Ya, this is one of my favorites. Wouldn't mind getting my hands if one of those in good shape. Would only use it to drive like that when I feel like it in the summer time.
To this day, this is still my favorite sounding street car. Nothing sounds as amazing as a V8 IMO! This is the best sounding V8 my ears have ever heard. In early 2002 sometime, a buddy of mine bought a Sonic Blue '03 Cobra. He got his Cobra so early that the chrome 17" wheels he ordered it with didn't come with the car lol. He had to wait like over six months or so before they were delivered to the dealer. I was driving a very rare, modded and extremely fun, silver frost with blue leather interior, '99 SVT Contour 5 speed manual with a Duratec 24v DOHC 2.5L V6 with 200 HP when stock. It had a KKM True-Rev CAI that grabbed air from the fender like the OEM. I made a custom heat shield blocking the left side and back of the open cone filter from the engine heat. It was far enough away anyway where it didn't need it badly until it got hot outside, but it definitely ensured and definitely helped to prevent the filter from sucking in hot air from the motor. It also had a Diablosport Predator 93 octane tune with a raised 7300 rev limiter from 6950... I shifted at 7100 at WOT. It also had an SHO shop larger 2.5" Y-Pipe, NGK Iridium spark plugs, custom MSD I believe, plug wires, a larger throttle body, larger 2.5" Borla exhaust system, Centerforce DF Clutch, Fidanza Aluminum flywheel, BAT 1" lower springs and strut mounts, Koni shocks 18" Enkei RS5 lightweight wheels with 225/40ZR Falcon Azenis tires all around, X-Drilled/Slotted rotors with Hawk Ceramic pads and SS brake lines. I had other light airflow mods, but it was so long ago that I can't remember. Anyway, later in 2003 we went to a dyno day meet at Mustang Magic on Long Island and my 3,000 pound SVT Contour put down 191 HP at the wheels @ 7000 rpm. Back then that wasn't bad for a fairly light and rather small naturally aspirated 2.5L V6 with a 4.06 geared manual trans sedan. A stock '99 SVT Contour puts down 165-170 HP at the wheels. Anyway, my friends bone stock '03 Cobra put down 372 HP @ the wheels with a very underrated 390 HP @ the crank factory rating lol. Good times.
I still can't get over the sound of superchargers, they're just incredible. If I ever find one in decent shape it'll make a hell of a replacement for my SS/SC.
+DRUMMINGANDDRIFTING I think he panicked when he misse and didn't kick the clutch all the way before he tried to hit it again. But, haven't we all done that at the very least once? Lol
As a sophmore in high school, I drooled when this cobras past by.. then this vid came out and I knew I had to have one, now I'm 25 and a proub owner of a 10th Ann KB cobra all because of this video
god i love this video. i could watch this all day..i like how it looks like he isnt even trying when he does the donuts...looks like when i do them in snow haha..no resistance
You know I am an all Mustang lover and I really love the car in this video but what gets me the most is how this guy just shows he aint afraid of that car at ALLL and he is not afraid to rip on it ha :)
they have cutouts that use a little electric motor to open and close it, so you just have a little y-pipe on each side with the catback on one end of the y, and the cutout on the other.
Supercharger is belt driven and has good low end torque without lag but gives up top end performance. Turbo uses exhaust gasses to spin the turbo and often has lag off the line. But it has good top end performance.
There stands ground that a lot of things are pointless, watching tv could be considered pointless. These things however, what he is doing to his car included. Serve a purpose of entertainment. Something that we enjoy doing. Because you don't like it doesn't make it more or less pointless. It served its purpose by keeping it's driver happy.
im 14, and i think these Mustangs are the only cars that appear to me, like really, even if i see a Ferrarie, im kindove like:" well, nice shape", but these ones are legit. Love it
200 of these views are pretty much from me. this is an amazing car. i have a 2000 v6 ( all i could afford but still got a mustang :} ) this is my dream car. love this body style for some reason. hoping to get one just like this in a few years.
It's not a matter of loudness merely stating that centrifical superchargers sound different than roots/twin screw superchargers and that's def a noise that roots/twin screws make.
this was joes mustang .... from mustang magic inc in long island new york he sold this car and bought a fairlane now ....this wasnt a regular cobra ...this was the mustang magic cobra
Id bet the farm im 100k of the views on this video. this video caused me to buy several stangs since watchin it. almost lost my house due to payments. but was so worth it.
yea magnaflows suck... but imo, the best exhaust set-up you can get for a cobra, keeping it legal, is a bassani catted x-pipe with the borla cat-back. and if you dont care about passing inspection, then get an o/r x-pipe with the borla cat-back
People STOP saying he cant shift...ok so he made one mistake, anyone who has driving a manual has misshift before, just enjoy the sound of the bassani pipes and the whine of the super charger...Parnell50 has spoken!
nope, as msullivan stated it is a 4.6. Probably with a KB supercharger, headers, cat back exhaust, pulley, intake manifold, plenum, throttle body, alot more than a pulley upgrade, exhaust, and a tune.
sick stang bro, my cousin has one just like it. 03 cobra, black....his is a vert though. black on black. i can't wait til i can afford something like that. i drive an 2005 v6 mustang now....saving up for a new 5.0!!!
@newballin If you're implying that its aftermarket, its most likely not. The Cobra came with an Eaton Supercharger, which is why its so "ZOMG FAST!" haha And I would also love that car, hell, I'd probably kill for that car to just be handed to me in good condition, lol.
Its a Kenne Bell, or a Whipple Charger or in other words a small blower since its not sticking out the hood...thats what is making the whining noise...If you listen to a top fuel or funny car at the strip you can hear their blowers whine...The difference is...instant torgue down low at the rpms...i like it
I can't even remember how many times I've watched this video over the years
I was just thinking the same.
For real
About 20 at least
Ya, this is one of my favorites. Wouldn't mind getting my hands if one of those in good shape. Would only use it to drive like that when I feel like it in the summer time.
I HAVE A 04 TORCH RED TERMINATOR AND I WOULD NEVER BEAT ON THE CAR LIKE THIS.
this video played a major factor in me buying a cobra
RenwickTheReturn same
Same and the snake bite
almost 10 years of watching this and it still doesn't get old.. badass car gives me chills
The sound of that exhaust backing up at 2:05 is just beautiful

