This took me 4-months to finish. Still crying. Thank you Mr. Bloom. You're a good man.
What a beautiful way to promote the cause of the Skiathos Cats. The way you put this together was amazing. You are to be commended for your work and your commitment to the cause. I will be donating to this cause and the only reason that I am is due to your work. Well Done Philip
Adorable. We visited Skiathos in 2001 ( the week 9/11 happened) and were concerned for an emaciated donkey turned loose and left to roam. The lady from the dog sanctuary took him in and named him “Doughnut”. Sadly some time in the winter he escaped and was found dead on The beach. This must be the same lady as I can’t recall her name. What a wonderful person to do this for cats.
Philip never fails to make my heart melt
Truely special work by a deeply caring person. Thanks for this emotional story! I would love to see a follow up to the story of Sharon and her new place..
Heiner B. Thank you. I was planning on being there now to document the new place but due to the virus everything is up in the air. The cats and the charity were evicted late last year. They are currently on neighbouring land temporarily. They have a place they want to buy but everything has closed down so it’s not good.
I did film another connected film called “Charmolipi” in August. You should watch that.
Thank you!
Philip Bloom Thanks for the answer! I really hope things are going to improve soon. I have seen Charmolipi! It’s heartbreaking.. Very emotionally touching. And beside the storyline also very nicely made..
I've just adopted a young chap from Skiathos - he was found in a car engine in August 2018. This documentary has given me so much more background about what Sharon and her volunteers do. It's amazing. Thank you :)
Anne C what’s his name?
Philip Bloom Fili - he’s a tabby, I was hoping I might see him in your filming but I don’t think he was featured. Might you have met him?
Anne C so when did you get him? This was filmed in July. If he was found in August i may have met him later though.
@@philipbloom Sorry for late reply, I haven't got him yet, he has been fostered with Nina since he was found.
Anne C I met him! I have some lovely photos of him! Drop me an email and I will send them to you. Mail@philipbloom.net
This is THE video I’ve been waiting for! Thank you so much!
This has been an emotional roller coaster of a series. Excellent work, Philip!
thanks you Andrew
Great work Philip. I’m Carolin’s husband. Thank you for featuring Tommy and Carolin. She is a wonderful woman and lives life with her heart. Tommy has brought something special into our lives. For anyone that reads this please consider adopting.
Craig Williams thanks Craig. Tommy is such a special cat. Thank you both for giving him his forever home
So much love in this series. Saw the first photos of Harriet at home: what a beatiful ending.
Thank you for your love for animals Philip.
I don't usually leave comments on videos, but I have to on this one.
I was gripped from the first part and have been in love with these little kittens ever since. The work you have done to try and raise the profile of the work
these guys are doing is fantastic, so thank you.
You've taken me on an emotional ride the whole way through & I was so pleased you adopted Harriet in the end, that really did put a smile on my face.
I am thinking of a way that I might be able to help over in the UK, potentially setting up a shelter who might be able to have a little more resource to help home the cats, rather than Sharon working tirelessly on her own. I will send you an email.
Thank you again Phillip. A wonderful, moving story.
James McKinven thank you so much James
I really enjoyed this series. A great eye opener to a situation that has such a large impact on these cats life. So happy for Harriet!
The beauty of Philip's shots and the storytelling is undeniable. One thing I have a hard time understanding though, is why the cats are more worthy of life than the countless animals that are processed at the facility to provide the cat food. I know we are all hypocrites, I'm not trying to make a stand here (I HAVE a cat!), it's just food for thought.
Varey Sound well for sure. I have personally stopped eating meat not just because of the way they are treated but because I am an animal lover. Cats are of course carnivores, unlike us. I would love there to be readily available cat food that is from farms that treat animals well. My problem at home is my cats don’t like them which is bloody annoying. They only like the crap like whiskas and felix!
Praise God for you and the work you do for these most precious cats.
beautiful story. As a cat father of two, I always look out for cats in need. Helpfully my wife and I can visit Skiathos!
Nice work! Heart-touching. Thank you for the effort, Philip Bloom. I just donated to the linked charity in hope everything will work out for Sharon and all the cats.
