people must forget that the point of music, is to sound good lol its not about who can play the most complicated shit. Lee shows complextion in all songs, and in the new album he shows more of how he can write catchy/more melodic riffs. this is amazing
Stop comparing Lee to Jason cut the guy some slack every guitar player has his own capabilities no one is better than anyone just appreciate that these guys write awesome music in there own way and to back my statement up Lee was one of the founding members of born of osiris and released 2 albums before jason joined them during the discovery erra
+Sikthy yeah man, too much negativity from a lot of folks, metal should be about fun and energy, a liberation from the routine and the ordinary and this band has made some solid music, and music that requires some serious stamina.
It can get annoying when people start comparing former members to new members in terms of talent. That’s not what it’s about! Appreciate the music for gods sake. Every musician is different
This song makes me wanna take a shot of whiskey and play through Halo 1 or 2 with an old friend. There’s something nostalgic about this. I don’t know what it is, but I approve. Not many songs do that for me: speak of a better time, especially when it comes to friends.
I like how people are complaining about the song. He posted on the BOO Facebook page and his personal page asking what songs you guys would wanna see a play through of and this is what you chose so stop bitching.
I don't quite understand why there's so many hate comments. If you don't like the music then go and listen to music you like, don't stick around and gum up the comment section for other people who have differing music tastes.
Honestly - i was never a fan of "Discovery" album. That's without doubt - stellar work, but mine favourites are still "A Higher Place" (you really got high listening to this) and "Tomorrow we die Alive". And Lee is god damn badass guitar player. In case everybody mentioned Jason here- he's cool, but sometimes it feels he tries too much.
Really? Exhilarate? Come on, man. This song doesn't showcase Lee's full ability. Playthroughs of songs like Two Worlds of Design and Automatic Motion would be awesome.
I like how people are complaining about the song. He posted on the BOO Facebook page and his personal page asking what songs you guys would wanna see a play through of and this is what you chose so stop bitching.
I'm not necessarily 'bitching'. This is probably the least technical and least interesting BoO song. I'm surprised nothing off of The Discovery was the most requested as it was their best-received album and how smartly composed it was.
David Fryer both albums are on par with eachother. And maybe because people enjoy Exhilarate and Lee enjoys it. But he's doing 2 more so far, Illusionist and Recreate.
Ive seen BOO 7 times since 2009 and they've always been top notch. People complaining that he sucks must of seen them on an off nite or somethin lol. And this is cool but i would of liked live audio of the playthrough
All of you who are saying this sucks, or that he's playing it wrong, or that this album sucks. Really don't have a right to say anything. If you don't have a record label backing you in your music career then don't say shit.
Is not leaning instruments on walls like the ones in the background a good way to fuck up intonation? As if there isnt enough stress on the neck as is........
Hi id like to learn to play this song..ive never used a guitar before what do you suggest is the best way to go about this should i get a guitar teacher and get gim to teach me or can you be self taught?
I have a question that would be awesome if I could get answered. I have a music man JPXI and I want to down tune but it will only fit a 56, maybe 60, gauge string stock. Did you put new tuners in or drill holes in the stock ones for bigger gauge? Also what gauge string do you use? it doesn't look like the nut would fit much bigger strings, did you have to file all the slots or only the low strings? thanks, P.S for everyone I know this is Sumerian records channel and not Lee McKinnie's but still though I would try.
I don't care if you guys dont agree, but I really like the tone and style of lees guitar playing. If he sounded exactly like jason and did exactly what jason does he wouldnt be original.
Mike Raines He doesn't write most of the music, Cameron does. Cam wrote most of their newest album Soul Sphere, just look at his UA-cam channel and Instagram page. He plays better than Lee imo.
First thing, he did an amazing job. This guy is a true inspiration and one of my heroes. TDWA was probably one of their best albums. And everyone on here talking shit and all that, why don't you single handedly write an album, tour, be on the road 24/7, and playing lead and rhythm at the same time. I seen them play live a month ago, Lee nailed the Follow The Signs solo live, I was actually amazed and talked to him after the show and gave him props. GOOD JOB LEE! Fuck the haters! You're doing fine without Jason. Oh and for the record, Lee is better than Jason :3
I agree completely. BOO was good before Jason and they still are. Lee nails those solos ever show, people just love to hate. Jason gets way too much credit for The Discovery when in actuality he only contributed a few of the songs. Lee and Cameron have always been the main writers of BOO.
Andre Gonzalez Yeah Jason does probably get too much credit but I think it'd be nice if he was still in the band. They just seemed to be a good fit musically.
Chriddof Roy Uh... I've saw them live too. I do like them but you gotta realise sometimes your favorite band is not exactly flawless. And funny enough my name is not Bunters lol. Is that even a name? What the fuck name is Criddof anyway?
I feel like these would be more beneficial if the playthrough (Lee's guitar) were a little louder. The video never seems to be perfectly synced with the track, which is fine, but its hard to follow when you don't hear the guitar.
I can't even here is guitar. I hate when bands do playthroughs and record the guitar separate, anx mix it so you can't hear the playthrough. If I want to here the recorded guitar, I'll listen to the song. All you need is a guitar and an amp for a playthrough.
It's part of our culture here. Similar to how other cultures prefer having their shoes off indoors. It mostly depends on the household in question, however. My family prefers leaving shoes on indoors, my friend however wants them all at the door.
Like Unkawaii said, also depends on what kind of flooring you have. For example, wood flooring makes up the majority of my house so wearing footwear is not a big deal. However if I had carpet or a lot of white tile, that would almost require me to keep my shoes off indoors.
It's a very varied thing. Some people are ok with it, some aren't. In my household for example, you're expected to take your shoes off when you come in.
He can play Exhilarate but he SUCKS at playing the solo live, and i even don't want to think when he plays Follow the signs solo. Start practising again Lee!

