Perfection...
Awww yeah! We're entering a new golden era of RPG's bois. Get your game on!
F*ck, this made me choke. ME energy all over.

This game is made by ex-Bioware Developers. Most of them worked on Mass Effect !
And after the fiasco that was Starfield's main quest, God knows how much we need of a good sci-fi universe.
Don't leave out 343, the creators of HALO.

Don't know what this is going to be like, but the trailer is beyond incredible. There's never too many good sci-fi universes.
Everything outside earth is all scifi in our universe

ya this and light no fire have really caught my attention
@@brassattacks2411 I think it's gotta do with the all female graphics team! Happy holidays to you and your loved ones! ❤️🧑🎄🎄🤘😎
@@brassattacks2411 mate, you should seriously reconsider what media you're consuming if you see stuff like that in places where there is none. It's really not that deep.
This is what the people who WERE BioWare have been working on all this time. This is James Ohlen and Drew Karpshyn have been working on while they put out great D&D books like Chains of Asmodeus as side projects.
Yea as if that means anything. People hyped over colantonio, delivered garbage. People hyped Obsidian, delivered trash. People are now hyping even Blizzard because they brought back an old timer. It's not gonna matter
Edit: people in replies are defending the mentioned developers by citing OLD good games they've made a decade ago under completely different circumstances. That's the entire point of my message. You can't expect the same quality now from them even though they made hits in the distant past. How about you cite an actually new game that would prove that they still can make them
@@zelassin What a ray of sunshine you are. So Neverwinter Nights 2, KotOR 2, New Vegas, Pillars of Eternity, The Outer Worlds, Pentiment, all trash huh?
what are you on about lil bro. Those games (except outer worlds) are the ones that are the reason these devs are being overhyped now. Those games are good yes. What i mean is, people now expect those people to deliver good products again 10 years later simply because they think it being the same people will change anything. But alas - Outer Worlds is very basic and unfinished, Weird West is mediocre, and i sure as hell know Blizzard isnt gonna produce anything good just because Chris Metzen returned to his post. People need to stop blindly hyping over stuff simply because it has some people behind it that delivered a good product a decade ago. @@BenTheoRowe
@@BenTheoRoweHe probably only played COD and FIFA his entire life lmao
@@BenTheoRoweWell, NWN2 was trash. But FO:NV and Outer Worlds were really great.
Drew Karpyshyn is back in the kitchen and is cooking up a whole ass buffet 🔥🔥🔥
Is he involved?
@@DeeDub02 yeah he's working in this company now since 2020
This is the best gaming industry news I have heard in several years. The lore he wrote for ME1 and ME2 is the best sci-fi I ever experienced.
@@seraphin01 Also the studio head is James Olsen who was the lead designer on KotOR and Dragon Age: Origins, and was also involved with the first Mass Effect game and Jade Empire. They also have a bunch of veteran people who used to work on Halo under 343

I know this is a cutscene, most likely CGI but still… when she says « I love you » and he stays silent, crying… the emotions you can read on their faces? Incredible, so realistic and genuine. Gorgeous. 🤩
That looks (very) promising. I’m curious to learn more about this new intriguing universe. 😊
The voice actor also made an incredible contribution to this. I can’t imagine how you can say “no” even more emotionally.
@@PurpleDaemon_ Agreed. Both VAs did an amazing job. 🤩

It's sci fi and fantastic, but still has a very human connection in the end. I love that so much.
Love the idea of FTL travel and different aging speeds having an impact on the story. Great trailer!
My guess it wont have any impact. Just a setting.
@@DelIsInYourMind On the game's website it definitely sounds like it will be a game mechanic. Hopefully that's the case on release as well!
I hate relativistic FTL. Give me warp drives and worm holes any day of the week.
@@DelIsInYourMind That would be my guess too. It's pretty hard to incorporate this concept to gameplay mechanic, but if they can do it. They'll have a new franchise.
For sure.

