Thanks for the advice!
We have just uploaded our most recent video all about 'chasing chub' and catching some surprises along the way.
You'll see in the video that your tips went a long way to improving my fishing!
All the best 👍
I was going to do with my paste but had a look at the ingredients of a pop up mix. Micro glass beads. Unlike a pop up boilie that stays on the hair the paste comes off so the chub will end up eating it.
Made the floater cake instead. Pretty easy and cheaper.
Great idea!
hi adtv I want to start chub fishing this winter but I am having trouble of finding some feeder rods that would do the trick.
Thanks Joe
Hi Joe, have a little look at the Advanta RVS Twin Tip rods. They come supplied with a standard Avon section and a quiver tip section and have been designed especially for fishing rivers.
Cheese paste can be deadly in the winter months however lately I’ve had most of my fish from just hair rigged simple block of cheese
That's another well produced guys keep them up. By the way, what size hook were you using for the cheese paste thank you?
Glad you enjoyed the video Peter, kamasan B983 in a size 6 or 4 is Phil’s favoured cheese paste hook.
What was the rod Phil was using please, liked the look of it for my chubbing this winter..cheers
Im wanting to know what chair and rucksack combo he had going on because thats super light and easy to carry and for me being a disabled angler this would be great for me x
No worries at all, it's the new Korum Compact Ruckbag and the new Korum lightweight chair. Korum also make something called a Roving Kit, which might be of interest, it's a similar principle. Hope that helps :-)
AnglingDirectUK thank you for taking the time to reply I'll be sure looking out for this on Sunday at the Northern Angling show when i go lets hope there is some good stuff as it's my first year x
No worries at all. Hope you had a good time at the Northern Angling show!
AnglingDirectUK had a great time a tbh got some great stuff thanks for being their
In mt country, we use woblers and microjigs for chub fishing, last saturday i got a 30 cm one from the 5th cast 😂
My first one, but these fishes are really shy... They get scarred by anything
tell me more about your counrty..
@@szabolcskovacs2280 my country name is Romania, i'm pretty sure you know about it really much
And for chub fishing... The people in my country use woblers... Microjigs and almost the same lures that you would use for perch on it... But too bad that this fishes are getting poached along many others by nets and fucktards that need to feed not themselves but the whole town...
What reel is Phil using
Normally trot with a pin for most of my chubbing. What do I look for in a feeder rod. As chance of having that cheese paste recipe
Nice one Neil, it's great fun catching on the pin too! Feeder rod wise you want something fairly heavy, especially if fishing snaggy stretches or fast water - alot of the specialist rods are quite good for the job, normally the twin tip models. (You normally get a standard avon tip and then a quiver tip section.) Are you on Facebook if so we added a Cheese Paste video on there, if not I can sort the recipe out for you, no problem! Hope you've been catching a few fish.
Hi Neil, just to say we've uploaded the Cheese Paste recipe to UA-cam as an AD QuickBite. Hope that helps. :-)
Thanks
Reed wafts! 🤣🤣🤣
Great to see you back guys. Really enjoy all of your videos. Great atmosphere and instruction, Has From the Waters Edge stopped now?
Thanks mate, glad you enjoyed it! No, From The Waters Edge is still uploading. :-)
Was just about to ask this question.
No worries Damo. From The Waters Edge will still be uploading video's. :-)
what rods, never a feeder rod in shops for rivers, its short 10' commercial tackle
In this video we used the Advanta RVS Rods which are designed for river fishing. There's a few different models in the range, but for this we used the twin tip models. (They come supplied with a standard Avon tip and a quivertip section.) They are available in-stores or online. (Online we also have some nice rod and reel combos using them too.)
I have to admit.. I have never been chub fishing.
You'll have to give it a go! :-) Especially this time of year... when the weather is cold and other fish aren't too keen on feeding, you can normally rely on a chub to give you a bite!
Really fun dude
I do it all the time, fly fishing for big chub with dries in the summer or fall, its just amazing with smaller 3 or 4wt rods
