward to seeing the end result. I bought a pair of the secateurs (you influenced me😂) and agree they are great and make the job of cutting back shrubs so much easier. Thank you for such enjoyable and watchable vlogs and I hope your cold gets better soon😊
And do keep the wine tasting and recommendations coming. I am based here in the Napa Valley and have lots of access to the local, however love hearing about a few more European and S.A varietals. xo!
Hilarious how Dougal is just sitting there with all that dog food around him - my dog would have been sniffing and wanting to get into the bags. He is 16 now though so not so bad as he used to be. How about a stable door in the kitchen in a dark wood? Handy in the Summer and brings the garden in and can be bolted into one in the Winter.
Hi great vlog as always very Christmassy, but can I ask a silly question does the chicken wire not scratch your lovely bannister and fireplace? Look forward to seeing it all finished 😊
You’ve inspired me to make that cake! 😋 The garlands look wonderful and I can only imagine how lovely they smell with all those pine trees! I do expect you’ll still be vacuuming the needles up next June though! 😘
A little suggestion from your interior design friend across the pond. I would do a moss green velvet or plaid ribbon with your pheasant feathers and garland on the mantle. The red is a touch jarring..but you might use on the door wreaths, etc. xo!
Your garden is beautiful Ash. Sorry you don’t feel well. I like the glass door. If you put a wooden door with less light I don’t think you will like as well. I just joined your channel a few days ago. I love your content and your presentation! I am one of those crazy Americans who is obsessed with England. My ancestors came over in the first migration 1630’s. 🇬🇧❤️
😊😊I like the back door. What is it like at night?Has the door got a blind?A glass door can be a big black square at night and also, not private...just a thought
Hi from Scotland i found it quite bizarre buying a Christmas 🎄 tree and chopping it down you can buy cutting from Christmas tree also i use thick rope to make my fireplace garlands so easy
Hi Ash, Chad, and Dougal (he is adorable), I just love your conversation. You make me smile and laugh. You're so cute at times I beleave you and Chad would be a great comedy duo sometimes I would not put red silk ribbon with pheasant feathers choose velvet or tartan ribbon I admire your very lush staircase brilliant job looking forward to finished staircase and fire surround. Great presentation of your videos ❤😅😂
UA-cam did a wonderful thing when they first recommended one of your videos in my feed. I love the vibe. Your home is gorgeous. Chad’s wine reviews are informative and entertaining. And I thought that the deliberate reason for, are they Harold and Abigail?, facing away from each other is to make the mind’s eye move out each direction giving the sense that the room is larger than it is. Eucalyptus is a pain. The leaves have phyto-toxic properties, intended to inhibit growth under the tree. So yes its a good idea to clear the fallen ones as soon as you can. The web site Vivino seems to have the La Tabardonne and appears to ship to the UK (I think)
Isn't Chad handsome? He is like a young Scottish Elvis! We all think Cotswold Posh Boy (and his sister) are lookers, but Chad, the camera loves you boy ❤
Ash Coworth Park is beautiful, we have stayed a night there too. Stunning location. It is the place where Princes Harry & Prince William stayed the night before Harry got married in Windsor.
Love trees, but their leaves🙄 I don’t think you have very a working fireplace, but the eucalyptus bark makes excellent fire lighters. Your beautiful hydrangeas are perennial, so you could have left them , and with a little attention, would last year after year. Still , live and learn!
Aww, I never feel like a video is complete without a showing of Dougal! He really seems to be the sweetest gentleman.

Thank you, Chad, for the wine recommendations. This helped me when l had a dinner party a couple of weeks ago ❤. Garlands look amazing 👏🏾
Love the garland..It’s beautiful! Can’t wait to see the the stairs finished.. So nice to see Chad too! He needs to be a regular!
I agree I like them facing away.
Your house is now a home. 🎄 Nice to see Dougal…Looking good you two! Cake looks yummy. Nigella has wonderful recipes. Love the wine reviews 🍷..

Great video. Love the music you use and Christmassy content (and the Chad takeover!)
Your videos are the best part of my Sunday, I love cosying up in the morning and sticking your videos on the tele 🥰 hello from Hampshire! 💙
Getting Narnia vibes with all the greenery and moody colours. It’s looking fantastic 🎄
Nice to have Chad’s wine report. I am sure the subjects of your two portraits loathed each other by the time they were painted! They prefer to be looking away from each other! Thank you for your video!

