Thank you for the excellent instructions. My Acer was purchased in 2017 but was never booted up after the first startup. So the battery , like the laptop is NEW but quite locked and won't take a charge. I couldn't read so muck as a millivolt on my Fluke DVM. Considering that the battery was virtually new I considered Defibrillating the battery pack. I shit canned that idea because I'm nearly 78 years old and my old tired eyes don't like microscopic electronics. I wasn't even aware of the BIOS battery until I watched your video. It too is almost dead. It measures only 1.035 volts. I ordered them both from Amazon. Thanks Again! Wakodahatchee Chris

Hello, as my current laptop display has deadpixels and backlightbleeding, I thought of replacing the screen with the display of some older laptop, so I opened the display panel and I tried to detach the 40 pin cable, but it didn't come. After trying to detach for a long time, as it didn't detach, I gave up and I put everything back in place and when I switched the screen on, just a black screen appeared. What might be the problem. Please respond. These local repair shops charge too much and they are not geniune.

🫠Regarding your question, sometimes when the power regulator on board ( a chip) doesn't open, as it acts like a gate, it is stock. you can try this steps: power down the laptop, open the back panel, disconnect the charger and battery press and hold the power button for 30sec, then plug the charger and wait 20sec then you will need to power the laptop (place it on its side) and one in the windows then plug in the battery connector and wait 10sec and it should start detecting and charging. cheers🍻
A friend’s Acer laptop is stuck in BIOS and the only thing the boot sector shows is a choice between “Abled & Disabled” and it doesn’t matter which one you choose! Any idea what is going on?

Why would the battery not charge? I followed your instructions exactly. The battery was working before. I was only trying to reset the laptop.

you may have a bad bios and needs to be reprogrammed or replaced, this happens often to my clients.
