It says a lot about the both of you that the outcome for AJ is so positive. You dont need to worry about anybodys opinion as he couldnt have had better people in his life than the pair of you, giving him all your love and tender care. Thats why he is so strong and healthy. Unfortunately the prognosis for my dog "Shadow" was not good and I had to make the decision to end his suffering but I have wonderful memories of him from a puppy to becoming an old man. Keep busy, and make sure you give him plenty of hugs x

I know - when the bed went out, thought the worst, then at first thought maybe she was making something for the ashes, so when the bowl hole went in I was elated.

Not ashamed to admit I had tears in my eyes first 20 minutes. Had my 9 year old dog put to sleep in June so brought back a lot of emotions. She was diabetic since 4 yrs old. Wasn't the diabetes that did for her in the end. Was cancer but in her mouth and I wasn't getting her jaw removed. AJ looks happy and it's a good outcome, older dog can spend more time lazing about😄. Enjoy them while they're with us ❤

I can’t tell u how happy I am for all of you!!! My 19 year old Maltese has canine cognitive disorder. I thought I was going to have to say goodbye to her on the 23rd. Thank heaven this at home vet changed her meds and so far she’s doing so much better. They are our whole hearts. Good luck for AJ and both of you. Will be praying for you.❤️❤️❤️

I swear to god I've never been so relieved to see a dog bowl appear, ever. I was convinced AJ was dead and spent the first 20 minutes in tears. I wouldn't mind though, when I saw the video up, I thought - great I love these women they always brighten my heart and my day. It was great to see him hopping around. I have friends with a three legged dog called...Trip. If everything else is okay he'll be grand. Take care of yourselves- it's been a shocking few weeks for you. The way he snuggled into Emily's neck at the vet, he knows. He knows he's safe with you both and that you love him. Such a difficult process to go through but so worth it for the love. Love to you all ❤
Our Luke is a 3 legged wonder as well. He runs like the wind and is extremely healthy. I understand the terror and torment, we as their owners, go through, but I truly believe when we make these decisions, it's for their best interest. AJ will be thanking you that he no longer has pain. The dogs process and deal with the loss of their limb a lot faster than we do, I promise. AJ will surprise you - He'll be back to his usual self in no time. I promise

As a mum of a tripod dog and cat, I can assure you they do just fine once the pain, and fear of pain is gone, they just get on with life in their own happy little way. It is definitely harder for us to accept and adjust, but when you have an emotional wobble just look into his eyes and see how content and happy he is, and how grateful he is to no longer have pain. 🥰

Our Luke is a 3 legged wonder as well. He runs like the wind and is extremely healthy.
I understand the terror and torment, we as their owners, go through, but I truly believe when we make these decisions, it's for their best interest. AJ will be thanking you that he no longer has pain.
The dogs process and deal with the loss of their limb a lot faster than we do, I promise.
AJ will surprise you - He'll be back to his usual self in no time. I promise
I held my breath from the moment I read the warning. You absolutely did the best thing! I know it feels extreme, but it is more common than you'd think. Dogs are so good at masking pain! While I am not glad he broke his leg, I am so glad you found this before it spread! Huge hugs to you both! I know how much that was to go through.

Bless you both, you absolutely did the right thing and AJ will adapt faster than you will. As a mum of a tripod dog and cat, I can assure you they do just fine once the pain, and fear of pain is gone, they just get on with life in their own happy little way. It is definitely harder for us to accept and adjust, but when you have an emotional wobble just look into his eyes and see how content and happy he is, and how grateful he is to no longer have pain. 🥰