+Sikthy thank you, for a comment that actually has some sense. I agree, the two shouldn't be compared. they are both great musicians
Sikthy to be fair though, not all guitarists are equal. but yeah Lee is good.
It can get annoying when people start comparing former members to new members in terms of talent. That’s not what it’s about! Appreciate the music for gods sake. Every musician is different
@@mkmaudsley8381 well said mate 👏
First time i've heard this band. Love it!
Lee is so underrated... Raw talent!
This song makes me wanna take a shot of whiskey and play through Halo 1 or 2 with an old friend. There’s something nostalgic about this. I don’t know what it is, but I approve. Not many songs do that for me: speak of a better time, especially when it comes to friends.
Same bro minus the whiskey lol
I'd dab instead of drink but I feel you.
That whammy bar bend is BRUTAL!!!!
one of their best songs
i didn't know Jeff Kiesel could play guitar like that
HAHAHA
Guess who's a Kiesel artist now?
Caster090 He's been a Kiesel artist. Like way before this original comment was posted lol.
Love the solo on this tune...clean tone!!!!
Great playtrough! He looks like a machine. Super tight!
I really like this solo. Great job, Lee!
Just.. Amazing
This band has been my all time favorite since the beginning.
I'd like to see some drum playthroughs!
Kris Cargill There are some drum covers he posted on his own page, go look around.
That'd be cool. Apparently their drummer was taught to play by a guy with one hand.
Hank Hill whaaaaaaaat, really?! That's so badass!
I like how people are complaining about the song. He posted on the BOO Facebook page and his personal page asking what songs you guys would wanna see a play through of and this is what you chose so stop bitching.
I never chose a thing if it was up to me it would have been a song off the Discovery for a play through.
Then you should have left a comment.
One of my all time favourites. Rich in the swag department.
This guy gave me his pick at a concert in Orlando last year!
do someone knows what lens Is that, i like the way this fish eye looks?????????
Alexander Levi probably a go pro
My favorite solo by them tbh
One of my favorite songs off the album
Am I seriously the only person in the world who loves all of BoO's Albums including this one?
The best song Born of osiris ever made, and awesome solo!!!
I don't quite understand why there's so many hate comments.
If you don't like the music then go and listen to music you like, don't stick around and gum up the comment section for other people who have differing music tastes.