Wonderful film. It brought tears to my eyes. A story beautifully told. My thoughts go out to the cats on Skiathos and hopefully we all can help make a change by donating to Sharon. Thank you Philip.
Hi Mr. Philip, I really love what you do. Thank you for sharing!
Having adopted a stray cat recently I feel the love he gives me every single day. I now take care of two other stray kittens and will probably adopt them too! Great series Mr.Bloom, greetings from Greece and my Greek cat named Lucky!
elias balodimas thank you Elias and Lucky!
Omg Philip this one has just had me in floods of tears. Such sadness but I'm absolutely delighted that you got the kittens to Sharon and are adopting Harriet. I really really hope someone can find it in their heart to adopt Moo and some of the other cats. I just wish you had found Gingernuts. I doubt I'll be able to sleep now after watching this. I'll be back in September and will feed any strays I encounter. Well done for highlighting their plight in the 3 films. You are an absolute diamond. X
The ending actually made me cry a little! I'm so excited for Harriet's future! I've been thinking about going to volunteer on Skiathos for a while now, I think I'll have to actually stop procrastinating and do it!
Beautiful in every way... thank you for caring for Gods creatures... blessings
That moment you reveal you're adopting Harriet is perfect. Excellent story telling. Poignant and cinematically beautiful.
Flour City Bread Co. thank you very much!
Thank you very very much for these films. It makes me very emotional! Stunning job, you are inspiration to me!
I am bawling. Thank you for this whole series. I am so glad that you are taking Harriet home! I hope that one day you will find out what happened to ginger nuts. God bless you Philip. ❤️
Thank you for that most remarkable journey
Really touched my heart
When you said "hello" to Moo, he said "hello" back. I like the name Severus. It's suits him with his black fur cape. Sharon is a very special human being to be a surrogate mother to the all of these cats in need. God bless her. So thrilled Harriet has a forever home with you! :)
Fantastic story very moving, great work and great filming. Found this from your review for the Mavic 2 which was great. Fantastic style of filming. Cheers
Emmanuel Filia thanks Emmanuel!
God damnit you made me cry again philip! I hope a lot will adopt all the cats!
Jezus Christ Philip......so well done, you really know how to trigger the emotions. The Ginger balls Thread is heart breaking....hope you find him and please let us know if you do. Thanks
The love you managed to show made us smile, laugh & cry. We have a 7 year old cat with brain damage and not sure how she would cope with another cat, but we are heading to Skiathos later in the year, solely as a result of your films.
Fantastic filming, presenting and editing! As a budding film maker, can I ask what you used for filming?
❤️Master Series, love all the cats!
lovely series much love and keep up the amazing work!
Game Over thank you!
Mad respect Philip! Keep it up. Donation done.
Thomas Penton thank you Thomas!
Moo is such a gorgeous cat!I'd adopt him in blink of an eye!
Thank you for your videos, even though I do not like so many cats and do not speak almost any English, the images, always with a lot of quality, give us calm and serenity. Thank you and congratulations for the excellent work.
I’ve been sobbing right here in the corner 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭.
😻🥹😭🥹😻 I’ve finally watched your first four Skiathos cats/kittens videos in the right order, after starting with watching Charmolipi a few days ago (and crying buckets!)
