I love this knife. Its the first thing i grab when something needs cutting. Have been using it for two years now and its the one that gets the most use out of my many pocket knives. Best thing is the sturdy, utilitarian feel it has. The lock and the scale material play big part in this. Fast to sharpen aswell. One thing i did was to round down the poking bit between the two finger slots with file. Found the scales sometimes ripping into my gloves/poking my hands if i switched my grip around. No complaints. The blue is the way to go!
I have the mini tuff lite with serrated blade. I took off the clip and carry it on my keychain. Super sharp serrations. Great for "protection". Good review. Thanks.
I've had a mini-tuff lite since they were first released and at least with that version of the knife, it's almost overbuilt with that tri lock. It's seriously robust and you can use it for any purpose without worries that it's going to collapse on you somehow. Unfortunately, that knife got stolen years ago and when I went to buy another one, the series was discontinued. Ended up having to wait a long time to find a new one for sale on eBay. I've seen that they brought the mini-tuff lite back and that's really great to see! I recently lost my trust Kershaw Clash serrated knife and pretty bummed about that, as I've had it for a good 8 years. Thinking of drowning my sorrows by adding a full size tuff lite as the replacement. Thanks for this video and showing it off. Lastly, you've got it right that the blade and point are sharp as hell!
It's a traditional back lock with a stop pin that the tang rests against, and the long bar hook in behind it. Very easy to understand if you take one apart and dead simple, they're stiff when new but get buttery smooth with some use and lubricant. Easily whip it open reverse grip with one hand and depress the lock with your thumb and spine against your palm, or standard grip and a quick jab to the lock bar and let it come out of lock up and sort of 'toss' it closed once your fingers are clear you'll snap the blade before you have a single instance of it failing, nice little utility knife
I'm a tradesman and a shameless cold steel fan boy😂. Good steel; great heat treat on quality mid grade steel Aus8a goes a long way. Triad lock mechanism awesome and my fingers thank me, because I really use these knives hard. I have this blade and the Finn Wolf for daily. Tucked away in a different pocket for defensive purposes we have 🥁🥁🥁 4" Tanto Voyager in Aus 10a(great steel). Cold steel goodness! Oh and great idea flipping the clip solves that hot spot. Great Reviews Cheers 🎉 *Oh did I mention high value $. All three knives $120 USD out the door.
That’s a Great Looking mug!! The Knife looks cool too! I like that sticker in the background too!! Great Review as always!! Never owned a cold steel. Love your channel!!
👍 George you have cost me a few pesos on some Rough Ryder, Opinel, & Marbles folders (all well spent) with your reviews. But your reviews have also thankfully saved me some yen as well, like on this knife. Just not my cup of tea. I would not have known that without your review, thank you.
@@2ndchancegeorge Your reviews are extremely helpful and I enjoy your presentation style as well as following you along the learning curve on projects.
Had one on my Keychain. The only way i would buy another is if they upgrade the steel. i feel like they disrespect this knife by not giving us another option.
@@2ndchancegeorge I’d be tempted to pay $40 for a RoseCraft Little Chonk, with D2. (not really. I’m hardly ever tempted to part with $40, unless I’m getting 3 knives. Lol.)
Thank you for the review George. I agree, looks like a good work knife and I like the way it locks up. Take care.

I’ve always liked that one, but it seemed expensive for what you get. I think they used to be $35.
