    It looks very nice. I didn't get the Amy and adept palette, but I did get this one but haven't tried it yet.

      I hope you like it, I felt a lot of shades looked repetitive on me but on lighter skintones you should see more variations in the tones.

    How you were so surprised and delighted by the Cosmic Brushes formula is exactly how I reacted when I first tried them! My second order included Muse, which has ended up being my favorite palette of all time. Not only does it have this amazingly good formula and it's affordable for such a big indie palette, but every time I open it I feel so inspired and happy.

    • @ColourfulIndian
      @ColourfulIndian  5 днів тому +1

      Yeah, it was very satisfying! I definitely want to get my hands on Muse. The palettes worked very well and I want to get better acquainted with the palettes from here 🤭 and the prices are excellent too for the shades. I did notice a few days ago that nearly the entire Cooltrals palette except for 4 shades says that they aren't safe for eye use according to US standards, so that did make me a bit concerned. I need to read more into that though. I happened to flip the cover over and saw the shades labeled. Would you have any input on that?

      @@ColourfulIndian I'm pretty sure the "pressed pigment" formulas usually contain ingredients that are safe for the eyes according to the EU regulations, and EU tends to be much more restrictive than the US. My understanding is that the US has older regulations in place and they are extremely slow at updating them (as in, decades behind Europe and Asia). Pressed pigments are more likely to stain skin, especially red pigments. I would search for "US pressed pigments regulations safe for use around the eyes" to learn more. Personally I use them anyway since I don't mind a little staining (which usually comes out with oil cleanser), but it's a confusing issue so it's also perfectly ok to follow the US regulations! One thing to note is that they aren't poisonous or dangerous, they are just categorized differently in the US from the rest of the world. Whatever makes you feel most comfortable. My guess is that the pigments that make the shiny and super bright eyeshadows especially made by indie brands tend to have to be labeled "pressed pigments" to be sold in the US. However I've also even seen that on mainstream brands sold at Sephora and Ulta, so it's extremely common.

      @@ColourfulIndian one thing to note is that I've only ever gotten staining from nomad palletes, I haven't had any staining or irritation from any others of the many indie palletes I love that have lots of pressed pigments. Using an eye shadow base definitely reduces staining as well.

    • @ColourfulIndian
      @ColourfulIndian  4 дні тому

      @oceanbird. yeah I always use a base, i don't mind staining (I did get a little staining from Cooltrals) but I'm more concerned about health issues since I have chronic rhinitis. I don't want this to affect me physically - I appreciate you giving feedback though 💕

    • @oceanbird.
      @oceanbird. 4 дні тому

      @@ColourfulIndian that seems like a perfectly reasonable concern. I'm not a doctor or a scientist so I can't give any advice about it, but your health definitely comes first! I'm not sure exactly what the ingredients are that get flagged by the FDA, but there is probably a list available on the Internet somewhere if you wanted to fall down a research hole 😔
      Personally, I have chronic allergies so I stay far away from anything that flares them up and I can see why you would want to be careful about it, especially if you don't know exactly what will cause a flare.
      Sending you lots of love, that sounds like a very difficult condition to deal with regarding trying out new makeup 😓

    I received mine yesterday so this video comes at the perfect time. It's even more helpful for me because I have a similar skin tone and it's my first time dipping into cool tones 😅
    Thank you so much for your review ❤
    Ps: At first glance, I thought it looked like an extended version of the Cradled in Ice from Fantasy Cosmetica (Î saw that you don't have it but maybe your dupe version might look similar). But I think you're right about the comparison with the amylovesmakeup x adept.

    • @ColourfulIndian

      My pleasure, I'm so happy I could help.
      I think you may be right on that, there are similar tones in my Cradled in Ice dupe. I didn't get that one but I plan to pick up a lot during Black Friday 🥰 I hope you enjoy playing with this.

      So I've tried it for the first time today and I did a variation of the 3rd look you did with fewer shades and it looked so good. The creamy shimmer reminds me of those in The Dollhouse palette from Blend Bunny. I think the last 2 looks are similar but one is a "happy" version of blue and the other one is a "dark" version of blue 😅
      I tried to use a dark blue matte as a base before going with a lighter shimmer and it looks promising, at least on my hand.
      All that to say, it looks so good on you that you can't get away with skipping the white base.
      I was about to pick the water palette from the Lethal x Avatar collab and now I think I don't need it anymore since those shades are fantastic 😍

      @@TraXs.I have the Amy Loves adept palette and this one from cosmic brushes. The Cooltrals isn't a dupe of Amy Loves because it can't copy the shimmers in the adept palette. Every single shimmer in Amy Loves is one of the most sparkly and special and beautiful that I have tried, but the mattes are just ok, except the blue matte which I love!
      This Cooltrals palette is way more expanded on the matte options over Amy Loves, and Cosmic Brushes mattes are way better than adept mattes, however the shimmers can't hold up to the adept shimmers in Amy Loves palette.
      I totally agree about the Cradled In Ice dupe though, that's why I was so excited about this palette! Cradled in Ice color story got in my head but I was hesitant to buy it because so many of the shimmers in it looked way too similar. I think Cooltrals is actually way better than Cradled in Ice because it has everything and more, and the Cosmic Brushes formula is just stunning and my favorite along with Blend Bunny. I'm so glad I got Cooltrals instead of the Fantasy Cosmetica!

      @TraXs. 10 днів тому

      @@oceanbird. I think there's a similar vibe in the color story but I would never compare the formulas, even more so if I've never bought a palette from Adept 😅
      I already tried the Fantasy Cosmetica formula and I would have gotten Cradled in Ice if I had fair skin (I'm not so there's no decision to take). I like that they do smaller color stories where you get harmony and variety (both in terms of depth of shades and formulas).
      The fact that they have fair pricing also helps to pick them instead of other brands (I like makeup but not enough to put 70€+ in an eyeshadow palette).

    • @oceanbird.
      @oceanbird. 10 днів тому

      @@TraXs. Totally agree about the pricing, I only have that one palette from adept and I bought it with a discount code during a sale. I've avoided buying anything from them before because the price tag is quite steep and I never saw a color story that I loved from them until the Amy Loves one. I'm still happy to have it because it's very special, but I likely won't buy more from adept, especially since the mattes are not that great. There are other ways to get special shades, like in singles, so if I'm spending that kind of money I want to be able to use and be amazed by every single shade! That being said, if I got that many shimmer singles from clionadh or terra moons it would actually be more expensive. For example, I got kiln from clionadh 2 years ago and it was $19, just for that single. Just looked it up today and they are charging $24 for it! 4 singles are the price of the whole Amy Loves palette, and only 3 of a special shade like kiln is actually more than that whole palette.
      Another reason I like Cosmic Brushes and even Blend Bunny is that more affordable price tag along with the incredible quality where I can count on every shade being excellent. And in the case of Cosmic Brushes, the 20 pans are pretty large, so it's still worth it to me even if I don't love every single shade.

    Great detailed video! I’m on the fence about out getting the Amy loves palette. If you had to choose between that one and cooltrals which one would you pick? I haven’t gotten either yet. I can’t decide lol

    • @ColourfulIndian
      @ColourfulIndian  7 днів тому +1

      I think this depends on the kind of shades you enjoy most and budget. Adept has more shifty shades and I enjoy that formula, however Cooltrals has less shifty shades and something I noticed this weekend was that the majority of the palette for Cooltrals is not suitable for eye use. I was pretty surprised about this! Only 4 shades are okay for eye use according to US standards. So just another thing to take into consideration. Colour story alone, I'd still go with Amy Loves.
