How To: Install Hood Struts on Hyundai Elantra GT/I30 | G4070ADD00

- In this video I install the Hyundai I30 PD OEM Hood Strut/Bonnet Lifter Kit (G4070ADD00) on my 2019 Hyundai Elantra GT N Line. This kit mounts differently than all of the other kits on the market and does not require cutting the foam material. I would leave out the the top mounts for the hood hinges as they are very difficult to get into place and you risk damage to the hood insulator. This install should only take about 30 minutes and can easily be done by one person.
Huge thanks to hyundaizubehoe... for selling me this part.

Such a huge help with Hyundai Elantra GT mods! Thanks man, literally the only person doing this!
I was REALLY excited to see this notification. Been wishing the hood was damped instead of stick-propped. Definitely saving this.
Great to hear! There are several kits on the market but I wanted to go the OEM route and I think it definitely shows the thought that was put into it (and lackthereof) with the things you stick into the hood.
Just installed these today - very nice fit. Getting the nuts behind the double skin hood is a faff, but do-able. The hood insulation fittings do come off fairly easily with a forked plastic trim tool - I didn’t break any.
Overall very good upgrade!
Awesome! I have been using them as I installed here without the second nut and it hasn't presented any issues. For the price, I do like them as well.
Another great video you are a pioneer for this platform 👍🏼
I also installed the kit today ... damn annoying thing with the screw bracket. Took me about an hour and a half. Incidentally, 4 out of 6 of these clips broke when I dismantled the insulation :D
Yeah I just didn't think it was worth the hassle. Works fine with one bolt.
@@JustinKelly Good to know :) but I really wanted to get these two screws on
Will this work for Hyundai i30 2010 FD 1.4 hatchback ? Thanks
I see you for Spain, and I would like you to put the pieces so that they could be bought in Spain
What k&n filter did you have in there?
Did you try using a nut set in the hole. This way you would not need that other thing that did not work.
I did not. That's a good point though as a nut insert should work ok. I plan on selling it when the car gets parted out before trading so it's not a huge deal.
Will these work on an elantra n?
Unlikely as they are designed for the I30.
Is there one you know of that you would suggest?
