S-Bahn Hamburg 2023

S-Bahn in Hamburg is a unique german fast city railway utilizing both third rail and (in some areas) overhead catenary electrification system operated by german national railways, Deutsche Bahn (DB). In current days, only two main train classes are used to maintain the service. The BR 474/874 Plus class built by Bombardier/Alstom and the newer BR 490 manufactured by the same companies. Some trains are fitted with a pantograph so they can be used on routes with catenary (15 kV, 16 2/3 Hz). These EMUs are a fast and an effective alternative to Hamburg's Hochbahn (H-Bahn) network if you consider travelling throughout the city.
