Agreed! They've got a few funky colours, this segment seems to be the most colourful. I think manufacturers need to broaden their paint choices across the board though, shades of grey are too borning!
Kia and Subaru seem to have found some sweet spots in price, character, reliability, functionality, and appearance. Nice video, nice car; thank you for posting.
The subcompact crossover space seems to be the best value right now, they offer a lot of the features the larger vehicles want more money for. I'm still impressed by the overall fuel economy! Hasn't gone over 7.0L/100km in about 800km of driving.
Interesting! I find the Sportage also has a lot of plastic throughout, they try to hide some of it with faux stitching on the dashboard. Gotta go with what works for you!
I hear that, smart doesn't do much except sort of automatically switch to sport mode when needed, we have a 2023 Sportage right now and Smart is the only mode outside of Normal and Sport. I do miss having a dedicated Eco mode.
Glad you liked it, thanks! Halogens don't work even remotely well compared to the LEDs. You get much better visibility with the LEDs on top of a consistent light pattern, whereas the halogens get weaker the further they project. I've been calling for more LED headlights as standard for years now.
I still can't believe how good it was! I stopped reporting my weekly fuel econ numbers since they aren't consistent week to week, but we dropped this off after about 750km and it averaged 7.1L/100km.
I’ve just leased the lx awd version (basically the base model) and absolutely love driving it. The only thing I wish it had was rear vents as my daughter already complained she was too hot and a USB port. I know I’ll figure a way around not having those. And even though it’s a “base” model it doesn’t feel like it cause it comes with a lot of features that other brands don’t put into theirs! Good review and if I was able to go up in price then I would’ve gone for the ex model!! 🙂
Glad to hear it! The rear vents are always something we look for, and it's unfortunate when manufacturers put it in only on higher trims, but it's typical it seems. Hope you enjoy yours!
There's definitely nothing sporty about the feel of this one, nor the SX Turbo we're driving as a long-term vehicle now (aside from the boost in power and 7 speed dual-clutch transmission). The ride on this is comparable with other subcompact crossovers, that's to say you feel the bumps more than you would on a slightly larger vehicle like the Jeep Compass. The handling was good though, never felt like it was losing traction or control.
I have to say the EcoSport has to be the most miserable new car I've been in in quite some time now. Had a colleague drive me in one to pick up a car a while ago and I couldn't fit in the passenger seat. I was too tall at the seat doesn't lower enough, and being the big cow that I am the seat belt barely fit.
I’m a Honda guy but the Seltos blows the HRV away in price and opinions. Test drove the EX and loved it but think I would buy the EX Premium just to get the power Lumber which the HRV doesn’t offer in anything levels. Thanks for testing average priced vehicles for us Everyday people!
Glad you liked it! We try to get some of the more affordable vehicles when we can, and it's sometimes a surprise to us what trim they give us. This worked out great since we ended up with a Seltos SX as a long-term test vehicle giving us the ability to try both.
Sub-Compact Cutie To Be Sure! Although I'm Waiting On The 2021 Hyundai Tucson, And Both Volkswagens (2022-Tiguan & GTI). I For One Being An Enthusiast Like The Sporty Handling Of The VW's...Thank You!...CHEERS!
Thank you for giving an average consumer review because I've been trying to gauge people's opinions on this car and how good the CVT is and if it's too slow and everyone has been speaking about it from an enthusiasts POV and I couldn't tell how good of a car it is but you did a great job of giving an average person review
Your evaluation of this vehicle is very professional and I wish more people were like you.
I certainly appreciate that, thanks! I try my best to be as informative as possible without making this a pure entertainment-only show.
Nice colour, nice to see manufacturers offering something more than black, silver and white.
Agreed! They've got a few funky colours, this segment seems to be the most colourful. I think manufacturers need to broaden their paint choices across the board though, shades of grey are too borning!
It looks really good .. I love it it got all what you need ..
Agreed! I suspect this is going to be a very popular model for Kia.
I just bought this car and i love it.Thank you for your great evaluation.
Hope you enjoy it!

Glad you liked it, thanks!
Very informative........ you are one of the best reviewers ....... good job !!
Thank you so much 👍 We've got a long-term Seltos SX Turbo, let us know if there's something you'd like to see on it!
excellent rereview gets to the point
Glad you liked it! We've got another episode on the Seltos coming up this Monday, it'll be an SX Turbo in the same Neptune Blue if you're interested.
Just purchased an EX premium in White...... a really smart looking vehicle.
Congrats on the purchase! We have one of these now as a long-term test vehicle, looking forward to spend more time with it.
Good looks, great fuel economy, AWD, heated leather seats and sunroof at an affordable price!

I love the outside styling but test drive it yesterday and wayyyy too much plastic inside. Just didn't feel as refined as the sportage internals
Interesting! I find the Sportage also has a lot of plastic throughout, they try to hide some of it with faux stitching on the dashboard. Gotta go with what works for you!
@@PRNTestDrive update: So the dealership loaned me the seltos while they detailed my sportage lol. I love the outside style but inside... It's blah.
I have seltos EX trim love driving it , but only problem that I feel smart mode and normal mode is same like no saving gas mileage
I hear that, smart doesn't do much except sort of automatically switch to sport mode when needed, we have a 2023 Sportage right now and Smart is the only mode outside of Normal and Sport. I do miss having a dedicated Eco mode.
Great review! Right to the point. Thank you. Are the hallogen lights as God as the. LED lights?

Look good, especially like the blue color
I think so too!
That was some really good mileage numbers.
I still can't believe how good it was! I stopped reporting my weekly fuel econ numbers since they aren't consistent week to week, but we dropped this off after about 750km and it averaged 7.1L/100km.
Another excellent review.
I appreciate that, thanks! Not many recent videos on this one, at least for Canadian channels. I wanted to get it up early.
Glad you did and I agree with you the Seltos needs to be evaluated with regards to its price class and targeted customer base.

That is correct, you're absolutely right. thx much Sir 👍👍👍
Glad you think so, thanks!
@@PRNTestDrive Many people out there they just sold by the smooth talk., But, guess who's money haha 😂😃😝😅
How smooth is the drive. Is it handling itself more like a sport car or a sedan? Compare to Jeep Compass North edition?

Speaking as owner of a Stinger GT2 AWD... Put the stinger drivetrain in the Sorento.
Would certainly be an interesting SUV!
FWIW the IVT is a chain drive not a belt drive. Better reliability/lifespan and no belt drone.👍
Great point!
We are looking in getting Seltos the only thing is we have to pay extra for color I don't get that
Most manufacturers charge extra for colours other than black or white. In some cases even white is an 'upgrade' colour depending on the trim.
Imagine people getting stuck with a Traxx or an EcoSport because they have an outdated opinion of Kia

I'm curious to see those too once they land over here. Lots of new cars coming in the next 12 months!

I'm glad you liked it, thanks! I try to be realistic in these reviews, putting myself in the shoes of the buyer and not a reviewer.
6:20 thank you for the rant:) can’t stand when reviewers get out of a Mercedes Benz and complain that a Kia isn’t as high end, yea no duh.
Glad you liked it, I think you're the only one to comment on that so far.
Nice
I'm starting to see a lot of these on the road now, people really like em!
Seltos or kona?
I'd take the Seltos hands down. I'm not a fan of the look on the Kona personally. Seltos also offers more interior space.
Seltos drivetrain is better.
