- How to make pillow beads - Pillow beads made from paper strips are very pretty but they can be difficult to thread on 1mm elastic, unless you follow my method of how to thread pillow beads.
Last May, I shared my video on how I created threading holes in my pillow beads so I can thread them on 1mm elastic from corner to corner horizontally.
In this video about how to make pillow beads from paper strips, I show you how to easily make threading holes from corner to corner diagonally.
This is a full tutorial showing how to make pillow beads using my free printable paper bead strips, available over on my website:

You can download the free printable (and many others) to make your own pillow beads. All the strips are different and all the designs are taken from my own original paintings.
So you can mix and match the strips to make your pillow beads unique to you.

I love the items you make! What if you made pillow beads with quilting fabric… like fat quarters … maybe in jewel toned batik. Or with plastic strips like overhead projector film. You could color the plastics with overhead markers and drip water, or with sharpies and spritz with alcohol. I also thought about white paper beads and dipping them in colors (maybe food die or watercolors); or black and white patterned beads and spraying them with alcohol inks. Then you would only be covering the outside of the already rolled bead and not waste your alcohol ink as much.
Many thanks for your contribution Ceni - some very good ideas. Thanks for watching and taking part. 🙏💕
That technique is fascinating!!

Oooh!!! So yummy! Looking at these gorgeous creations I saw in my mind a "giant" diagonal pillow bead as a pendant. What do you think? Gonna try these too! Blessings to you & yours!❤
Hi Chalane, I smiled when I saw you’d said yummy - that’s how I react when I get new paints! 😂 And that’s a great idea to make a pendant from a big pillow bead. Let me know if you make one, you might start a new trend! Thanks so much for watching and contributing - it’s always much appreciated. 🙏💕

What kind of paper are you using? It looks glossy, like laminated paper. Just found you’re channel and quickly subscribed!
Hi and thanks for watching - much appreciated. It’s glossy photo paper - 180gsm (49lb). It works really well - you can still seal the beads if you want to but I don’t always if I use glossy paper. Thank you for subbing too. 🙏
@@RainbowLane thank you for the info!
You are welcome🤗
Dove trovo la carta colorata?
Se vuoi la carta che uso nel video puoi scaricarla dal mio sito. Il link nella descrizione sotto il video.
Can or should these be glazed?
Hi Allie, yes thay can be. Depends what paper you use. I often use glossy paper and I don't glaze them but if you want your beads to be splash proof you can use a sealer or varnish. I sometimes use clear nail polish. Thanks for watching and reaching out.🙏
