My thought/hope is that A.I. would be able to do it, original voices and all! I'd absolutely go nuts over the original, "adult", Gatchaman series (I've never actually seen it) with the American voice overs, how sweet would that be! @@-_-meh69

Mine too, and when you see him in the original Gatchaman as Joe as he should be - he's brilliant. Half Japanese and half Italian, brilliant marksman, stock car racer and with some sad secrets. Ti amo Joe Asakura. x
I have to admit some bias here, bc ofc my name is jason:p But also! I always thought it was so cool, Princess was beyond the stupid girl needing to be rescued trope a that existed at the time. She needed to be rescued exactly ONCE in the entire series and it was those weird freaky plants episode, and even then she just made a bad choice about going undercover, something anyone could do. That said, she fell victim to typical girl trope of falling in love with the alpha male, even tho Jason was much sexier (and an asshole, he beat people up)
At 0:10, I find it quite impressive that a single engine turboprop plane can transmute into a twin-engine jet plane. Now that's what I call major aerospace evolution (yes, I know it's sci-fi). And I often wonder how Keyop often felt, being born a test-tube child.
@ladyfire44 Although I have yet to run into such "Gatchaman" clips, I imagine Jinpei either telling dirty jokes or telling Galactor operatives what to kiss.
@@floydjohnson7888 yes, exactly. Just like StarBlazers, BOP had to be toned down and greatly adjusted for American audiences, especially children. But the adjusting worked, and both shows were popular around the entire USA in the 1970s. One major adjust was antagonist Zoltar, who could change to male or female at any time. For the USA, Zoltar was kept a male, and his "sister Mala" was created to do the female scenes.
I remember that this animated film was broadcast in Poland on Polish Television in the First Program every Saturday at 10:00 am after such a program for children, which I remember well wore the title, probably "Sobótka" in the early eighties, it was a year 1982, and I liked this movie very much and I regret that none of the many television stations, and we have very many of them do not want to broadcast this movie.
It took me a while to identify this cartoon. I was born just after its heyday which means I mostly saw repeats. I remembered only the visuals, not the title or the characters.
I remember that I watched this animation on a TV that did not take colors, with us in Poland in those early eighties, we were talking about this television "black and white TV", because the colors he took were all colors from black to gray. And that you do not think about it, that the TV was factory damaged. None of these things. It was just that in Poland in Poland, in the early eighties, they were available for purchase and were produced.
I remember hearing in the 1990s that in the source material, Jinpei was frequently either saying "Up yours" to Galactor troops or telling dirty jokes, neither of which would've flown Stateside in the 1970s.
2:11 Once a year, secret and mysterious powers are granted to an orphaned baby by means of surgical implant, elevating them above their fellow man while trapping them in a childhood lived inside a militaristic high tech facility as trainees for the purpose of defending this galaxy, and those beyond this universe. How many are there? The only ones I know about are the version that ended up on UK kids TV in the 1980s (the one I watched) and the original Japanese version which from what I've heard never would have been.
Who did hear that story from? The same guys that thought Dirty Pair was porn anime?!? That's BS, complete urban legend. I've watched the subbed version and the character did NOT swear all the time and make lewd comments at a character he considered his big sister! YES, Jinpei and Jun considered each other foster siblings and he LOOKED UP TO HER as a role model and mother figure, he didn't LEER at her! If anything, Gatchaman was fairly asexual and didn't have groping and gratuitous sex jokes in it. If you watch a sexual comedy or groping, go watch Cutie Honey! It was made around the same time as Gatchaman!
At 0:57-0.59, he says "I sorta pay special attention to Princess, I really don't know just why" while during that peculiar last statement, she spreads her legs and exposes what is up her skirt. This is NOT a coincidence! Oh how sex-saturated our media culture is, and how subliminally cunning it has been all while inculcating young people via "innocent cartoons."
Dude, they're just having a little harmless fun with the narration. They've gotta keep it somewhat interesting for themselves in this extremely neutered, kiddified American version of this show.
I will always love this cartoon no matter how old I get it makes me young
I came here just to see it again. We should get a reboot ❤

That era of "anime" looks the best by far.
Back in 1978 me and the neighborhood gang would watch BOP and then put on our towel capes and go outside and pretend we were G-Force!
It’s how i ended up with a scar on my forehead! Bunk bed and a towel. Thought I was Jason!
Princess provided plenty of fanservice for us young chaps.
Princess up the skirt shots...
Gotta love it.
Ha! THAT's how I KNEW I was straight - even at just six yrs old :-)
Loved Keyop! Always admired how he didn't let his speech and any other ailments stop him! I'm high functioning Autistic and always believed if he could have an ailment like me and still keep going so could i
2 of them get fun slides and Jason has to pull himself through on hand rails. No wonder he was pissy.
Loved this so much when I was little.
a masterpiece well ahead of its time..
This is my childhood
0:53 Just about all the boys paid attention to Princess in those days.
A sign that boys were growing up so fast. Lol
I fucking loved this at 4 years old.