HUGE Insterstellar vibes when he's watching the hologram. I wonder if we'll get a "Don't let me leave Murph" type of moment.
Given the version of time travel they're using, I guarantee it.
Matthew McConaughey is one of the main voice actors so its definitely possible!
I've heard "check this or that out, it's just like mass effect" so many times since I've discovered my very favorite franchise, it was never even close, until I saw this masterpiece. Might have teared up with joy. (And sadness for Tom.) Amazing. Somehow these 5 minutes have struck all the right cords. Can't wait.

The voice for the character Tom sounds kind of like Liam Neeson.
I keep searching for something to fill the hole Mass Effect has left since I finished the 3rd game all those years ago. This is the only thing that looks like it might come close. Will definitely be keeping a close eye on this.
@@jeffschieber2594I noticed that too! 😂
The switch in the end was really nice. He went from a background character to Shepard in awesome way.
With that deep soothing voice, this guy is the next shepard character.
i remember the first time i heard of this franchise i didn't think much of it and dismissed it. yesterday i just happened to click on another youtuber's video explaining the setting and now i'm a very big fan. will keep close watch on this franchise. it has the potential to be absolutely massive.
Same here! When I saw the first announcement on the Game Awards I wasn't to impressed. Now since I've been learning more about the lore I've been hooked.
My favorite thing I learned so far is about the Celestials. Its a interesting concept to me that Humans separated by thousands of years evolve into various different Transhuman species to the point they consider regular Humans to be primitive. This is a cool concept to me.
I have the feeling that this game can finally fill the void that the Mass Effect trilogy left me with. Please be good 😢
The studio is owned by the guys inventing merry Mexican orcs! 😂
@@Dieter-Doeddel The studio is headed by people who got the "owners" to give them full creative control.

True, but the credentials behind this game are amazing. Hamilton, author of the Commonwealth Saga and the Void Trilogy, as a lead consultant for world-building and backstory creation. They Also hace full creative control on every aspect of the game, including release. This game is probably out in 2025 at earliest

Wizards of the Coast is also one of the most disgusting companies. I'm surprised they didn't force the actual good guys from old Bioware to make the black characters hideous. They are surprisingly good looking with good voice acting behind.
You know you have a well running future society when a senior curator is entertaining general tour groups!
All thanks to the guy distracting the ship, and going ftl.
This looks so amazing. I cannot wait. I teared up when Maxine told him she loved him, but he never knew till he saw the recording of her in the museum. Made by a lot of the same people.
OK so this is where bioware's mojo went. Really looking forward to learning more about this.
I'm an old gamer. for me computer RPGs started maturing with Neverwinter Nights.
not just a hollow adventure of a generic barbarian/knight/mage swinging a blade or hurling spells to complete a quest.
the way the story was handled was more personal to the player. and I will always remember Aribeth de Tylmarande.
after that games got more real. more in depth. more branching stories. culminating with gems like mass effect, DAO (just to mention some)
and now I'm finding out that the people behind the games I consider the true pinnacle of RPGs are making a space opera?
H3LL Yeah!!
go wild guys and makes us believe again that the genre can recover!
best of luck!
Looks quite interesting. Time dilatation effects from travelling too fast in space as part of the story bulding is nice. Usually space scifi games always find some scifi explanation for FTL travel not causing this.
Because the time scale grows to be massive without FTL travel.
This could be what Starfield wanted to be. BioWare had Dragon Age and Mass Effect and 343 under Bungie was HALO. I hope EXODUS releases in a reasonable time frame.
The reasonable timeframe is when its completely and entirely finished.
@@Stargazzer811 Exactly. No one here needs another unfinished game that just got unfinished to sell DLCs and microtransactions. Let Archetype Entertainment finish its job in peace, shall we?

The biggest influence is probably Apple's Foundation TV adaptation.

