#84. Holographic Beach - Multiple Frothy Resin Waves on a Black Side Table

  • Holographic beach with two foamy white glittering resin waves breaking over a 45 cm round 45 cm tall black side table.
    Beautiful blue and holographic water laps gently at a black beach. I love how the holographic base creates so much depth, colour and movement. Watch the resin wave formation in real time with the sounds of waves breaking at Torquay.
    I used Bondi blue tint from Colour Obsession, alpha jewels glitter from Barnes, ocean blue tint, silver holo glitter, titanium white pigment paste and DiamondCote resin from Just Resin.

    Hi Liz. I adore your waves and this table top is GORGEOUS. Well done. I have a question. When you say "20minutes later" is that from the time you mix the titanium white or from when you pop the rresin after its on the surface? Im in far north QLD so very hot and humid here but I can not get waves to work for me...well YET that is. I have all the same resin and pastes etc as you and the wedding cake tips for the torch. Thinking I may have to use less resin on the surface and wait longer as its hot here to do the white??? Regardless I love your work hun

    • @Procrastipainter
      @Procrastipainter  2 роки тому +1

      Thank you so much for your kind words and for watching 🥰💙
      Well.... if you're using DiamondCote, I wait for 50 minutes after I started mixing the resin before I lay the white down, then I blow the wave. The 20 mins later is my reminder to WAIT for the resin to thicken. And I usually don't resin if the room temp is above 23C or over 70% humidity. The warmer the room is, the sooner you'll need to start doing the waves. You're basically waiting for the white you've mixed up to get like cold honey kinda thick. If the humidity is high, your risking getting amine blush (when the resin looks a little cloudy the next day).
      Does that answer your questions?

    • @AnnetteInOz
      @AnnetteInOz 2 роки тому

      @@Procrastipainter ahh ok. Well I need to move then lol. I live in a rain Forrest area with high humidity and current daytime temps around 35 degrees. Just had a monsoonal deluge due to passing cyclone Tiffany too. Yes I'm using Diamond coat and yeh I've had trouble with amine blush before. Maybe tomorrow I'll try again in air con spare room.

    • @Procrastipainter
      @Procrastipainter  2 роки тому

      Oh I WISH I had air con! But yeah, try getting the room to about 21-23C and it should be around 50 minutes 😉 gives you time to finish before it turns to toffee! Good luck and report back how you go

    • @Procrastipainter
      @Procrastipainter  2 роки тому

      Yes it does scratch the resin, that's the point. It gives the second layer of resin something to grab onto. I think its about 120 grit
