Dear Altus.... I think you are not a bad driver... and still driving this machine in the sand, makes you look like one. But belive me,- I have tried this myself, and I couldn't do it. This makes it much more impressing to watch Gaston or Cyril driving at Paris-Dakar........ these guys are heroes
Great video footage by the assistant. This shows me, once again, that I'm probably better served by a lighter bike, like the F650GS, for off-road riding. That sand looks almost as difficult as snow - perhaps worse.
Altus The sand is nice and soft there at Atlantis. Try getting your feet on the pegs before you open the throttle. This will cure your problem. Tyre pressure 0.8bar with a bead lock. Leon Croukamp offers excellent sand riding training close to where you live... HPN is baas. Gert
I must go practice with my KLE myself. I have not been in the Atlantis sand dunes since 1998 when I took my beachbuggy there. Is it still open so one can just go and ride?