As a kid, I was obsessed with this cartoon and I still am.
That cartoon - for it's time, was unlike anything else. I was entranced by it
well said
The details are amazing. The artistry.
I like many others started with BOTP and then found the original Gatchaman. Loved the BOTP, but Gatchaman made a lot more sense.
1:37 That, for me in 1978, was the big "takeaway" (the aphorism hadn't been invented yet) about G-2: He'd make a great deputy leader were he less hot-headed/rash

Same here MOBROOKS.
I prefer Jase over Joe!!!!!!

'I sorta pay special attention to Princess... I really don't know just why...' - Hmm, let me think.

I think they changed him to that with a speech impediment because in the original Jinpei's mouth is almost as foul as Joe's in the terms of swearing.
@ladyfire44 Although I have yet to run into such "Gatchaman" clips, I imagine Jinpei either telling dirty jokes or telling Galactor operatives what to kiss.
In the original, his speech was similarly peculiar.

Hmmm . Princess and Keyop slide down tubes to get to the main body. But the wings are angled down so the pods are lower than the main body.
Great music ! Hoyt Curtain!

We had it in the mid 70's in USA, also a bunch of crazy druggy sid and marty kroft shows, like land of the lost and dyna girls
One of my forever favorites!!!
G-force needs a live action series..netflix and tatsunoko do this and take my money..so much material here..who trained them etc
Oh yeah!
True there. Needs to be done in Hollywood
Russo Brothers producing a Hollywood version

Epic soundtrack
Wow, you are so correct, I also paid special attention to her and I saw the reason why, lol. Very conning indeed, subliminal

Funny how the character of Jason looks like a young Robert Urich when he was on S.W.A.T.
I always thought Keyop just had a speech impediment, but after watching Sweet Anita sounds like he has Tourretts.
I remember hearing in the 1990s that in the source material, Jinpei was frequently either saying "Up yours" to Galactor troops or telling dirty jokes, neither of which would've flown Stateside in the 1970s.
I liked the watch I made from white-lined paper. Never did master the trick of the scotch tape, though. I never grew capes.
Amazing how Japan was so far ahead of us when it came to Anime
❤❤❤❤ Those were the days
awesome ship
.. kinda funny this is one of my first loves, and im named Jason
Love this anime. ❤
This brings back a few memories
Watching this over and over and now I get it they were implanted special powers hmmm never grasped it as a boy.

Loved this show
this show was my shit
anyone noticed that the kid was cloned and they talk about him like he is the pet of the lab :D
Interestingly Keyop’s speech impediment was put in because the original one used to swear a lot in the Japanese version, I believe.
Knew i was gay when this show was new. had a crush on Jason lol..
I could never decide between him and Mark
I'm not gay but had a boy crush on Jason - wanted to be him
The background music was great
Oh luminous one!
There were so many different versions of this show - and all of them were weird.

@@Bungle2010g-force - which is original gatchaman, but damn awful names and intro and voice acting and music
Big 10!
THE O.G.👍👍
cool cartoon.
I bet he pays special attention to Princess!
❤😊
I could tolerate Zark more if he had a different voice. That Alan Young voice he has really grates me.
Classic
I wish I had that tank in real life.
Ok after watching G-Force who got hook on anime......
me lol
Actually it was probably speed racer and robotech that got me into 90’s anime this was just an additional bonus
I like “Battle of the Planets” and “G-Force” better as “Gatchaman”, okay?
I was a kid in the 70s .and 80s. but I don't remember this
It probably just wasn't syndicated in your region.
Wow!! You missed out!! It was the cartoon of cartoons!!
I grew up manly in the '80s. I remember it from after school weekday afternoon kids TV.
Ομάδα G!
I am looking for the complete action soundtrack, the first 17 seconds of this video,,
It is triumphant and empowering,

G FORCE TRANSFORM
Close, it was Transmute😂
1:58 Sorry Mark, there is already a ship parked in your space. (never noticed that until now) lol
I noticed that originally back in the late 70s when I saw this show in Fresno California. Good eye though
solid state circuitry eh,,i see what u did there 7z7
It's good, but it's not a patch on Battling Seizure Robots.
Loved it as a kid... but I always had 1 question : How do they get from the wings compartment to the cockpit ? The wings look pretty flat !!
Crawl-ways.
it's all about a chunky wing chord, check out the old Tupolev designs
Yes the ship and vehicles are outt of scale
Transmute baby!
Music tho
Keeyop's (Jinpey's) "speech impediment" was to cover the fact that he was always swearing and making sexual jokes toward Princess (June).
The Comic version one had and extensive Porn collection so I recall reading and going... er 'Kay
