My 7 years old PS4 is completely silent after I cleaned the whole inside of the console and applied new thermal paste. I can barely hear the console now, while before it sounded like jet engine lol

I’m honestly excited for Ormond, I like when they aren’t afraid to make maps brighter.
The only time I’m truly immersed in DBD, is when I’m frantically looking for pallets as The Blight comes charging through smacking into everything like a goddamn maniac.

I think quite the opposite. Some reworked/new maps are too bright even with my high contrast low brightness settings. Like the new hospital, ghost town... Ormond always was like this. Not my favorite, but at least it has some "stranded in the snowstorm" vibes.
They need to make the silent hill map brighter i have to turn up my brightness on my tv just to see in the hallways half the time

My Laptop has Nvidia so I can just adjust the brightness myself, it's probably some form of cheating but I can't see shit without it so fuck if I'm turning it off.
It’s a little bit of a double edged sword. Survivors are more visible now, but killers are too. It especially hurts stealth killers such as ghost face and myers
@@-spacenav-6054 It's not cheating because Dead by Daylight had to approve NVIDIA game filters before they were added.
The more these maps get updated, the more I’m gonna miss these old maps. The new maps look great and I love the aesthetic each one has, but the old ones just have style to DBD that’s going to be gone by the time all the maps get reworked.
Either way, I’m excited to see the changes coming to other maps.

I remember when the game was still in development and there were no graphics, just code. That was the true spirit of dbd, I will miss it dearly..

Those new hex totems look great. Just make sure to place them in wide open areas so that ALL THE SURVIVORS can appreciate them within seconds of the game starting.

Map updates like this are for the Twitch streamers, who promote the game, that gets fresh people into buying it, who then become fodder for Twitch streamers, before quitting the game once they realize how unbalanced it is.

I always assumed cleansing a totem took time because its more of a disassembling a carefully crafted cursed object. Like you don't just throw water on a grease fire...you have to be careful with your actions, especially if you don't know exactly what you're dealing with. Idk, I like to think they're kind of studying it as they try to dismantle it.

Reasons.
Everyone saying the game is now too dark clearly isn’t familiar with the horror genre. Dark environments allow for the creation of a tense, suspenseful atmosphere. Hence, their choice to mildly darken it. Just put on your big boy pants and get with it. Also, the internet needs to be less harsh about their “constructive” criticism(don’t come at me w the lame ‘is a joke’ excuse). Even if they appear to be mere graphic updates, these take a HUGE effort and a LOT of time, so please be respectful. With that being said, keep up the awesome work Devs! I really enjoy this game :)
It's not so much that they're making it darker per se. Rather they're making it more, "modern horror 2020 style". Its an effort to increase the perceived grittiness of the game instead of making the maps themselves exciting to play on they're applying a coat of gritty paint and hoping that'll fix things. The games "horror" capacity dwindles pretty quickly after match 30.
@@UnspokenOldOne That’s the whole point of darkening it, as to acquire some semblance of a creepy, chill giving map and become further immersed in the experience. While it is true that said sensation will most likely wear off over time, the game will be more fitting to its genre and simply look better. Graphics are also very detailed and have been greatly improved on the new update, making it much more appealing to the naked eyed, which is nice, to be frank. Therefore, I have no choice but to disagree with you, graphic updates take more than “a coat of gritty paint”(In fact, it takes a whole team, please do some research on game development before you depreciate the Devs’ work) and I am willing to bet that this update will make it very exciting to play on for quite some time, whilst giving the Devs time to work on other updates. As commonly known, graphics are a crucial factor on any game, so saying that the new update will lack exciting gameplay throughout the maps is wrong. (Basically why Friday the 13th is now dead, regardless of its good mechanics and extreme potential) I’d say that the graphics update, which includes the darkening effect, will definitely bring into the experience. But your opinion is your opinion, I guess the Devs can’t satisfy everyone.

@Miguel Messina lol wat I didnt say anything about lore. The devs have stated multiple times that they design the game about what feels fun to them rather then balancing it on any technical level. Its why killer strength is so unstable. And matpat is just kinda lame and has repeatedly gotten things wrong regarding historical weapons and such. If you want interesting vids on video game weapons or fighting styles you should look up shadiversity he not only is a huge history nerd but has also forged his own blades to fully understand what goes into making and utilizing then

Wow these are some big updates, that's pretty nice. All of the graphical updates sometimes will make my gameplay laggy, but that was when the blight event happened, it's not laggy anymore, but with that being said the graphics on this game are turning from like old 2016 to new 2021. It just keeps getting better.