Loved this video, finally bought one just like this. 475hp on a stock blower
I still can't get over the sound of superchargers, they're just incredible.
If I ever find one in decent shape it'll make a hell of a replacement for my SS/SC.

3sevenMustang hehe missed 3rd gear
+DRUMMINGANDDRIFTING I think he panicked when he misse and didn't kick the clutch all the way before he tried to hit it again. But, haven't we all done that at the very least once? Lol
@@rnrchickenman 3rd seems to always be a problem in those particular cars.
Flowmaster mufflers on a Terminator Mustang will never get old. That sound + THE SUPERCHARGER WHINE???!!!

As a sophmore in high school, I drooled when this cobras past by.. then this vid came out and I knew I had to have one, now I'm 25 and a proub owner of a 10th Ann KB cobra all because of this video
I watched this vid like 30x
that sound at 1:38 is epic. it sounded like the tires hooked and then as if they exploded after losing grip again.
Right😭😭
I remember watching this in high school years ago, I'm 30yrs old now and I still want one, at least now i can actually afford one 😁
I remember when this video had 1500 views or so. It's still a killer vid!

Come watch it again its been another 5 and its still just as good
You know I am an all Mustang lover and I really love the car in this video but what gets me the most is how this guy just shows he aint afraid of that car at ALLL and he is not afraid to rip on it ha :)
cant get past the clean exhaust sound, sounds perfect...
Hot damn. This car...man. The nasty growls from 1:05-1:08 send give me that goosebump feeling.
they have cutouts that use a little electric motor to open and close it, so you just have a little y-pipe on each side with the catback on one end of the y, and the cutout on the other.
Exhaust is fantastic and the blower whine is freaking awesome!!
The sound of the car is GREAT. Noisy powerful Mustang,I loved it.
Supercharger is belt driven and has good low end torque without lag but gives up top end performance.
Turbo uses exhaust gasses to spin the turbo and often has lag off the line. But it has good top end performance.
my favorite part of this video is the first 20 seconds. that low rumble as it slowly moves. like its a fucken monster waking up. wow, i love this car
There stands ground that a lot of things are pointless, watching tv could be considered pointless. These things however, what he is doing to his car included. Serve a purpose of entertainment. Something that we enjoy doing. Because you don't like it doesn't make it more or less pointless. It served its purpose by keeping it's driver happy.
i love that whining sound that cobra is giving on the passes
im 14, and i think these Mustangs are the only cars that appear to me, like really, even if i see a Ferrarie, im kindove like:" well, nice shape", but these ones are legit. Love it
as soon as electric cars look, sound, and FEEL as good as one of these. Then, and ONLY then will i be impressed with them!
Wonder what the cops think when they see this road? I'd love to see the look on there faces! Priceless... great video!
Beautiful Mustang!!!!! I fell in love with the car!!!!! I Wish I had one of this I can only afford a GT... But I still love my mustang..

I love mustang's sound.
@Parnell50 Actually its flare, not a mistake... its unpreventable in some unmodified gearboxes, its to prevent damage to the driveline.
i started watching this and the hairs on my arm stood up.... i NEED one!!!
This video made me fall in love with cars
excellent a dream come true for every mustang lover
200 of these views are pretty much from me. this is an amazing car. i have a 2000 v6 ( all i could afford but still got a mustang :} ) this is my dream car. love this body style for some reason. hoping to get one just like this in a few years.
It's not a matter of loudness merely stating that centrifical superchargers sound different than roots/twin screw superchargers and that's def a noise that roots/twin screws make.

four words to describe this: King Of The Road!
i think ive watched this video to many times... this car is so badass!
the whine of a super charger is music to my ears
yea magnaflows suck... but imo, the best exhaust set-up you can get for a cobra, keeping it legal, is a bassani catted x-pipe with the borla cat-back. and if you dont care about passing inspection, then get an o/r x-pipe with the borla cat-back
Man whoever is driving this stang is a great driver
People STOP saying he cant shift...ok so he made one mistake, anyone who has driving a manual has misshift before, just enjoy the sound of the bassani pipes and the whine of the super charger...Parnell50 has spoken!
when he revs @ 0.52...BEAST!, it looks evil.. i like
nope, as msullivan stated it is a 4.6.
Ahh..the sound of a ported and pullied Eaton. Music to my ears.
@newballin If you're implying that its aftermarket, its most likely not. The Cobra came with an Eaton Supercharger, which is why its so "ZOMG FAST!" haha
And I would also love that car, hell, I'd probably kill for that car to just be handed to me in good condition, lol.
