Thanks for this comprehensive Dora Tour Adrian! I’ve shared it with my first time cruising friends and you’ve answered many questions in one video. Well done!
Great tour Adrian, looking very impressive on board. Your description of all the facilities and services onboard was first class.I cruised a lot on what was the sister ship Sun Princess. Their refurbishment really lifts the bar on Past P&O Australian based ships.Iam cruising on board this ship on the 23rd of August from Sydney for 10 nights up the Qld coast. Also another in November in Adelaide my home town. I talk regularly on Adelaide ABC Radio talk back when cruising is the topic. Cheers Trevor
Thanks Trevor, glad you enjoyed the tour! P&O have done a really stellar job in the public spaces in my opinion. She looks very fresh, contemporary and luxurious. I'm sure you'll love your upcoming cruises. Thanks for watching!
i love pacific explorer, was also on it when it was apart of princess cruises (the last cruise ever when it was dawn princess) it’s incredible to see the changes and what is the same. love this video!
Thanks, Adrian, that was excellent. A beautifully put together video, and the ship looks gorgeous. My wife and I sailed on her as Dawn Princess in the Caribbean in 1998 (we're Brits living in Florida) and I wondered if I would recognize anything. I did remember a couple of places, one of which was the Explorer Hotel with its framed windows - I believe it was the Wheelhouse on Dawn Princess? Sadly, you've had to wait a long time for the restart in Australia - you all deserve to enjoy this lovely ship. I wish you all very happy cruising.😀😀
Thanks so much, Brian. Yes, that's right, the Explorer Hotel would have been the Wheelhouse during the ship's days with Princess. Thanks again for your kind words!
Thank you Adrian. Looks fantastic. We’re on her on Tuesday looking forward to it. Your walk through answered lots of questions for we who haven’t cruised With P&O for a few years
I have been looking forward to seeing this video for ages! We head off in a couple of months on this ship and I'm looking forward to the shows, the beautiful service and a spa day.
Great video Adrian. Thank goodness I have a 10 day cruise on 25th July. I'll have time to try all the restaurants, bars and entertainment venues. Can't wait.
Nice video thanks Adrian. the old girl is looking good. It's easy to pick up the classic Princess layout from her days as Dawn Princess but P&O has done a good job on her.
Thanks Adrian for a thorough tour of the Explorer's public areas. I totally enjoyed your manner of descripion of each venue - most eloquent. We have booked a cruise on her next year from Cairnes and you have managed to stir our excitement even more than before. Did you film a tour of the cabins?
A great coverage. You certainly explored the highlights. This is a really intro to this ship. We will be on her in May 24 out of Cairns on a round - cruise to PNG.
Hi, My bestie and I are going on the Explorer in Oct 2022 and we are excited to go. I enjoyed your video as this upcoming cruise will be my first experience in cruising. Thanks for your time in making this detail video and sharing with everyone.
So great to finally see a ship tour of a Australian cruise. So exciting. Bought back such amazing memories of my cruises on the Explorer. Look forward to your next live sail away.
Now sharing this video with many. We have cruised quite a bit and in different countries. With the Pacific Explorer few times Looks lovely and has excellent facilities , top restaurants and more
Hi Lillian, sorry for the delay! You’d be onboard by now I’m sure. As you could probably tell, it’s a bit warm onboard (for me anyway) but chilly outside. Layers are best. Enjoy the cruise!
You have whetted my appetite, but I have to wait a year. I am booked on mid next year 10 days from Perth intensive Kimberley Coast. Ship looks fabulous. Thank you for upload, very informative. 👍😊
Just booked for January 2024, fresh off a cruise on the Grand Princess. The latter was wonderful but looking forward to our next cruise on the Pacific Explorer next year!!
Will be back on this ship again in Feburary after going on the Inaugral Aussie cruise in 2017. Looks like a few changes since then. Nothing like cruising on your first ship again. Can't wait 😊
Thank you for the tour info.. we will be on the Cruise 26th April 23.. Freo-Broome-Freo. Looking forward to be on Board.. this is my first experience of Cruising..
Great video, Sea Princess V2 - last cruised Jan 2020 beginning of Covid. P and O have done themselves proud with the introduction of this once Princess cruise ship. Layout has been refreshed and has gone from a 3 Star to a 4 star ranking. Love this smaller style of Cruising. Hope the Pacific Encounter has the same feel as this Great ship.
Found your tour very informative, but am rather shocked at all the additional charges P & O seem to have. I have booked a four day cruise on Pacific Encounter my first ever with P & O but with Coral Princesses arrival will be going on her first. The only extra charges on both Princess and Royal Caribbean are their Specialty Restaurants.
Thanks for watching and glad you enjoyed the tour. I would have to agree, other lines like Princess don’t seem to have as many up-charge options onboard. I think P&O have a fantastic onboard design and aesthetic but I agree that some of the offerings should be included in the fare.
Thanks for the detailed video!!! I am so excited for my first cruise next year on this ship. It was such a bargain too, I can't believe all the stuff that is included 🤯🎉
This looks awesome - I loved your tour - as I have a special birthday coming up we are looking at booking friends and family on the 25 July - 3 August 2024 cruise - I can't wait after watching this amazing video - thank you 🙂
Thanks Adrian. Great tour of the Explorer. We are booked on her in December around Tasmania departing from Melbourne. She looks so different from when we sailed on her around New Zealand which she was the Dawn Princess.
I am booked for the Barrier Reef 23rd September. Love The Pacific Explorer aka Dora. Was looking foward to being back on my favourite girl, but after seeing you video I am so excited.
Really informative.. thank you! We are booked for the end of July - Barrier Reef Discovery cruise. After watching this I’m really really really looking forward to it. 🙂🚢🥂🎉
What a surprise, The layout; interior and exterior of the ship reminded me of sun princess back in 2013, where I went for cruising the cruising for the first time with my mum. To celebrate my high school graduation. A bit of search and find out that this ship used to be part of Dawn Princess cruise.