Good to see Dougal. You might think about replacing your back door with a stable door. I had a stable door and it was really practical.
Thank You for sharing, I love watching such a kind of laidback relaxed presentation, its like we are there with you. Love the Garlands can't wait to see the finished look 😜💚🎀🎄

Ash re the Garland on the stairs. I do mine on lightweight rope and wire the foliage onto that .
Really enjoyed this video, garlands look lovely, but glad it’s not me clearing the mess up😂just love Dougal.Have a good week both of you.
Chicken wire will scratch your lovely paintwork. Use velvet ribbon wound around the stair spindles and Velcro ties to secure it.
LOVE your kitchen door! So much light coming in etc etc
I think an oak door half glazed is in keeping with the Victorian era. Warm and cosy vibes. ❤
Can’t wait to see the finished garlands! 🎄🎉🎅🏻
Chad I like hearing you talk about the education side of wine & fun and enjoyable , thank you . Your home is beautiful and definitely going to make that cake too !
OK, now I need some chicken wire. Dougal is a cutie.
If you’re planning a new door, how about one with the doggie door at the bottom? There are beautiful options now, and, of course a collar❤ that only allows the door to open when your precious pup wants to come back inside.
A thief can easily get through a dog door
Our labradoodle could get through even the smallest of dog flaps they are great!!! If they are small they are burglar proof too jux
Love your videos. You have a very pleasant way of talking and it all sounds very authentic. Thank you for sharing parts of your life and things you love. I always looked watching a new video as soon as it’s out. ❤

A stable door would suit your kitchen brilliantly with a window in the top half :0)
Beautiful mantels and garland!
The garlands are looking fabulous
Have you considered a Dutch door, that you could open up the top half with nice weather and see out into your garden?

The stairs look amazing. The price of a Christmas tree here in Singapore is around $700-$900-…..I’ll be putting fake garland up here😂😂😂
He should put on “lights”by Patrick Patrickios extended for this winter. It’s lovely I think.
Ty for the wine recs!!!
Love your Monaco sweatshirt! As always-a great video
Loved this! Glorious decorations! Bless Dougal, he is a bonnie boy indeed!

I actually Like the two works of art facing away from each other. I agree with you it adds to their misery.
What about a Crittal door?

You seem to keep attacking Chad on every video. I think someone is a very jealous and bitter old man.
Love the way your outfit colour matches green stairs! ❤

Hi Ash
What a fantastic channel - now a fan of you and Chas!
Warm regards
Richard
I think the current door is ideal with the glass windows. Makes it feel like the outside in nearer to the inside of the kitchen.
Love seeing your beautiful home 🥰 I do have a question… what vacuum cleaner do you have ? I am in the market for a new one 💙
Keep the christmas videos coming, getting me into the festive spirit! ❤️🎄 And Chad fyi a viewer from Finland here ☺️🇫🇮
Your garden is beautiful Ash. Sorry you don’t feel well. I like the glass door. If you put a wooden door with less light I don’t think you will like as well. Ash I needed your talent for wreath making today..gave up and went shopping😂😂😂
félicitations pour le cake et pour la déco de Noël !
Hi Ash, Chad, and Dougal (he is adorable), I just love your conversation. You make me smile and laugh. Thanks for another great video , it’s freezing here in Scotland.😊
Whenever I imagined them moved so as to face each other, then it seemed in my mind like the room is moving in on itself.
I hollered after 35:35 "This cold has made me sound quite masculine.." lmao! It certainly did give Benedict Cumberbatch
Have you considered a doggie door for Dougal? You'll need to check his gums for wood splinters.
Nice
As for the pictures,,,,,,,, perfect just like that,,,,,, and a definite talking point.
Sounds like you need to take a trip to France ❤😊 x
Will that gardland last till Christmas?
A stable door would be lovely! ❤
The natural greenery is my favourite and I get ivy and holly and spruce or yew for my mantle and door spray and on the fireplaces and dining table but this early won't it be dropping by Christmas?
26:45 I’m a Pooky fan also. Was curious as to what lamp shade color you purchased for the guest room.
Eucalyptus is a pain. The leaves have phyto-toxic properties, intended to inhibit growth under the tree. So yes its a good idea to clear the fallen ones as soon as you can. The web site Vivino seems to have the La Tabardonne and appears to ship to the UK (I think)

I love,love your garden ❤!
The urn on the stand is gorgeous..can i ask are they expensive there? Wow they are here in USA in Indiana!
Kitchen Door have you thought of a stable door ? only a thought
❤
Isn't Chad handsome? He is like a young Scottish Elvis! We all think Cotswold Posh Boy (and his sister) are lookers, but Chad, the camera loves you boy ❤
Scottish elvis think you need to go to speck savers lol😅
Have you heard of Oxford bags Ash?I think they would suit you.I love the linen trousers
Do you typically host during the holiday season?
Every year!
@@ashmazzina Christmas goose? what is the go to Christmas staple in the U.K.?
Ash Coworth Park is beautiful, we have stayed a night there too. Stunning location. It is the place where Princes Harry & Prince William stayed the night before Harry got married in Windsor.
Do you not have hard freezes in London?
Love trees, but their leaves🙄 I don’t think you have very a working fireplace, but the eucalyptus bark makes excellent fire lighters.
Your beautiful hydrangeas are perennial, so you could have left them , and with a little attention, would last year after year. Still , live and learn!
Try a Dutch Door.
You could go for a barn door so splits in half
