You said it!!! That wtf moment when people first see Babymetal is one of my favourite things on UA-cam!!!😁
Babymetal are the originators of Kawaii Metal! Kawai=cute. The Kawaii culture is in everything in Japan where they come from. They're super popular outside Japan now and regularly play in The US and Europe. They 've performed with greats like Red Hot Chili Peppers and Rob Halford of Judas Priest and won loads of Rock awards here in the west.
    They are huge!!!!

BABYMETAL - Japanese girls who have been frightening and/or pissing off metal elitists who think it can't be real metal if the singer sings and doesn't growl for nearly 10 years.

I really liked how Beez described it during the review of the latest album Metal Galaxy on the "That's Not Metal Podcast": "while I agree the first time you listen to a Babymetal album is mind bending to a point where you can feel the bobbling in your cranium where your brain is trying to take in everything that is going on...[these tracks do work together as an album]" :-)

This is your last chance. After this, there is no turning back. You take the blue pill-the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill-you stay in Wonderland, and I show you how deep the fox hole goes.

@@Dragon-Believer I think both with Rammstein and Babymetal when they have a song in English, the original was already written in their native language, they are trying to make it fit the music. It just doesn't work that well. If they would write an English song from scratch I think it would work better. But writing original songs in a second language at the same skill level might also not be easy.

    ⚡ 💀 💕 / 🤘
The lyrics are about a 15 year old girl attending her first heavy concert.
The lead singer Su-metal (Suzuka Nakamoto, or Su) recorded the song when she was 14.
This concert was 'Legend 1997' on December 21st, 2013, celebrating Su's 16th Birthday.
(Just to help with the math, she was born in 1997).
Even though 'Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!!!' looked like the finale, it was followed by two more songs.
It was part of a five song encore with the live Kami Band.
The drummer is Hideki Aoyama. He is still their main drummer and plays at almost every concert.
    The bassist is BOH.
Guitarists that night were Leda Cygnus and the late great Mikio Fujioka.
Even though BABYMEYAL really shine in their live performances, the music video for 'Karate' from the second album is definitely worth watching.

Babymetal are Japanese. They are incredible live. Their single Gimme Chocolate (the best Metal song about eating chocolate ever) has 100 MILLION hits. This video, though brilliant, is from 4 or 5 years ago. They sold out their USA tour very quickly and have just sold out their European tour (but I have tickets to see them in 19 days!). After 45 years of mostly male Metal, they are very refreshing.

The best BABYMETAL is a live BABYMETAL. Their studio albums are great but their live performance is where the real BABYMETAL experience can be truly felt. Most of their great live vids had been taken down from YT but there are still a few that are still great as well.
If you want to be shocked, try BABYMETAL Death from their Legend 1997 concerts. 1997 is not the year the concert was held but it was the year their lead singer - Su-Metal was born. This concert was for her 16th birthday celebration. Try to remember how you celebrate your 16th birthday and try to compare it to how she celebrated ua-cam.com/video/jRc9dbgiBPI/v-deo.html

The 'ki-e-ro' crowd chant moment at 5.35 mark of your video still gives me goosebumps every time I watch this video, Made all the more effective as the instruments all come back in.When they played this song at the forum in los angeles in oct we went crazy.....And we hit the' ki-e-ro' chant right on que and our queen was smiling with approval.
Did you notice SUE rocking the FREDDY MERCURY style mic stick?
Watching BABYMETAL is like getting punched in the face by three kawaii Asian girls, and you know what I'm ok with that. Its times like this when you realize three kawaii Asian girls are more METAL than you. SU-METAL is our GODDESS QUEEN and an IDOL LEGEND.

There is nothing like a BABYMETAL concert! This not even as wild as they get. Unfortunately their most recent concert footage won't be out for at least several months (the performance you watched was from 2013 and the group is still going) but in the meantime I recommend checking out BABYMETAL DEATH (from the Legend 1997 concert), Road of Resistance, or Rondo of Nightmare w/ Gods of Mischief intro.
The group is pretty big in Japan (their largest performance was at the Tokyo Dome with 55,000 people in 2016) and they are gaining a foot hold in the West (they just finished their US tour last fall by selling out the Forum in LA with 17,000 people).

