I've been creating some small works for a while now. This began as a home made business card project - on one side an original work. These were done quickly often with ink and brush. As the plan was to give them away I didn't want to spend too much time on them. It was an enjoyable, spontaneous and creative exercise. On the other side I printed my details, here I used a low tech hand printing kit the sort that has tiny letters you place in a rack and then dip on to a little inked sponge thing. I remembered I had a kit like this as a child - you can still get them! Mostly I went for a neat horizontal printing but at other times my details appeared at a jaunty angle! The project worked for quite a while. What I enjoyed was bringing them out of a little box and letting individuals choose their card. It wasn't long though before these little works became more of a thing in themselves I would spend longer on them and start to layer with different inks oil pastels or paints, hmmm giving away these artworks began to get a bit more difficult! Interestingly, before I watched your UA-cam piece, the idea of a small gallery occurred to me. Some of my pieces feel quite 'big' and a gallery would give them their own space. Something of a Bonsai approach perhaps? PS apologies for writing at length!
Hi Laura, yes you had me fooled for a "little" bit, LOL. But I really loved the miniature art gallery, my favorite. And again, yes to anything about abstract art. Take care and God bless you. Sincerely Becky B from Arkansas
Lilliput is pretty awesome and the mini canvas paintings are coming along nicely :) I did look on Instagram for the winter scenes but was unable to find them so I appreciate you showing one on this "episode", thank you. I struggle with trees as well lol. Paint swatches on the watercolor paper with color numbers is a great idea too. I was taught the same in art classes for black and white lol.
Omwwwwww😮😮😮😮😮😮 i absolutely love this!!!!! I would so much love to exhibit in a beautiful little gallery like this!! Wow❤

Aww thank you so much, oh yes black and white swatches are great for looking at contrasts 👍
How did you make the walls? It looks like plywood, but they have a convincing drywall texture on the inside. Really cool project!
Yes just plywood painted white ☺️
What are the other colors you used for the series? Is it posted somewhere else?
