I always love watching ur videos... Here i would like to ask a question in general... Whenever we talk about a homemaker... We praise her for all the household duties n chores that she does... But a working woman is also a homemaker who does all of that besides working as a professional. And both a full time homemaker and a working woman have house help to take care of at least basic chores. I do understand that a homemaker is looked down upon by some.. including herself...that she does not do anything.
If at all we compare... i just feel that in fact a middle class working woman is more burdened by household chores and professional work... Than a rich class homemaker who probably has house help for every little household chore. Of course managing n delegating household chores to house help is also a job in itself.
The only n d biggest difference is that a homemaker does not earn any money whereas a working homemaker earns money... This perhaps n unfortunately is d deciding factor for feeling inferior. I have played all d roles in my life from a working to a homemaker to a freelancer and personally i have experienced no difference in my lifestyle or thought process... Rather at least in my circle, i have seen working women overburdened (my own sister) n exhausted by doing double duties n homemakers having comparatively relaxed life...
So i get puzzled when a homemaker is looked at as someone who needs to be uplifted or valued more for all the work she is doing at home. Bcoz i have seen n done all that work before 9am and after 5pm... plus the 9 to 5 job... N in today's time fortunately most women do have d decision making power whether they want to do a job or not... So i think at least some homemakers should acknowledge the fact that they have a slightly more comfortable life than a working women who does both in d same amount of time. No intentions of hurting anyone's feelings bcoz am sailing in the same boat as everyone else... May be a little more blessed to have not faced typical orthodox male dominance in my family.

I am so so glad that you left this thought provoking comment Meghana. I so wish to answer, but it would take some time, so bear with me please. In phases, I will share my thoughts, a few personal musings, opinion, consideration.. whatever someone may wanna call it. Before I move, I want clear that fortunately or unfortunately I play both the roles like you, sometimes I am just a homemaker, sometimes I am just a full time working mother. So, here we go-
1. Many times (especially in today's world) those praises are empty except it's from a grown up or married daughter's to her mother. Before days it sounded like this- ghar ka kam!! Iss me kya badi baat hai!! But now many family members paise because it's a cool thing to say. But when it comes to play the role, chameleons are their best friends.
2. Just like you said, working women does everything, inside home and outside job. But homemakers only do the inside job, this whole perception is very VAGUE. Let's not generalize, all have a different family with different and specific circumstances. Family members expectations change according to the job or jobless status. As Wrk Wmn you still get some discounts (being specific) on house hold part but as hm mkr it's obvious for you at any point. We take pre-loaded holidays from office but how many times you have seen other members of the family said, ja simran, jee le apni zindagi??
You will see, many people will agree and many will disagree what I am saying here. You know why? We judge, we confront, we console as per our experience. Jo humne dekha hai hamare samne hote huye...

I agree with you. My mother and my elder sister both are homemaker. Indeed a working homemaker has double work to but a job gives them confidence, stability and reputation in her own family she got the power to take decision on her own atleast.. but these all things are highly subjective every family situations are different and either homemaker or working homemaker I do personally believe they are overburden with the work until family members realise

3. If I could, I would suggest every single woman to have a career , to earn, to have financial stabilization. But, as I said, I cannot generalize. We take decisions according to our circumstances. I didn't have a choice when I left my job, I had to. Life sometimes comes with no alternative. If you have a choice then don't leave your job.
4. Those homemakers have a slightly comfortable life where they live only with husband and children, where they don't have any responsibilities of in-laws, parents or relatives. This is what I have experienced. And how they tackle their mental health!! Another story. Here job holders have slightly better comfortable life. Do you agree?
5. This discussion can be considered as much needed one, should be ended with a good note 😊

I left my job to take care of family but continuous work load with two small kids, financial dependency and questions from near and dear ones sometimes demotivate me.. After my each cooking I use to clean the area then and there and before my sleep also I clean my kitchen neat and tidy fully wiped with disinfectant. After my each cooking I use to give myself a reward of taking rest like watching tv and eating dry fruit and fruits.
