- As soon as our cruise ship docked in beautiful Juneau, Alaska we disembarked the ship, walked to our Turo rental car and drove straight to the Mendenhall Glacier. Leaving our ship as soon as possible allowed us to arrive at this top Juneau tourist attraction before the inevitable wave of buses came in from the 3 cruise ships that had recently docked. This glacier is a must-see attraction when visiting Juneau due to its breathtaking scenery, walking trails, and first-class visitors center and facilities. After watching a short informative film about this Alaska glacier, we went for a very scenic hike (with only very mild inclines). Our hike started at the Mendenhall Glacier visitors center and onto the Nugget Falls Trail that hugs Mendenhall Lake. The hike climaxes at the dramatic 377-foot Nugget Falls (or Mendenhall Glacier Falls). Join us on our complete walking tour of the Nugget Falls Trail!

Thank you for filming the entire walk. It gives me a better feel for whether or not I can do it. Considering renting a scooter when we dock in Juneau. The path you walked looks pretty compact until you get right to the falls. Thanks again!

That video is AWESOME. You did a great job. I will be there at the end of the month. Would love to take that walk but not sure my legs would make it. may have to settle for Photo Point and Visitors Center. But your video shows very well that it is a nice level walk. I'm doing a quick 7 day Alaska, Mid June, 2024, on the Bliss. I've heard that it's about a mile to the falls, from the visitor's center. Looks like it rained before your hike to the falls.
South Alaska is technically a rain forest fyi, hence half the months even in the summers are raining. Going to AK next week & also 7 day cruise ☺
It feel way more than a mile for me.