My sweet cat Nika was sleeping in the same room as me (in apparently the best bed of the house - the circle concave cardboard scratcher bed that both of them fight over!), and she got very concerned about some of those squeaky lil kittens… as a result, I’ve watched the past couple of these videos with her curled up next to my legs* with all her paws resting on my foot, in that lovely state of being semi-asleep but purring constantly, and it’s definitely been comforting to have her near when watching some of the sad moments 🥰
I’m sad that you didn’t get to see Gingernuts again on your visit here 😢 I’ve got my own big ginger-butt Harvey (who I’m using a disparaging nickname for because he’s been yelling at me for the past 20 mins to go and open the front door for him to patrol the hallway of my apartment building, and bouncing between scratching at the monitor on my desk and chewing on bits of my dish drying rack on the draining board… aka, being a menace), but I’ll give him an extra special chinscritch in honour of your Gingernuts 🧡
* she doesn’t sit on my lap much anymore - strictly only when I’m sitting on the toilet 😹 or sometimes sitting at my desk (I think because both are places where my lap is more “stable” and in a more fixed position, compared to either on the sofa or while lying in bed!). Both my cats used to be big into laps, and my working theory is that my lap just isn’t comfy for them as a place to curl up anymore now they’re bigger; strengthened by the fact her brother Harvey went off them a lot earlier than she did, and he got much bigger than her earlier on, and has been 8kg of very long cat for a long time now! They’re only about to turn 3, so they’re still babies! Just very big babies because they’re Maine Coons 😹**
** I do feel somewhat guilty admitting to having two pedigree cats I bought from a breeder in the comments of such a beautiful and heartbreaking series of videos about the stray cats on Skiathos in need of adopting into safe homes… I absolutely fell in love with so many of these cats throughout these videos, and it’s so clear to see how amazing and loving they are. I’m horrendously allergic to most cats, and it’s only in the past 10 years I’ve discovered I’m not allergic at all to Ragdolls or Maine Coons (while my other cat allergies are still very present), and I didn’t get my own cats until I was coming up on 40 (not counting the three I had when I was a kid, who were neither of those breeds so it was a special kind of torture, the kind that every cat-loving cat-allergy person knows… and I get so many well-meaning comments online from people saying “just take an antihistamine!”, like I’m not already taking 2-4 prescribed allergy/asthma meds every day, depending on the season! 😸). I just couldn’t take the chance of adopting a rescue cat where there was any possible ambiguity of their breed and who I might discover I’m allergic to and can’t continue to live with after I’d already fallen in love with them and they’d made themselves at home, and then have to force the trauma of yet another relocation on them, but I *very* much support adopting rescue cats for all who can!
I’ve been out of work for 6 months and am at the point of funnelling all my funds into keeping the roof over our own heads and food in our bellies, but I’ll be back to donate to the charity when I’m able ❤ (and I haven’t yet watched the full videos for Harriet and Jimmy, so I’ll be back for those much sooner!)
@@EmmaVB82 damn! That’s a hell of a comment!
I hope you get on top of things. I am going through a similar thing.
Nothing wrong with having pedigrees. I have both! :)
Poor cats. :(
God bless you Philip.
A "p" is missing in the link for the charity.
Beautifully made series. Sad and harsh but that's reality for those stray cats.
Hope they have a better future. And every bit of respect for Sharon.
A happy ending for Harriet! Hurray! Fantastic work Phillip!
Great work!
Awesome series Phillip. Will you do a future update if and when the new sanctuary / cat home is completed?
Lee Bailes yes for sure!
What a lovely mini-series, Phil. Went straight to my heart being a cat-lover myself and I'll make sure to send some money to Sharon and her wonderful organisation. Glad to hear you and Harriet will be together soon :-)
Tony Lorenzo cheers Tony. Appreciate it!
SWEET ADORABLE BABIES!
Great job, I love the cats.......
I love your Think Tank bungie wrist bands. ;)
breaks my heart
Incredible work! What cameras did you use in this film?
The real life in a great film production.
Well done you, Mr Bloom!
I’m pretty sure the dislikes come from people who dislike their life in reality, not from dog lovers.
Good going, Philip.
Liked the editing Philips :)
Fantastic video. I wouldn’t mind a few midrolls, if that was something you were hesitant on doing
7:50 i didnt understood: do they threw dead cats in trash bins? actually dead animals, and of course humans too, should be buried in gardens or forests bcs that would be the best way to "give it back to the nature". Dead bodies are like fertilizer and the flowers and trees have their benefits from them.
😭
Superb! Which drone did you use ?
Maybe a DJI, Mavic or Air ;)
all beach type shots and car shots are parrot anafi. rest are mavic pro
I'm sorry Philip, but I had to stop watching at that dead cat. I've lost three cats, two stray kittens to worms and one that went for an outing and never returned. It just reminds me of them too much.
I don't understand how you coped. Must've been very hard for you...
Akshay Anand i understand but it’s worth continuing as we address coping emotionally with this and so much more. Plus something happy happens next
Philip Bloom I will eventually work up the nerve to watch it, once I get over the bad feelings. It is your work after all(I'd never miss it), and I respect you a lot, especially for what you're doing here.
Hello, you was prevented at the beginning.