Dead by daylight is literally my favourite game, being a survivor main is really fun especially if you play with maybe a friend or two.
Now this graphics update surely makes the game experience a lot better since the maps don't look too cartoonish or that it has too much muddy graphics.
Now from my personal aspect this game could be a lot better by fixing the dedicated servers

I've encountered way too many lag switching killers the past months. I've checked my own internet multiple times and nothings been wrong with it. There have been times where everyone's ping in game has been completely cucked over and then the killer is the only one with good ping. I am not an expert when it comes to ping but it's not too fun coming into a game and then 3 minutes in 2 people dc because of high ping/laggy host.
Another thing: The hitboxes obviously.
There has been too many times where I as a survivor has gone up to a ton of huntress mains and I've been hit through walls, objects like cars, gens etc with hatchets. Now huntress isn't the only one with this issue. There's probably a lot of videos out there with people explaining and showing the issues with some hitboxes but like these are just my personal experiences and what I've encountered.
Aside from all of that, I'm excited for the new update

A message to the devs: you should break totems by reading something like a small placard, which is in a foreign language the survivors can somehow recall after a while of breaking. This would make much more sense than some survivors touching a totem then making it magically break. Thanks for reading!

I feel like there're a lot of things that have to be reworked for more realism.
Totems: We don't need 14 seconds or more to kick and topple one over.
Downed survivors: How the hell do you have any energy in you left to wiggle while being carried after getting

I appreciate the work BHVR has done here. The new maps truly have livened up my gameplay experience. I wish they will work on totem cleansing and hook animations. I want to see the moment of getting hooked to be more gruesome moment instead of just laughable strange/funny-sounding scream of characters and after that returning to normal like it's not a big deal they are hanging from a meat hook until second struggle state kicks in. But hey, again, great job for the updated maps!

Seems like a lot of maps are being brightened up. Ormond especially, with the snow being used to decrease visibility instead of the darkness which I am excited for. Changing weather & snow storms would be amazing like in The Last of Us. A lot of changes, (some more subtle than others) that I think will go a long way.

They already added bullshit hitboxes years ago. If you haven't seen them just play one game as Huntress, when you spawn throw a hatchet anywhere and it will hit all 4 survivors.
dedicated servers was on start, and all killers was cheat to ddos survs. So dedicated servers its the worst idea ever
Never experienced lag once since they added the dedicated servers, maybe fix your internet.
The bullshit hitboxes i sort of agree with, a large part of that i think are the animations being not so in sync with where the character is and what it's actually doing, say vaulting a window.

Voces tem em suas mãos um jogo muito unico. Embora muitos vieram tentando adaptar as suas mecanicas em outros titulos mas não conseguiram derrubar voces, graças a comunidade forte e gigante que vcs tem. Acho muito bom o empenho de voces em trazer uma mudança grafica no jogo, está um trabalho muito bonito. De encher os olhos, espero que o empenho de vcs continuem firmes, com mais atualizações e novas mecanicas. Uma das coisas que deixaria o jogo com um ar mais imersivo seria animações. Animações e interações mais dinamicas PARA A GAMEPLAY (em exemplo das animações add nas maquinas) . Coisas pequenas que dá pra lançar num so patch, como uma animação para o uso do DS, o survivor com um pedaço de vidro ou graveto, varia a partir do cenario, encravando nas costas do killer para escapar. Animações com variação de temperatura, como no mapa do gelo (me fugiu o nome da cabeça). Animações a partir do raio de terror, mostrando a inquietação dos sobreviventes perante os killers. Interação visual com ocenario, como no endgame, porém mais explosivo e agressivo. Entidades atravessando a nevoa, em mapas com nuvens, sombras atravessando o cenario, como fantasmas mesmo. Luas de sangue, sons da floresta, ventos. São coisas que criariam uma experiencia ainda mais insana do que é DBD. Não tenham medo de experimentar, creio que nao sou o unico, tem varios que ja trouxeram estes topicos em pauta, inclusive acredito que nas salas de reuniões da empresa. Desde já, agradecido.
Sou um cara que olhava distante o jogo e nao achava muito chamativo, entao um amigo fã do jogo comprou pra mim de presente e a medida que eu jogava mais eu gostava do jogo. Hoje eh um dos, se nao o unico jogo que me divirto de verdade e sempre quero jogar.

Thank you for making the graphics look better and adding unnecessary breakables walls instead of fixing the glaring problems that been in DBD for years now like: Momento Moris, keys, console optimazation, 70% of perks are useless, underpowered killers like Clown and Wraith, overpowered killer add-ons like Tombstone for Micheal Myers or Iri head for Huntress, Overpowered perks like Object of obession, Decisive strike and NOED, terrible map design, unfair matchmaking and lag a shitload of lag.

I like how each maps changes the killer shack’s appearance.
Also updating the survivor models could be good
Optimize your game first and fix all bugs before bragging how good the graphics are and even after the update they are not that impressive.
They optimize it via updated maps though. I get much better performance on reworked maps. It doesn't feel like a slideshow.

This game is going to get better better and better
The only thing I don't like about the update is that in Ormond, when your a survivor hiding up on the balcony, those flat wide pieces of wood can't protect you from the killers view so going on the balcony is basically useless unless your being chased
The theme still hits really hard
