I remember well that day in October back in 1969 when I heard that GV had died at just 60 years old. I was a 20 year old solo euphonium player and just loved his music and the wonderful euph parts he wrote. I’m now 71 and retired, but thankfully my ears are still working.

I am 76 and have one foot in the ground and the other on a banana peel but thankfully my ears still work.