They are still the most popular/famous band from Japan and last year sold-out the LA Forum. The 3 girls have been performing professionally on stage/TV since about the age of 6 yo. The girls Band names are Su-Metal, Moa-Metal and Yui-Metal and at the time the group was formed they never heard Metal Music. They have been the opening act for; Metallica, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Lady Gaga. Rob Halford (Judas Priest) performed with them and in an interview named them "The Monster Ladies of Metal". Thanks for choosing to react to BABYMETAL, they're amazing! As someone who is new to the group, I thought I'd give you and your followers a little background on them.
BABYMETAL is a Japanese Kawaii Metal group consisting of (for the most part) SU-METAL on lead vocals, YUIMETAL and MOAMETAL on backing vocals/dancing, or "SCREAM AND DANCE" as they like to call it. I say 'for the most part' as Yui & Moa have a few songs that they do as duets without Su and Su has a few songs she does as solos whilst Yui & Moa take a well deserved break.
They were formed in 2010 as part of the idol group Sakura Gakuin, before touring on their own in 2011 and have gone from strength to strength.
They started singing to backing tracks with actors in skeleton suits pretending to play instruments (known as BABYBONES) but soon incorporated the Kami Band into their concerts, bringing them in full time at the end of 2013. The Kami Band consists of some of Japan's premier musicians on rotation based on availability. The most popular configuration consisting of Takayoshi Ohmura and Mikio Fujioka on guitar with Leda Cygnus as stand-in, BOH on bass and Aoyama Hideki on drums. These are the people you will see most often in videos. Since the untimely passing of Mikio at the end of 2017 they have enlisted the talents of Isao Fujita on guitar. At the end of 2018 YUIMETAL left the band because of health problems and in 2019 there are 3 girls named AVENGERS that will take her place in a rotating manner.
Below is a list of some of their best performances that I hope you will consider for future reactions. Should you decide to do more BABYMETAL reactions in the future, you should be aware that UA-cam will block almost all videos that incorporate audio. The best way round this is to mute the video and provide a link that we can open in a new window and sync with yours. Just give us a countdown before you start playing it. The BABYMETAL fandom is very used to this way of doing things.

You caught on to the key point of BabyMetal! The fans (known collectively as "The One") are as much a part of the show as the band. There is nothing like a live show. The mix of people, age, gender, race, any other term used to divide those of us who bleed red blood is mindbending. Especially when you see diverse people like metal bikers windmilling next to a 10 year old kid and everybody is having a great time.Have a nice trip with this. Look deeper into the foxhole. There is nothing to be afraid of...except having a stupid grin on your face all day.

You probably haven't seen Kiss live clips. Just put Kiss Live" then any time from 1974-1980 and you will see explosions and crazy makeup. They were like videos before MTV was made... maybe "Detroit Rock City" or "Parasite"...

So glad they choose this and not Gimme Chocolate as your first intro to this very unique very talented band. Think your reaction would have been negative on Gimme Chocolate. With that said if you react to Karate or Road of Resistance next youll def become a fan. And about seeing it all..oh no, you haven't seen it all till you've seen...Ladybaby...

I look at this group is more of a novelty act than anything. I've got a backing band. And it should have like pop music on top of heavy metal. I know people are going to get mad. But you have to check out Band-Maid. A 5-piece woman's hard rock band from Japan as well. But these ladies play the all their own instruments. They are phenomenally talented. Start off with the official video for the song Thrill. I think it's one of the earliest works. Then anything live from them afterwards. You will not be disappointed. And they are fairly attractive as well !

    • @LouieGrandie
      @LouieGrandie 4 роки тому +2

Charles Velten this "novelty" has won 32 intentional awards to Band Maid's none. Baby Metal has been #1 on Billboard's Rock chart which Band Maid had yet to crack. Baby Metal has filled the 55,000 Tokyo Dome while the biggest audience to see Band Maid is 7,000. Baby Metal has hit #13 on the Billboard top 200 chart which Band Maid had yet to crack. And Baby Metal is sober at the end of their shows unlike Band Maid. There is no measurement where Band Maid is better. No in record sales, not in awards, not in audience size, not in record charts. No where