Being better than everyone else is not trying too hard
Is that an AxeFx Ultra and an AxeFx II on the same rack? Im so confused...
lol it's an Axe. Does it matter?
Yeah it is. It looks like he is playing through the II.
I thought about it for a second. He might be using one strictly for his tone and the other to process effects. Possibly...
Really? Exhilarate? Come on, man. This song doesn't showcase Lee's full ability. Playthroughs of songs like Two Worlds of Design and Automatic Motion would be awesome.

Hey man I would choose discovery any day too no questions asked
David Fryer both albums are on par with eachother. And maybe because people enjoy Exhilarate and Lee enjoys it. But he's doing 2 more so far, Illusionist and Recreate.
Yea he posted on Facebook what his fans wanted him to play and they decided they wanted to hear Exhilarate, he didn't choose.
Ive seen BOO 7 times since 2009 and they've always been top notch. People complaining that he sucks must of seen them on an off nite or somethin lol.
And this is cool but i would of liked live audio of the playthrough
Somehow, he shreds, but doesn't lose the efficiency of the song! :) Love it! :)
Yeah he can shred even better than you do. That's why he plays in one of the top bands in the world. Btw, Thanks for noticing that. T
@@judsonchristudas no need to be toxic lol
Love this song
All of you who are saying this sucks, or that he's playing it wrong, or that this album sucks. Really don't have a right to say anything.

what pokeball you need to catch this machoke playing guitar ?
reyo dubon Pidgeotto
Marco po-low What?!
Marco po-low haha yeah
+reyomancer guitarball
egyptiangod ball
amazing guitarist
Dude hit the weights since this video
Is not leaning instruments on walls like the ones in the background a good way to fuck up intonation? As if there isnt enough stress on the neck as is........

Wish jason was back. Btw anyone know what they tune their 7 strings to?
I believe Drop G.
ZACK HWC is that GCGCFAD??
GDGCFAD actually!
Cool, a VIDEO of him playing with the album version of the song. Since when did a playthrough become a music video..
This is amazing.
I have a question that would be awesome if I could get answered. I have a music man JPXI and I want to down tune but it will only fit a 56, maybe 60, gauge string stock. P.S for everyone I know this is Sumerian records channel and not Lee McKinnie's but still though I would try.
Awesome
Now let's see you play the solo in Follow The Signs! haha
No please. After you. ;)
I'm not about to try and play it live and butcher it completely like he has done repeatedly. I've accepted the fact that I can't do it! haha
I was just fucking with you haha. I know I saw it live, it wasn't too great. But practice makes perfect.
i can. its tricky but it is a song he should practice more.
Wicked video, man!
Feel honored knowing that the Majesty 6 in the corner is currently hanging on my wall \m/
serious question... how do you get your hair to stay like that
i want that shirt ,where can i buy it :(
我想要這件衣服,哪裡可以買到?:(
looks like my highschool uniform XD
I am fucking love this band..
great guitarist! :X
This Dude Is A Badass
whats the point of this without the live audio?
shirt ?
I don't care if you guys dont agree, but I really like the tone and style of lees guitar playing. If he sounded exactly like jason and did exactly what jason does he wouldnt be original.
Noooo, he would be more original if there wasn't just 0-0-0-0-0-0 everywhere
So when did Corey from pawn stars pick up guitar? Damn.
what guitar is that
BOO...!! You're good, and you should feel good! :D Awesome
1:43 - 2:07 and 3:05 - 3:35

your blind. not for the whole song obviously. but from those times if you look and listen thats the tabs
you're* blind
And the pattern I typed is what he is playing, not 3 chugs over and over.
sorry its just so complicated with his right hand i just followed the left one
if it's that easy I would cover it...
it's funny all these people hating but yet I'd like to see them play and write as good as him.
Mike Raines He doesn't write most of the music, Cameron does. Cam wrote most of their newest album Soul Sphere, just look at his UA-cam channel and Instagram page. He plays better than Lee imo.
The 0' lord.
All Hail
Eduardo Wormittag hahaha trolololol
so I guess 0:29 are 0's? Ha try harder
how is his 7 string tuned?
+Rudegardt Britz I think it's drop G (GDGCFAD)... I might be wrong tho
+Edoardo Casini thanks :)
With a tuner
First thing, he did an amazing job. This guy is a true inspiration and one of my heroes. TDWA was probably one of their best albums. When you need to write an essay that long and blatantly say he nailed solos that he didn't, you know you're a branwashed fanboy.
***** Yeah that came out way wrong lol, I'm just saying he is playing Jason's and his parts live.
Chriddof Roy
Uh... I've saw them live too. I do like them but you gotta realise sometimes your favorite band is not exactly flawless. And funny enough my name is not Bunters lol. Is that even a name? What the fuck name is Criddof anyway?

