I'd like to amend the first point: if spot A occurs at half the frequency of spot B but the pot in B is 5x the pot in A, I'd say focus on B. Basically, study the spots with the highest frequency x pot-size products

Sometimes I have got frozen by feeling completely overwhelmed by the options. Especially with gtow having so many fantastic tools. So for me organisation and time management are key

Are you only playing range vs range if your opponent is playing range vs range though? Or do you have to just substitute villians range as best as possible

It's easy to say "Do not try to memorize the frequiencies, try to understand". But what you can understand in Cbet spots when a lot of hands are betting in all sizes? Let's say some hand bets 50% for 75% sizing, 20% for 50% sizing, 10% for 33% sizing, and 20% checking in some certain postflop spot. And what you can 'understand' here? That this hand wants to bet big mostly. How this understanding can help you play GTO? Idk. You 'understand' this concept, and what you do with it when you are actually playing poker? Bet everytime 75% sizing with this hand? Because you remember that this hand wants to bet bigger. It will be wrong from GTO pov.

The way I approach this mixed spot is as following- first I try to realize what option the solver wants me to do. Second, against the specific opponent which strategy will generate more EV. For example if I am playing against a calling station I will pick the biggest size that I know is GTO, against some other players I might choose smaller bets

@@idopeer5963 it's actually exploit. In GTO we are talking about playing vs unknown opponents. I understand your approach, I'm using the same. Starting with my base game, then i adjust to limit i'm playing and then I adjust to my hud stats on exact opponents. But it's just my standard play not near any gto shit that we are talking about.

In the GTO software, who makes the action the villain or the hero? I get that there's not a lot of GTO pre-flop, but in practice mode you're getting dropped into a position and situation not knowing if you were the preflop aggressor or if it was your opponent.

Doesn't it tell you if it was a single raised pot, 3bet pot, etc? So you can just deduce from the position of the players involved in the pot

Burton vs blinds is definitely not the most common spot in live poker up to 5/10. It’s frustrating that nearly all content about poker is geared towards online play and assumes that’s the default.

concepts for either are generally the same. anyone who tells you they are not is not a very good poker player. and you shouldn't listen to them. obviously you have more of one type of info and less of another, but its relative. i assume what your talking about is 3 limps and then a min raise type scenarios that happen at 2/5 all day, well unfortunately multi-way poker isn't solved, so you provably should just play a theoretically sound strategy so that your not the one spewing money in bad spots. long term using a GTO baseline strategy will give you the tools to navigate those spots your seeing at small stakes a lot easier and while moving up you will be fundamentally sounds enough to play vs better players and not be the atm.
