At least john Schneider doesnt try to hide from what made him famous
I know Right!
But he is low key about being on Tyler Perrys The Have & Have Nots.
keep it between the ditches yee haa
yes I agree, I like it more when people are proud of the roles they were in.
I think he's even embracing it now that he's been away from it so long. Good for him, and for us!
RIP Waylon, Sheriff Rosco, Uncle Jesse and Boss Hogg
and Flash, Roscoe's dog.
Don't forget Ms. Tilsdale.
Don't forget Coy (or was it Vance?)

Such a fun show, from a time when America wasn’t so damned uptight.
Back in the day when the entire family dropped what they were doing and met in front of the TV to watch the same great program. How often does that happen now? Never...
Hello Cathy. How’s your day going?
happens all the time with me
Shame isn’t it , you’re on point with your comment
All I know is that Waylon would be proud
Couldn't said it better myself
Agreed!
With ya on that
He would indeed
He was in the background. He was there wasnt he
This theme song will never EVER get old and whoever doesn't like it, something is wrong with you.

"Good ole boy" is southern racist code for "whites only" and the KKK and if you don't understand that then you really are naive. Google the "Good Ol' Boys Roundup" if you don't believe me.

i just had a shite day at work and now im here 4 beers later having a blast. Cheers John!!
My oldest was one of the biggest "Dukes of Hazzard" fan, especially of John Schneider. I took her to see John in concert at the Cincinnati zoo when she was a teenager. She got to go to the museum run by Ben "Cooter" Jones in Virginia but her greatest thrill was seeing John sing again and getting her picture made with him a year or so before she died of kidney cancer last year. I am happy she got to meet one of her teen idols.
I'm soooo sorry you had to go through such pain of the passing of your daughter. Our prayers are with you.
Good riddance
Gay!
I'm so sorry dude that is so sad my heart breaks for you
It seemed to be a wholesome show. I liked it as a kid.
No matter a person's feelings, no matter one's political persuasion... Nothing but love and respect for the South. Time we took to spreading love and respect and not hatred and BS!

I was born in Mexico and came here legally in 1973. I appreciate everything my Father did to bring us to America legally from day one. America is the dreams of many who are not born here. If we had stayed in Mexico I know my my life would be for the worse. I grew up watching Bo and Luke Duke and there was never anything racist about that show. I loved him as Johnathan Kent. He portrayed that father figure role so well. l I bet he took some cues from Uncle Jesse
I've met John Schneider, He actually came to Powderly, Kentucky. ( Which is where James Best lived R.I.P ) Me, My Mom, and My Brother went to see him in concert and we brought the DVD collection of the first season of Smallville for him to sign and John Schneider signed it with both his name and his character's name, Jonathan Kent.
@@bigdoinks196 He seems like a genuine person to me. And in my opinion, Jonathan in the comics seems to be a character looked over and forgotten a lot but I like it when a comic run or tv series keeps him on and allows him to guide Clark. I think John really brought a rough kindness to the character that we never saw before or have since.
and that episode with Tom Wopat. Awesome
Yep. he sure did.
I just commented on how I'd watch a Dukes reboot starting Jenson Ackles and Christian Kane, wouldn't Schneider make a perfect Uncle Jesse?

Or those thumbs down could be from disappointed fans because there is no Conconfederate Flag in the back ground. Singing this song without a Confederate Flag in the background is like painting an American Flag on the General Lee...
I like Waylon's recording of the song but this is phenomenal.
Well, Waylon is a professional singer while John was the actor so I would expect a little more from Waylon even though this version is phenomenal
@Andrew-
Waylon is a Legend, however that Duke boy is a damn good singer. He had several big hits in the 80s.
At The Sound of the Tone and Country Girls to name a couple of his songs.

Banning the Dukes is banning America! Heeee Hawwwwwww!❤
This was one of my favorite shows growing up. It's sad that it's so hard to find good, wholesome entertainment on tv these days. Now, it's all sex, violence, stupidity, and how many times they can drop the F-bomb. Even Daisy in her little outfits was never over-sexualized.
The entertainment industry has alot of power and influence. But so do we, the consumers. We need to encourage more shows like this that promote good, American values.
And I love that the show portrayed Southerners and General Robert E. Lee in a good light.
Exactly.
As a Yankee, I agree!

Just two good ole boys,
Never meaning no harm.
Beats all you ever saw, been in trouble with the law
Since the day they were born.
Straightenin' the curves,
Flattenin' the hills.
Someday, the mountain might get 'em but the law never will.
Makin' their wayyyyyy, the only way they know how.
Well, that's just a ittle bit more than the law will allow.

I have to emphasize the flag on the roof WAS NOT the Confederate battle flag! It was the naval jack. Huge difference! The battle flag was square, with gold fringe. When I climbed the flagpole at Elmwood Cemetery to replace the battle flag the City of Charlotte had illegally stolen back in 2005, I replaced it with a naval jack, contrary to what was reported in the news.
It's the Southern pride flag aka Dixie Flag aka Tennessee confederate battle flag

Ah, the memories.
From jumping the creek in an orange DODGE Charger to adopting Superman, what a life of acting!
I was watching an episode of The Dukes of Hazzard on Saturday night as it's now being shown on Forces TV in the UK. I'm not a nostalgic person normally but hearing Waylon Jennings (The Balladeer's) voice it instantly dawned on me how much of a part of my childhood he was. Amazing how many memories came back after hearing that voice I'd not heard for 40 years. Just incredible to think as well that roughly 40 years ago I used to religiously watch the Dukes of Hazzard.....on a Saturday night. Good old days.
Same here but I was watching from a four-plex in Los Angeles, California. Even in L.A. it was a lot nicer back then. Those were truly good times.

Love this show. It is essential to my childhood memories!
I have to admit that I even got a little bit emotional when he shouted out good ol' boy Waylon. May it be good there in heaven!
In Mexico we watched this show when I was a child, my father (God bless him) made a great effort and bought us the toys of the Dukes of Hazzard, which in those days were very difficult to get, at least in my country.
Lightning in a bottle. Thats what The Dukes of Hazzard was. A once in a lifetime opportunity to match incredible seasoned veteran actors With fresh faces to produce something very special. The good guys always won, the bad guys always lost and no one ever really got hurt. It was TRULY a fun show. Something to tune in to each week and just let your troubles go while watching The Dukes outwit Roscoe and Boss. It created an incredible lasting legacy for The Dodge Charger, provided us with great memories that have traveled the back the roads of time alongside us all and reminded us not to take this world or ourselves too seriously. It showed the value of family and friendship and that sometimes. Just sometimes you CAN fight City Hall and win. It doesn't have to be Shakespeare to be something incredible. Lastly, watching the show clips mixed in with the behind the scenes stuff and seeing this song and this show STILL bringing people together after all these decades just proves my point. Hard to believe we were ever that young once.
I love how this orange car with 01 means a lot to people my dream car right here
Strongly remember me about my childhood, sitting in front of the TV, on the afternoon, after school and dreaming about that charger and Daisy Duke's legs.
