Once you set up the way you want for a particular song, simply SAVE as a registration. At a gig, recall with the press of a button. Check this out:- ua-cam.com/video/J3KtKLrmloQ/v-deo.html
Thank you so much for this . It can be quite confusing trying to understand midi topics when one is relying on a manual , especially for a relative new comer like me . Its a case of worrying what 'mess up' I could cause to my keyboard 's settings if I get lost in the process . I'll make sure to take plenty of photos of each screen when I eventually tackle it myself . Thanks again for the info . Regards, Kieron.
You're welcome. We are here to make it easier to understand and take your feedback into consideration as we develop better and easier Operating systems for our instruments. Again, thanks for your feedback.
Could you do a video and explain, how to recall registrations with external MIDI messages? Google isn't willing to speak about, the manual doesn't mention this feature and the Ketron website doesn't talk about it. I got an email by Bernie Liwowsky who told me the settings. In addition to this I found a way to force the Yamaha to recall the registrations on Ketron. When you doesn't use the sequencer in the Yamaha, you create a sequencer song. On track one you put one note event, lowest note, very short. In MIDI menu you set Song 1 to transmit Channel 16. Now you set a folder on the USB drive or hard disc, where you store the sequencer songs. After this, you insert the control and program changes, MSB and LSB are zero for the first 128 registrations, MSB is one for the next 128 registrations, two for 128 more etc. and so on... Prg Change switches the 128 of each block. So you can access the first 2 banks, over 2000 entries. You have to create for every registration in the Ketron you want to remote control, a separate sequencer song in Yamaha and to include it into the Yamaha registration. This way, you can use the Ketron registrations as would they be part of the Yamaha. Especially when you want some changes in the song. The sequencer songs are extremely small.
The good thing is, the Ketron could stand farer from the Yamaha, when set one time properly, it works well. You have to use MIDI in 2. Have no idea, if it would work, when using USB MIDI.
Dont you want to set it up with different midi channels for upper and lower.... and them use those channels for left and right? This would give more flexibillity
This is the best way as you suggest (separate channels for left and right) and you can even go deeper ... separate channels for all 3 lead voices and all 2 lowers plus LEFT/Arranger ... but that would be above many folk's heads for now :-)
Nice video 👏 Is it possible to send midi live sounds for styles? For example to choose a style from Yamaha and the the style sounds to be from ketron sd90?
Hi AJ ..I'm new user for SD 90 and I need your help please to show me the setting (in SD 90 and the arranger) to synchronize it with my Korg PA4X or with my Roland EA-7. Thanks in advance waiting for your answer .. Greetings from Holland
Please help, I have a midi keyboard, and getting the dgx 670 hopefully for better piano keyboard and other features, I also have a Steinberg ur242 audio interface, I want to know how I can connect all these and then seems like adding this controller would be really nice and will all this together work in cakewalk or other daws ?
Yes. You can use a MID Merge box found on Amazon or simlar. This will allow you connect multiple devices into the box and MIDI out from the box into the KETRON's MIDI IN2/Kbd.
@@AjamSonic I wouldn't want to miss out on the live drums & guitars, they sound great. Is it possible to create your own patterns in the SD90 and record a full song? Does the SD90 come with an audio/midi interface for an easy integration with an iOS daw? Cheers
Great video. I have a SD90 Connected to a Genos With the same setup as you have. But when I use Launchpad on SD90 I get a delay, which is very anoying. Do you have any idea why I get this? The clock is set to "Internal" on Genos and "Clock out" on sd90. Is this correct?
This is because you are using AUDIO data on the SD90 and so the minimal delay between the Genos' midi clock and the SD90 (not noticeable with Midi ofcourse) is more noticeable with audio. Set both midi clocks to internal BUT also manually set both tempos to the SAME value. When you use SYNC start to start both at the same time, there will be NO delay!
Anyone with a Yamaha Genos or Tyros 5 or PSR SX900 should get one of these KETRON modules. It solves Yamaha's drum, lack of live sound and punch issues!!
@@followyourpassion8378 Yes, but on the one hand it sounds perfect, as long the style is prepared for this, so some other styles can't take any advantage from the revo drums, on the other hand the drum kits are too boomy. And most of the styles have variations with 4 bars only. So the SD90 could be an improvement, to play along an Audio style from the Ketron or to use a Ketron kit to be played from a Yamaha style, this works with some styles. In addition to this you keep the revo drums and also the Tyros 5 audio drums, you could install on your Genos. Meanwhile the expansion packs are free.
Hello from Holland I have audya 4 ı olay it with midi But ı want a module from yamaha The same way to use like audya Has yamaha something like audya4? Greatings
Hi I have question. I have 2 keyboards I play novation 61mk2 and my keyboard is connected to rytm section of tyros 3. My friend, who plays tyros he also use lower part of style section, and depend of situation we switch in fly to control lower part keyboard from tyros. Is it possible to control (style section ) on SD90 from 2 keyboards? I would like to switch from my keyboard to acoustic violin than second keyboard would take control of style section on SD90 Thanks

Current day arrangers have to limited controlls for midi.. workstations like kronos and montage/modx are much more flexible you can just add an external channel to any performance... add one for left hand and one for rightbhand and make them midi only... you are not restricted to the typicla left and 3 right hand voices...

Subscribed to your channel as I see u know how to do these things I need to learn
Please let us know more about topics you are interested in, as we prepare to resume our live workshops.
I would use the part "Upper" for controlling the arranger and the Yamaha style's pad track to Ketrons chord recognition.
There are soooo many configurations... the beauty of technology :-)

Nice video 👏 Is it possible to send midi live sounds for styles? For example to choose a style from Yamaha and the the style sounds to be from ketron sd90?
Yes. Search for a KETRON Korg Pa800 video where we demonstrate exactly this feature!
does this unit work with sampler Styles and sounds?
i have korg pa4x keyboard and only use sampler! can upload in those Samplers in the SD90?
Yes, it does have a sampler and you can use your sample sounds as lead sounds or within the styles.
Ketron is really good but I can’t find Ketron products here on Perú 😞

In your Korg, make sure your Global MIDI receive is set to 1. In the SD90, go to MENU - MIDI Arr.Kb - RX and set Global=1.
Hi
What kind of stand do you use for SD90?
We use the KETRON stand .. .sturdy and holds the unit in place (same stand used for Midjay Pro)

Yes, it is possible. You have 2 Midi in jacks on the back plus USB Midi!!
Yes it is. SD90 can take control from Midi DIN port on the back and 3 USB Midi Control ports on the side.
