I think you should be ashamed of using chainsaw and plastic tarps. Very DISAPPOINTING. I switched off immeditely when I sawe this.
I'll never understand why so many of these cabin builds, across all channels, seem to favor building in a ravine. I mean, you do realize how that ravine was cut, right? By water action, by runoff? And you're going to put your shelter in the path of that flow, like a dam? I mean, I get it. If you're going to make a dugout, the sides of a ravine seem to provide a way to avoid some digging. But all the plastic sheeting in the world is not going to keep that shelter dry, or mold-free. I guess building it was just for purposes of the video views. And for the chainsaw commercial....
Basically building a well here folks
Waste of time
Glad I'm not the only one who thinks this. First thing I thought is it's only any good till the first rain shower
I know that I wouldn’t be caught in that place, to dark.
I too wondered how this dwelling would handle the run off from a rain storm. It will turn into a great Reservoir.
Cabin is a good escape from the busy world at least til the next heavy rain event comes ashing down the hill.
Yup..... _always_ address the issues of channeling rainwater _and_ drainage when building this style of shelter.
😂 Cabin or bunker?
@@danmiller6320 Wading pool
The screws & expanding foam had me wincing!
The crocs and shorts had me 😓
Great 👌
How are you keeping the rain runoff from flooding the cabin? You built the cabin in a hillside gully.
😂 it's a bunker to me.
Beautiful ❤️😻❤️
Yea, I always wear my shorts and a pair of Croc's whenever I use my chain saw.......just seems so...organic !
I believe i'd hire a couple of hard working lizards from the local truck stop to decorate my cozy cabin in da Voods ! I'd want to use a lizard sandwich (i'm da meat and they're the bread) to stay warm in my hobbit house !
I always find it weird when a guy builds a cabin in the woods using only hand tools. They must have to edit down a month of footage for some of those.
I was thinking the same thing brave or not to smart
"And this is very, very important kiddies. Make sure you build your forest survival cabin close to the nearest Home Depot."
Ha ha ha ha....
Good working in the cold forest
Amazing vlog
Great video 👍
❤❤❤ good
Good ❤❤
Amazing video
Beautiful
Great🎉
Well done
Wonderfull
It's always so comforting to see a warm space in Nature, in what could quickly become a hostile environment, in very bad weather. There are so many scenes of cooking tasty meals, playing with the dog, and so on. But how come no one ever shows what it is like to have to take a crap at -40, in 100km winds, when it is snowing?
Always look on the bright side...
Amazing
I'm so glad it was explained that a door was installed with hinges for easy access. I never knew what hinges were for up until now. Also. I'm glad the concept of a window was explained.
Brought to you by Fiskars and Stihl, log lined swimming pool. We can’t wait to see the update after the spring thaw.
Good
Nice
It was interesting till it became a STIHL Chainsaw commercial.
Kinda convenient how all those logs
are basically perfect ...
😂that was the creators design
Wow fantastic
Real Experte! Some Simple Tools. and the Pool is ready ..
you are the 2nd UA-camr today wearing crocs while cutting and building a shelter.
Even with some of the criticism I think it was a kickass build. Took time and patience to build. And talent. It was a dugout English basement with a shelter around it. 99 percent of the population wouldn’t and couldn’t accomplish what you did. Good job!
Good job b ok go a while but after a good rain it wood probly all pretty much go to shhit
Keep up the good work. The complaints in the comments are getting you paid. I like your style.
I would love to build something like that in my backyard. Excellent work well done.👍
good job
Underground Heated Cabin? Did you mean your underground future flooded cabin?
Moldy sauna😆
Love from Sri Lanka ❤ 🇱🇰 🎊
Love From Pakistan❤ 🇵🇰
that is basically a finnish bunker.. works like a charm. But apparently you do not worry about snow or water, otherwise you would not have built that in a pit that invites water to pour in from all the sides. I stopped when urethane was used
Nice bunker.
plastic sheets + polyurethan foam = ecofriendly. Sure?
I really wanted to see what was in the thumbnail for this video
Cool idea. 😊
While I was scrolling through the comments I noticed with your hard work and also recording it nobody ask ?how many years did it take to have created such a magnificent structure ?
Man this was fun and you worked hard but you built it in a washout. Mold and water.
Usually this type video shows the erecting of a temporary shelter but your underground cabin should be around for a while. 🏆
Impressive build enjoyed that cheers for sharing 👍
I like watching these videos this is basically what you would have to do if you was to go to a new world new planet
Using Finnish shovel and looked like a Finnish axe as well. I approve.
