I’m really glad McGriff is in the HOF. His 493 homers match another great Lou Gehrig. I remember him retiring, before he could hit 500. He would have definitely made it, if he was signed in 2005.
McGriff was the perfect example of providing the missing piece for a championship team. The Braves had good hitters but not that one big-time threat that pitchers were afraid of pitching to - and who affected how pitchers pitched to the other guys around him. Without him, the Braves are the 1990s Buffalo Bills with no championships.
There was something so cool about guys just shaking hands after a walk off home run. Now you have these children throwing chocolate sauce and gummy bears and paddling each other like a pride parade.
I don't have a bit of love loss for oral herschizer, But when mcgriff hit that pitch I kind of felt sorry for the guy because there was no doubt about it
The fact that guys like Mcgriff and Andruw Jones and Jim Edmonds. I could keep going because there is a long list are not in the hall of frame is criminal. The voters should be stripped of their votes
it's an outrage that he's not in the HOF. He was very quiet, modest, a non-juicer. He was a huge contributor on great Braves teams that won a WS. There are zero reasons for him not to be in the HOF. Plenty of players in the 450-499 HR range are in the HOF if they had overall strong careers.
HE NEEDS TO BE IN THE HALL OF FAME
Yes, he absolutely belongs in the HOF. That veterans committee that got Harold Baines and Edgar Martinez in need to get McGriff in.
@@fuktrumpanzeeskum 100% agree with you
if tim raines made it why not crime dogg or dale murphy
He officially is!
@@BlurUK13 🙏🏻 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Are you kidding me 7:11...without even looking as he followed through on that swing?! Nobody does the windmill swing better than him😲
one of my favorite swing ever
FINALLY. McGriff finally getting in the HOF. Truly deserving. As always. GO BRAVES!!!!
He had one of the coolest looking swings ever. I loved the way the bat came back over his head.
Helicopter swing
Helicopter finish was dope

THE SWEET, SWEET swing of the legendary Atlanta Brave Freddie "CRIME DOG" Mcgriff.
The guy had a amazing swing I don’t think I’ve ever seen anybody swing the ball like that he was great never forget Fred mcgriff
People today get overhyped and wanna showboat. For McGriff it was just another day at the office. Not overly animated, no yelling, and no showboating.
I don’t know if anyone has told you, but you’re allowed to like both styles. It’s ok.
no gangma style lol
I loved his HR trot. It’s like he was saying “Aww shucks, guess I hit another one. Let me get these steps in now.”
He was a good first baseman too.
Just went about his business I loved watching him play
I love the sound of the ball hitting the pole the crime dog was the man he was an easy first ballot hall of famer
One of my favorite players growing up,, and played the game with honor
I miss this team SO much...

With those numbers, and that iconic mustache, it's unreal to me how long it took him to get into the Hall. Personally, I think it's a Crime, Dog!
I can't believe they still have not put him in after 10 year's on the ballot.
It’s official! He’s in the HOF!!!
Always wondered how Mchriff stood so far away from the plate, yet was able to have duch good plate coverage
Him and Chipper will always be my favorite braves players

😂🤣 I gotta agree with ya there
🤣omg
🤣🤣😭

No longer under-rated.
Being a Giants fan I hated him, however, being a baseball fan I admire him. Congrats on making it Fred, very deserved.

Man that one he hit off Orel was absolutely nuked! I’m so glad he’s finally headed to cooperstown!
1 of a couple favorite Braves. Then David Justice, Chipper Jones
its a travesty mcgriff isn't in the hall of fame. 7 consecutive 30 homerun seasons. .284 avg. 1500 rbi. absolute travesty

He made it y’all!!!!
I want to see the one he hit off of Tomme Greene of the Phillies in game 2 of the 1993 NLCS. It was a "mammoth"
That game is on UA-cam and you can find it
he made the ball echo
Shameful he's not in the HOF. More deserving of so many that are already in.
the Fire Dog, McGruff!
Padres always traded away good players 😔
Get this man in the hall
remember the radio booth catching fire & delayed game like few hrs, nobody hurt thankfully
I was actually there with my fam 30 years ago
My favorite of all time all sports!!!
Miller & Morgan! Good times!
Sweet sweet effortless swing with a twist
He’s not because of the 1994 strike.
Fair point.
Baseball shouldn't hold that against him.
I agree.
Thankfully people realized how stupid that is
Missed watching the braves games on tbs
he was clutch
The Crime Dog was the truth!!!
a true gentleman inside and outside the diamond take note millenials
don’t understand why he s not in the HoF
Crime was always a favorite of mine. Just real cool
7:11 hes doesnt even looked the ball
What a pick up 1993
Greatest trade braves have ever made
@@srvfan25 He was the missing piece! Gant, Justice, Pendleton, McGriff
❤ crime dog
It took way too long to get him in the hall.
he used to poo in the club house and not flush the toilet. that's why they call him crime bum
welcome to hall of fame
Boy dusty baker fucked up so many games for the giants the angels should've game him a ring
