As an 2019 owner this Q5 is one of the best vehicles ever made. You missed some opportunities to experience: Sport mode, pull back on the shifter once and it will speed up the amazing DCT and throttle. Dynamic mode: push the star icon on the steering wheel and choose Dynamic mode, it will tighten steering and firm up suspension. Bang and Olofsun: you should have tried that out. The leg room for men and the sound deadening vs BMW or Merc is astounding. I get 32 mpg hwy btw..with premium and no hybrid. I'm sure the hybrid is in real life is closer to 35 mpg or more. Again, this vehicle is astounding and I wouldn't recommend it for families as it's not that big. It's great for professionals and singles. Very quick turbo 4 and DCT shifts perfectally all the time, paddles are included btw. The q5 premium plus has real wood and napa leather standard a huge advantage..BMW and Merc both make you pay through the nose for real leather.
Worth mentioning that the power lift gate can also be motion operated to close it as well, say you are taking stuff out of the car but no hands to close it. Pretty neat

@@sunshineleslie1460 Not a single issue, I just take it in for its regular maintenance of roughly twice a year change the oil since we drive it a ton. This is our family car and my wife love it so much that she doesnt want to get rid of it when we upgrade to a Q7.

The ONE and ONLY ONE thing I don’t love about the Q5 is the MMI screen sticking up from the dash. I know the Q7 & Q8 have dual touch screens but I don’t understand how Audi could have have given us just the one screen built into the dash. Even the Q3 has that. At least for me aesthetically, it does not look great sticking out of the dash. Does anyone here have it and finds that is not true? How does it look in person? I’m currently debating between a 2022 Q3 and Q5. The hybrid version is really attractive. As always the review is amazing and I love Audi’s. The 2022 Q5 has the black optics as an option now.
We really wanted to like this car. It has a lot going for it with a luxurious feel, although the soft plastic dash seemed cheap when we test drove the car. Where this car misses a lot is in interior practicality. The center console is worthless for storing anything. The small recesses that you see across the piano black center console are very shallow and quite small in real life. Maybe they can hold some coins but little else. That long skinny recess on the right next to the volume control can hold pencils if they're short enough, but not pens. It can also hold a standard sized cell phone (but not a plus size) if you like most of the phone sticking above the console and flying out whenever you take a turn. Car Confections forgot to do the Coupon Measuring Matrix for the center storage bin, but if they did you would have seen that it too is awfully shallow. During the test drive, I actually thought about how the car would fail the coupon test. There's also no sunglasses storage holder in the overhead console. Glove compartment is also small. Check out the rear cupholders. They have an unbelievably small diameter. They're about the same diameter as maybe an ICE drink bottle. They could never hold, say, a medium Coke from McDonald's. All of this may sound petty, but the interior practicality is that bad. We decided to pass and will buy the competition instead. Which is shame....it's a beautiful car.

Just not a fan of the Hannibal Lecter grille. That said, I'm happy to see Audi kept the physical HVAC controls here vs going to the screen like every other Audi. The interior still looks good and offers better aesthetic than the X3, though upper trim GLCs are pretty posh. Audi may need to do more though because that new Genesis GV70 is going to be a stunner!
I actually prefer a higher screen so that my eyes aren’t continuously going down to the lower screen, further away from the road. I find it more distracting! Just noticed this about myself recently too haha
He liked the car so much it blew his beard off...also new clothes at the 2:45 mark. That was mostly what i noticed about this video, continuity makes a difference.

They don't have car reviewers in Spain? One channel you can start watching is "CarWow". They're British, so I believe it's metric units there (fairly certain not "Imperial Standard" measurements). Also, their reviews in terms of vehicle Model Year will be more relevant for you. Typically, the Europeans will get updates a year or so prior to the Colonials, so those reviews make more sense for EU viewers. There's also another channel "Autogefuhl" that has *very in depth* reviews, everything in metric and possibly standard measurement conversion. I like his reviews, but best viewed with a beer or spritzy wine in hand as they are lengthy, but typically entertaining.

