About the Video:
The confusion between bonus shares and stock split is very common. People frequently get confused on how the shareholders get additional shares in both the concepts, how do they affect the stock’s price and how does it affect the balance sheet of the company? Moreover, it is also fascinating to understand how the stock split leaves the market capitalisation of a company unchanged. In contrast, the company has to pay out of their reserves for the bonus shares it allots to the shareholders. In this video, we have covered the concepts of bonus shares and stock split in Hindi. Sir sandur manganese ka bonus ke liye koi application form bharna hai kya pls clarify...
very aptly explained sir. but one query is though as a investors we don't get much benefit from it , but one thing you forgot is that we get dividend compared to earlier as now our quantity is increased than before.
But the dividend is now being split into more number of shares. So though the number of shares have increased, the dividend per share will be less as compared to before bonus. So overall it remains same as before. Correct me if I am wrong. I am learning.

Ek mistake jo shayad apse skip ho gaya ho, batana chahunga. Effect of split on shareholders equity, batate samay screen par before bonus and after bonus likha hua hai. Jo ki shayad before split and after split likha hua hona chahiye tha.

Bonus ko lekar meri soch galt thi...... mujhe lagta tha 2:1 ki surat me mujhe 1 ke bandle 2 shares gift ki traha diye jayenge yani ki....100 ka ek share hai to ab mere paas total 300 ka 3 share hojayenge, jisme 200 ka 2 share gift ki traha company ki taraf se issue kiye gaye hain.
Dekha jaye to share holders ke portfolio me kuchh fark nahi padega split ya bonus se.

Thanks for the explanation mukulji. What is the difference between split and sub division of stocks? Please explain.
Sub division of shares means the company have 1000 shares of rs. 10 each and the company sub divide it into 2000 shares of Rs. 5 each. Under subdivision the floating number of shares increases in the market, liquidity increases. Whereas, A stock split or stock divide increases the number of shares in a company. A stock split causes a decrease of market price of individual shares, not causing a change of total market capitalization of the company. Stock dilution does not occur.

hello sir, the video explains both bonus and split very well. but i just have one ques. please make time to clear this doubt of mine. If 15 0ct is ex-bonus date with 2:1 ratio and someone holding 100 shares (cmp 300) till 14 oct sells all the 100 shares on 15 oct (at cmp on 15 oct) , will he get 200 bonus shares (at price 100) on 16th oct (bonus date) ?

I actually got the answer anyways, i.e. we will get all the dividends and stuff as it would be noted that we own the shares but have lent it. so, it's not gonna be a problem:)
