Amazing podcast with a very interesting card, was very excited to get to work just to listen to this😂 i really enjoy all your videos I would love to see a video of yours discussing the playability of [Fleeting Reflection] is a very saw after card from Thunder Junction who offers untapping, protection and even copying another creature on the whole battlefield for just 2 mana even at instant speed, i'd included it in my Helga cedh deck and this card is an absolute swiss knife. Seeing a video of a card i requested really would make my day, thanks you so much!!
I really enjoy the podcast. You guys bring up a lot of good points on things, and have helped me re-evaluate some of my decks. This card looks terrible. 😅
I run this card in my casual Kroxa deck. This card says the opponent gets a choice, but in the decks that want this card, there is no choice. Feeding the graveyard in a deck that cares about that is simply not an option. It will be scry 2, draw 1, 95% of the time.
I feel like this would be funny in Yuriko where you try to manipulate the top for the Yuriko flip damage. If they want you to mill it, then you just blast them for big damage. 🤔
This card so reminds me of the risk factor problem where if it just milled a few cards or if it drew you a card each turn then it could be more easier built around. Granted, it's cedh where politicking is expected and saying "hey I need to grab a counter spell for x opp can I draw?" And u tuck ur combo piece under
Yeah I think you hit the nail on the head. You have to be in a deck that’s totally fine with either mode. Anecdotally speaking, once your past 3-4 influence counters, the damage starts piling up and you get scry 2 draw 1 every turn, since people aren’t ok with eating 10+ damage.
Essence Fracture: 2U, Sorcery, Return target enchantment an opponent controls to their hand. Artwork: An image of the night sky but it's cracking like glass. Flavor Text: "The essence, it's fracturing!" idk
The end step trigger helps it to happen the turn it resolves, which is great. However I don’t like that the damage mode turns off bc the opponent gets to choose.
It'll never become a cedh card simply because so many deck use the gy that people are always gonna just give you the draw after the second rotation. 3 mana draw 1 a rotation is just to slow. When there are much better 3cmc and less options. And for the scry to really matter you would want it down turn 1-2 but those turns you largely want to set up a more consistent engine. Or hold up interaction in case some one make a big play. The limiting factor honestly is just that its 3cmc. Drawing at the end of turn is also slow since you are hoping you make it to the next turn.
3 mana scry 2 draw 1 per rotation is a lot better than 3 mana draw 1 per rotation. If people are letting me scry 2 draw 1 every turn I think I’m super stoked.
@ThatsAGoodCard I think you are missing that this is a feast or famine type of card. Yes the being able to scry 2 then draw is great but seeing this any other time then turn 1 realistically maybe turn 2 is abysmal. It just becomes a dead card. I would compare it to a leyline whoch are also feast or famine type of cards. The but feast portion is so much higher because it comes in for free. Realistically the ideal hand for palantir is 1 land, mana vault, palantir then what ever you want. But my question is would this be the perfect starting hand you would be happy with in your cedh deck 10 of 10 times? Or would you rather see a different starting hand like being able to turn 1 a necro, rhystic, or one ring. Two are 3 cmc as well and harder to cast but people would 100% want them in opening hands. The ceiling for palantir just isnt enough

Added to our rec list! Thanks for the kind words :)

This is my favorite comment. 😂 yall always find a way to let us down easy!

I'm pretty sure that's Trent Reznor on essence fracture, thus proving im old enough to know that card.

Love this! Either everyone gets hit or somebody gets hit… no matter what you’re laying down the law!
Def a spicy choice…. Im intrigued but idk if im convinced

But when both modes are wanted, or if your an artifact deck then this is definitely a good bit better

Not even a tepid yes :(
Keep up the good work and ignore the haters on Reddit!
Appreciate the support!!! The haters drive engagement so I guess we got that going for us 😂
This is a bomb is casual for me at all levels. Curious to hear about it in cEDH.
it might be too quick of a deck for it to work but this might be great in yuriko just to double up on damage potential and draw

I'm actually so good at this game 👀
Wait you’re actually the goat. That was a very close guess!
Definitely a Yuriko card imo
@@zandertheg4931 I was thinking this too at first but I think after 2 turns they just let you draw.
essence fracture, 2 blue blue instant: put target permeant on top of its owners library
It’s blue and kind of a bounce??? Half a gold star awarded to you ⭐️

True, but you can read the room and know that your opponent won’t be milling, so you’re safe to scry looking for cards you want to draw.
Needed to cost 2
this card is really cool, i think ripples of undeath is just a lot better unfortnately.
Been loving that card in my korvold list.
@@ThatsAGoodCard Yeah its really neat! loved the video by the way :)
What patreon tier do I need for dark mode background on screen 🥲
I’ll think on how I could remedy this