Just hate piano black, it's always a bad design feature. I have a 2018 Q5 Premium Plus that I am mostly very happy with. HOWEVER, that Google Map bullsh!% is a teaser. You get the first 2 or 3 months free. After that, Audi wants a ridiculous amount of money for it and other tech functionality. So don't buy one thinking you're getting all that tech included free forever. But the regular nav maps are just fine. Also, Apple Plus navigation apps DO NOT show up in the instrument screen, only the center screen. The Drive Mode select is mostly a joke unless you have the optional adaptive suspension.
New interior is hideous compared to the old. Bring back the MMI wheel and do something with that hideous touch screen that looks glued on like an after market screen
They really really really need to move the vents down and put the touchscreen underneath in the dash. That big tablet screen... It is the only negative I really have for the q5. In your face blocks a great view. The interior is beautiful and serene otherwise so I think your comment is a bit overgeneralized. The MMi wheel and touchpad did nothing, it should be a touchscreen it is right there to touch. Plus the dash gauges are a full size display screen and has a wheel already with all the same menus and features of the giant dash one. So it's beyond time to move that big tablet into the dash..

This is a beautiful car. I am considering an upgrade from my Mazda CX-3. I am considering a Mazda CX-5 or just going in a different direction and getting this car. Does anyone have an opinion? The Q5 and CX-5 are different class vehicles but I think Mazda does a beautiful interior. Is the upgrade to luxury class worth the money?
@@guillaumedeschenes6437 That's right. As of now, the CX-30 is the better car as it has upgraded tech. When the CX-5 gets its refresh, it will likely be the best of the Mazda line once again. I will likely stick with Mazda. I don't think I'm a luxury car customer. I'm really happy with Mazda.
Don't like the fact that the infotainment screen is just tacked on there instead of being integrated into the dash like most of their other models. Just looks lazy.
I have a 2018 SQ5 Prestige and I love it. I must say though this 2021 has the UGLIEST front headlights and rear taillights. Looks like a Q3. Really disappointing.
Too bad the north american model doesn't have the adaptive OLED taillights, that light up if a car is coming to close behind. Like in european models 😭
2021 Audi Q5 has a MAJOR design flaw and a SIGNFICANT SAFETY ISSUE that Audi is fully aware of, doesn’t have a fix yet, so haven’t issued a recall or informed exiting owners. What’s worse is that they are still selling the car without disclosing the problem to prospective owners.
Very thorough, helpful, clear, non-jargon(y), and balanced/unbiased review! I will say the B&O sound system is underrated here and a huge upgrade. It was a deal breaker for me compared to the standard radio system in the base model- especially if youre going for a more sporty experience/vibe. #imisslex
After 5 months, suddenly malfunction on everything, break, steering, wiper etc. I don’t know what’s going with Audi. Too much sensor and software I guess.

Maybe it was just your sound equipment, but that seemed pretty loud for a luxury car - both road noise and engine noise.
It was because 50 decibels is really good. I have one and its very quiet

Mazda will release the next generation CX-5 in 2022 or 2023, with hybrid and inline-6 variants.
@@guillaumedeschenes6437 That's right. As of now, the CX-30 is the better car as it has upgraded tech. When the CX-5 gets its refresh, it will likely be the best of the Mazda line once again. I will likely stick with Mazda. I don't think I'm a luxury car customer. I'm really happy with Mazda.

Don't like the fact that the infotainment screen is just tacked on there instead of being integrated into the dash like most of their other models. Just looks lazy.

I have a 2018 SQ5 Prestige and I love it. I must say though this 2021 has the UGLIEST front headlights and rear taillights. Looks like a Q3. Really disappointing.
Too bad the north american model doesn't have the adaptive OLED taillights, that light up if a car is coming to close behind. Like in european models 😭

On the front bumper, passenger side, near the fog lights, there is a small square-ish section that hides something, what is it ?
The fog lights are inside of the headlight module. So what I think you are seeing are the safety system sensors inside of the chrome

2021 Audi Q5 has a MAJOR design flaw and a SIGNFICANT SAFETY ISSUE that Audi is fully aware of, doesn’t have a fix yet, so haven’t issued a recall or informed exiting owners. What’s worse is that they are still selling the car without disclosing the problem to prospective owners.
What’s the issue?
Very thorough, helpful, clear, non-jargon(y), and balanced/unbiased review! I will say the B&O sound system is underrated here and a huge upgrade. It was a deal breaker for me compared to the standard radio system in the base model- especially if youre going for a more sporty experience/vibe. #imisslex

After 5 months, suddenly malfunction on everything, break, steering, wiper etc. I don’t know what’s going with Audi. Too much sensor and software I guess.