We have been hanging for the days cruising returned. Also we have a Australia Day cruise booked on the Pacific Adventure. Which was cancelled 3 times bring it on.
What an Excellent Clip Adrian Pacific Explorer looks amazing the decor is sensational and plenty of meet up options for a drink or a meal , How where the cabins ? All in All Adrian awesome clip Cheers Anne and Ron
Thanks so much Anne, glad you enjoyed the tour. Cabins are a little dated, but the carpets have been refreshed. All in all, the public spaces are great and I would say the cabins are where you can see the age of the ship. Not that they're terrible, just not as good as the other spaces.
Great to see on board again. I like what P&O did with the décor when the conversion was made from Dawn princess. Not too many changes since we sailed on her in 2018. Like the ocean bar except for the bay window seats that are next to the conventional seating creates an issue with people pushing pass to get to the seat otherwise the ship looks good. Are you going to get the same opportunity on Coral Princess.
They did a pretty good job giving her a refresh. I’ll try and get onboard Coral soon - I have plans to be onboard later in the year but I’m trying to bring them forward.
Thank you for the tour, was excellent. My last memorable cruise aboard The Pearl, was her final voyage. I am so excited to be aboard The Explorer on the 28th August. Not far away. ❤😎
Thanks so much for watching. It must have been an epic experience to be onboard Pearl for her last commercial cruise with P&O. Enjoy your upcoming sailing on Explorer!

I’m looking forward to making the most out of this short getaway with experiencing it all!
Going this Friday for a 7day Tassie cruise including kangaroo island. It was great to see the layout of the ship, pool, cinema, shopping, tours and socialising 👍🏻😎
We’ll be on 9th July. Looks like a totally different ship to the Dawn Princess which we did a six week Japan voyage and then a 10 day voyage into the the Pacific before the pandemic. So excited, please don’t cancel!!! Looking forward to trotting around the promenade each morning and chatting with people who’ve been waiting as long as we have to get our cruise groove back on. Bring on the drink package and all will be sweet! Thanks so much for the great tour of the Pacific Explorer.
Thanks Jeanette, glad you enjoyed the tour! The promenade is one of my favourite spots onboard too, especially since so many new ships are losing them. Enjoy your cruise on the 9th!
My mum will be on that cruise too (along with some of her friends). I've been showing her some of these vids... She's only cruised Carnival and Princess before but she's really excited for the Pacific Explorer. She wishes her little son would come on her cruise as well but I don't got the annual leave to go.
Found the obstructed view room I should search properly before I ask I will continue to search Thank you for your response so quickly, we have only ever cruised Royal Caribbean but are thinking of P&O as they sail from Adelaide

Thanks Adrian you mentioned booking the restaurants before hand? Can you explain this a bit further for me. You virtual tour was so helpful thankyou. Regards Ann
Hi Ann, thanks for watching. Once onboard, you can use the P&O app to make bookings for any of the restaurants for any night of the cruise. It’s a great way to lock-in your dining times if you know what you’d like to do during the cruise. You can still organise restaurant bookings in person or via the phone from your stateroom, but it takes seconds from your smartphone and you can do it anywhere onboard.
I appreciate this video. I'm a sailing on Explorer in June. I was last on her back in late 2017 just after she made her way to P&O. So this "activation cruise", was this specifically for media and travel agents? I saw a news segments last week on TV and it looked like a normal cruise. They interviewed some kids in the arcade so I wondered if it was an actual sailing. I'm curious to know who went on this cruise.
Your cruise is almost here! There were mostly industry-people onboard. Carnival employees (P&O, Carnival AU and Princess etc) brought their families with them so there were kids around.
Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts on this ship. My family has booked a cruise from Fremantle to Broome in April 2023 and we are looking forward to it. My parents have been on this ship when it was the Dawn Princess, so they are eager to see how much it has changed. And the kids are keen to check out the water slides!
Looking forward to our around Australia cruise next June.
Fabulous!

How was it ? Was it all inclusive

She wishes her little son would come on her cruise as well but I don't got the annual leave to go.
was on Dawn Princess a few years back ..did a cruise aroundNZ and to Melbourne.....didn't even know that was a Princess ship before
Appreciate your in depth videos, but would love to see some stateroom layouts
Thanks for watching 😄 there are stateroom tours on my channel for Pacific Explorer and other ships.
@@TheCruiseandTravelGuy Thank you, found some but looking for an oceanview room
Found the obstructed view room I should search properly before I ask I will continue to search Thank you for your response so quickly, we have only ever cruised Royal Caribbean but are thinking of P&O as they sail from Adelaide

3 days and I'm there. Tribute to the King cruise, very excited 😊 🤗
Awesome! Have a fun cruise 🕺🏻
Adrian, fantastic Video and tips and well explained. Love Pacific Explorer on board 31st May so excited 🥂🍾👏🌹
Thanks for watching and glad you enjoyed the video! Hope you’re enjoying the cruise.
Thanks so much for watching Leanne. I’m sure the whole family will enjoy the cruise 🥳
Might meet up on the Fremantle to Broome cruise, travelling with daughter and son-in-law from Kingscliff.