Cool
I really like the rounded part there that's original dude. ❤. Is it really really warm
That set up on your own property near deer blind would be killer
Very smart of you to put your username on the screen throughout the whole video. (I advice all to do that). There is a LOT of thief and scammers stealing videos here on UA-cam and re-name them and posting them on Facebook because Facebook/Meta do NOT CARE!!!!!!!!!!! A lot of work and it went out very well.
Bigfoot says thanks for the room.😅
I love what you did with this one
Waooo❤
Very nice! But how you prevent flooding?
I do believe that this is the first time I have EVER seen someone wearing crocks and operating a chain saw….😳
Whenever I see forts made this way, they're always so small. I'd love to see someone build one in ground at least three times this big. Make it a hobbit house
A frigid cold snowy night is when I'd like a shelter like this. But the next morning, after sitting around for an hour or two, I'd be ready to go home. You don't need to excavate an underground cabin in order to unwind - a 5 km walk in the great outdoors will do it.
WOW, nicht schlecht du Experte, 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Pretty good job, would like to see if thawing snow or thunderstorms would damage it.
Get some work boots on and some chaps and some safety gear on while running that chainsaw and you'll get more likes safety first all respect
Beat me to it
Thanks dad
MELT
He just doing photos opps. 3 other smiled guys off camera doing all the real work
Skiled
I like it when they make their shelters with a machete axe but not with a lock.
I agree the ms180 is a good little chainsaw. Personally, I like my Stihl 021, 024 or 026 chainsaws for small work and my GFB small Forest axe for light axe work with my 4# True Temper for heavier work.
👍
I think maybe building this in the side of the slope or even better yet, on top of the slope ?!!!?? Why would you ever put a shelter in a snow melt/rain run off cut or ditch ?????
Just here for the comments. Not dissapointed. lol
Good use of safety wear 😂
Lekker milieu vriendelijk de schuim
How long did it actually take you to make & is it warm inside?
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Great job
Don’t listen 2 the jerks
I Like it
Nice safety goggles and safety shoes and chaps.
Always soft base sandy soil .Where I live in my property you need a backhoe to dig a decent hole it's all Rock based impossible to use a small shovel and pick
In the spring. How do you stop the melting snow from flooding the dugout?
wow🙂🙂🙂
Crocs smh otherwise 👍🏼👍🏼
🎉
to day in my home it is -25C with the wind - 34. the ground is frozen 3ft deep so good luck digging in that without a backhoe. After 45 min my hands were freezing with mits on
Respectfully. That might fill up with water during thaw and spring. That whole hill side will run water to that low area the dig was started in. Idk tho. The design looks decent enough
Despite all the comments ,about flooding being possible, how will you minimize the possibility of that becoming a problem in heavy rain. Also!! How did this actually take to build?? I'm guessing 10 days with 12 hour days.❤ i would have made it working for a month. I'm slow. And the crocs??? Were they made with a steel toe front?
Probably more than 10 days we saw the seasons change.
"Let's build a shelter today" Three seasons later the "30" days to complete it were done.......
I hope he reroutes the water flow that will be coming down that little valley or he will have a nice little swimming pool in a few months.
When you select a site for your tent to spend the night, you select a slightly raised ground that the water, rain, will flow away from your tent,, not under it. Siting a house is no different. Building code requires a positive slope away from the home AND swales or water channels that will direct the water away. You absolutely do not site a tent or fixed home in a ravine with water shed directing rain into the home. 1:41 into the video and it pains me to see him constructing a swimming pool or in cattle country it is called a tank, where rain will collect and stay and cattle can use it as a source. Live in it, no,, swim in it.

Ah, so I'm just walking in the forest, and oh no, I suddenly want to survive. Therefore, I should always carry in my back pocket a chainsaw (but it must be a STIHL!), a shovel, an axe, two handfuls of nails, and 20 meters of plastic sheeting. Pfff... :D
Please avoid use of captions on video. Put them in the description instead - it's distracting and takes away from the enjoyment of the video.
You do what you want, it is your body.
I miss my right thumb flash pad. My thumb bone is right under the skin.
A branch I cut up in a tree caught and dragged the chainsaw into my leg. My finger was already off, so my jeans caught and I ended up scraped, no blood.
I am sure ignoring all the safety tips men have built up in the past 100 years is a productive path for you.
What could go wrong?
West of wood 🪵🪓
I like your work and words
Sounds like a Stihl dealer.
Any time you have to move a chainsaw like it is a hand saw to get it to cut - it is dull and needs sharpening!😮
