We are curious, how are you using our tutorials? Do you grab a piece of rope and then tie along? Let us know! We always love to hear your thoughts and all your feedback is highly appreciated.
I'm using this to attach a 50ft lead to my dog and I'll be on the other end. Since I have an extremely small yard/garden, it's my best option to let him run & play without losing him. Thank you!!
Thanks for slowing it down. I view this on my 📱& in the past I've had to take pics of several spots in a video to make sure I don't put the working end of the line over or under the standing line in the wrong direction. I like the way this knot loads. I made a nice lanyard for my saddle that I use as a bridge for my double technique climbing system. I used 2 Petzyl oval carabiners on the lanyard to attach to my saddle. I wipped both ends of the knot used red capillary throw line. It looks & works great.
Is this the best knot to use with a carabiner? I see a lot of them tied with that sort of coiled looking knot. I wanted to make a carabiner pulley set up for pulling about 200 lbs horizontally.
It is a knot that can be used. It depends on the application, type of rope and personal preference. For tree climbing, I either use the clove hitch or the anchor hitch. If it's just to hoist a heavy load, then you can use this one. After loading the carabiner can be removed which makes untying a breeze.
It's sometimes used as a termination knot but is difficult with a carabiner too get it tight. When using it for climbing as life support always use a tie off like the Yosemite bowline. However it's not recommended for life support as it's more difficult to tie and to inspect then the figure eight knot.

Is the bowline knot also a termination knot?

Thanks. Very easy
Thank you! We try to make it as clear as possible.
Good video
Glad you enjoyed it!
niceeee
And practical, but more difficult to tie than the anchor hitch