A space opera without FTL? I love it! Moments pass for the character while, decades pass for his love interest. Near complete time dilation!!!!
I really dislike relativistic FTL. It makes me sad to think of the vast distances of space but also time separating planets, cultures and people.
Give me warp drives, worm holes or hyperdrives or sod off. The only such universe I can even tolerate is RimWorld.
@@mirceazaharia2094
I think relativistic travel can be done well to convey the vastness of a setting. I really like House of Suns by Alastair Reynolds, where relativistic trips are usually "casual" (people use suspended animation a lot there).
You also stumbled on one of the advantages of not including FTL. The emotional impact. The massive, massive stakes that characters roll the dice on every time they accelerate to 99.9% c. Every decision matters. Every sacrifice is so much greater.
Maybe FAL: Fast As Light.
@@haydennoble9253 NAFAL, Nearly As Fast As Light. Sounds cooler, slightly more accurate.
I liked the plot! I liked the main Character design! Try to avoid cliche - be original as much as possible! We need good ADULT story! With a hard moral choices and consequences of that choices! And please without a "strong and independent" things and woke agenda! We all tired of this crap already
This looks fantastic! The only thing worrying me is that Archetype Entertainment is a subsidiary of Wizards of the Coast. If any company could suck the fun out of an IP, while simultaneously trying to suck as much money as possible from us, it would be Wotc :(
As a Mass Effect fan this looks great, interested to see how it progresses
As someone who's not a fan, I hope that the Mass Effect fandom gets a good game out of this.

Just wow! looks promising, can't wait for the release.
One thing is for sure, the characters in this game most likely will not be space idiots who were launched into deep space like in Andromeda. A very intriguing project... I hope old Drew won't let you down...
Since this is literally old school Bioware staff u can't tell me this isnt a challenge to mass effect. I hope this is the next great Sci fi IP. Hopefully they make companions lifelike
They made light speed an astronomical feat, in Mass effect travelling across the galaxy felt so small when in reality it is so vast, 400 billion stars vast.
It‘s actually wizards of the coast and hasbro owning that studio, so expect them to interfere and make it a crapfest.
Who wants to bet the museum tour guide is Tom’s son or grandson?
BRB crying 😭😭😭 This was an epic trailer!!
I think I've rarely been that hyped for a game. There are little bits of mass effect, some bits of the Expanse. Please take your time and hit the spot
Can you custom make the characters? Not gonna play or look as those ugly mofos
Thanks to the comments for making me watch the whole thing, I was spinning through it short on time but everyone was talking about the raw emotion so I watched it all and hot damn they weren't lying. Gonna give this game all my support since the creator was behind some of the best games I've ever played.
I'm just glad that Bioware 2.0 is alive and well. Finally!
Please lead us in an exodus from the recent, ridiculous, "body type" conventions in gaming and return us to the science of male and female that coherent fiction stems from.
Okay, this is giving me major Mass Effect vibes, yet a different vibe. I am excited for it's arrival.
Made by many of the same people.
Can't wait to see how many endings is possible in this game.
This flew completely under my radar. Didn't see the trailer before now, but I heard this is supposedly being developed by an independant team, mostly consisting of people that made the old Mass Effect game. I went into the trailer with that knowledge and man, you can immediately feel that. I'm constantly waiting for the mext Mass Effect game, but that is a completely different team and it's owned by EA. That has never really filled me with much confidence, but it's all I had, until now. I'm already more excited for this than whatever dumpsterfire is almost certainly going to be released by EA. Is there any release date yet?
This trailer is what shepard would deserve
Well....Color me Impressed! Hopefully it will have a full Male and Female Character creation. Reminds me of Mass Effect

That's a really timely typo. I too wanted a really good game on par with Mass Effect, not a badly made copy of it. You may as well call it Mess Effect, your typo was spot on.
This one trailer had better story telling than every game EA has made in the last 10 years combined.
You can totally tell this has Mass Effect DNA in it, and honestly I'm all for it. Makes sense when this is done by a bunch of former Bioware people.