Jason we miss you !!
This is cool and all, but can he play the ‘follow the signs’ solo?
is that a jp12-7?
I feel like these would be more beneficial if the playthrough (Lee's guitar) were a little louder. The video never seems to be perfectly synced with the track, which is fine, but its hard to follow when you don't hear the guitar.
why is he dressed like a chef
To deliver dem fresh riffs!
hahaha..
Very mellow
what tuning?
NIce!
esta no es absolution ?
Jesus fricking christmas man.......amazing
Ahhh I'm not reaally to blown away
This guitar playthrough sure was EXHILARATING.
So jason left before this album? Its clearly noticable how the lead guitar changed
I can't even here is guitar.

How about a Guitar Playthrough of Behold and XIV?
Born of Osiris' genre is awesomecore ;)
I think their music is still technical, they just became more mature about organizing the song structure.
It's just that Jason left
@@FredrickTalks but, I don´t get it. Jason left 10 years ago right?
Drop???
DJAJDJ123 Drop G on a seven string cuh
you might have found out since this comment is a lil bit old though haha
thanks SebastiantheBroseph
Gotchu my dude!
i really dont care what any says. i love the song and love the album. just my opinion.
I absolutely love Born. I just really feel like they need 2 guitarists. sounds way more full and diverse with 2.
Bad ass
Some people clearly don't understand the meaning of "playthrough"
Why do americans wear shoes indoor?
Ont - nice playfru!

Timmy Midhamn That's slightly a good question...
Idk why we do but then again I take my shoes off at everyones house LOL
It's a very varied thing. Some people are ok with it, some aren't. In my household for example, you're expected to take your shoes off when you come in.
Jason Richardson be like: "Now you have the ability I had when I was 6"
Jason was sweet, and now he's in Chelsea Grin.. Well not anymore!! Yes, he left Chelsea Grin..
+Sk8tr32111 HE WHAT?!
+Whyherro That's right mate. He quit due to "musical differences" and is now writing solo songs, which sound fucking beyond awesome!!
Jason is a band hopper who can't get along with people.
best comment in exsistance
Plus it looks fairly somple to play compared to many other songs
he play so "free", like so relax and stuff...
I have the same carpet! °.°
Everyone bitching in the comments about his playing ability could probably agree on one thing.. that studio setup is sick.
Nintendo, apps, minecraft, PLayskool blocks, and kiddie comic book music like this.
I like how the look on his face is like "yeah, I could do this in my sleep"
fuck yeah LEE, You write awesome music.
Throw me in the Juuuuuuuuuuunnnnngggllle
The bass tone is amazing though haha
He can play Exhilarate but he SUCKS at playing the solo live, and i even don't want to think when he plays Follow the signs solo. Start practising again Lee!
i saw them live, he did a good performance
Look in UA-cam at every video of Follow the signs live since 2013, he plays it really bad.
when i saw them, 3 weeks ago, he nailed every solo
even illusionist.... sounded so sucky in the youtube live video... might be for the video and audio quality... dunno
He nailed every god damn solo when i saw them 2 weeks ago. They are insanely tight live.
Saw alot of playing that didnt match up with the audio track. Tsk tsk.
A little Petrucci fan out there hahahahaha
Awww damn... the level of intensity I needed from Metallica. Fuck it... Go Lee! Woohoo! 😊👍🏼
It would be pretty cool to jam with him
so serious
I want that Jagermeifter guitar in the right corner of the room.
Loving that the volume on Lee's actual guitar here is so low you can't hear it
