I have a 23 2500 cummins limted night edition, it was significantly more quiet when new, it got louder during break in, still very quiet and smooth. The exhaust brake is crazy strong, full brake for loads, and auto in traffic or decent on hills. I love the fuel milage.
Nice truck. Do you recommend buying a new 2023+?
The mirrors are permanently in moose mode
You said at first that the 23s are even less responsive than the 22s. Then you get in and say it’s more responsive than the 22s.
The way the mirrors sit just below the window strip kind of bothers my mild OCD a bit. I'm going to forever keep fixating that everytime I seen one.
Yeah those mirrors do look a little weird. Dig that color though and the stronger exhaust brake. Thanks for the video👍
There is a snap ring recall in the 22 and 23 trucks with aisin transmissions. I wonder if they are cutting boost ramps down in tuning to try and prevent it and keep if from becoming a class-action suit. Sound par for the course for stellantis.
The 5th thing thats different is the buttons on the steering wheel, never seen anyone point it out in any video. They use the same buttons as the 1500 now.
Sounds dumb but what oil are you running in your 22? I thought they changed the motor where they want you running 5w30 but that's too thin, and people running good ol 15w40 are burning them up as they don't reach the lifters and top end nearly fast enough
Did they ever fix the heater grid bolt that rust off and falls in the intake
Yo nice color. Which engine is this and which transmission is this truck equipped with?
Not a fan of the new mirrors I’m going to keep my 18 forever. I don’t tow a lot so mine stay down all the time
I just purchased basically the same truck last night and I do notice the power is not as responsive but at the bottom in it has a ton of torque which I tow almost 7 days a week approximately 15,000 pounds for the next probably four months I had a 2500 which I loved and it was so comfortable it did not have the high output engine but was quick but it just would not tow properly it would do the job but did not feel safe so I purchased this truck, the jake brake works awesome and it is definitely stronger, I will be towing today for the first time I have my fingers crossed I’ll be happy but it’ll definitely be better than what I had, my favorite one ton was my 2016 ram 3500 that was a great truck and then there’s the Dooley which for towing you can’t go wrong but my personal opinion on the Dooley is it’s a beautiful truck but in the slow season when I went to daily drive the darn thing it’s just too darn big so the short bed 3500 is my go to vehicle for all around, I prefer to put a lift kit on my vehicles nothing radical something like a Carly 3 inch lift with a tire that’s an inch wide or an inch taller than stock I prefer a little more ground clearance, and I have lots of hopes for this vehicle they are expensive though, and hard to get, Thanks for your review I’ve watched a few of your videos in the past👍🇺🇸🚜🚜🚜
Ram is achieving their goals- getting customers to buy new trucks and dump their “old” 2022’s.
did you end up buying the 23. i am about to order a 23 but it will be interesting to see what changes they make for the 24
i wonder if the they figured out the problems and fixed it for 23?
Please show two door work truck
Is this truck motor the HO
Nice looking and sounding truck. I keep looking for a base model tradesman but I can't find one with the black grille, bumpers, vinyl seats and floors.
Exactly what I was looking for as well, I factory ordered 1 December, expected mid May, can't wait. Forcing the chrome package and carpet with most options is lame.
What year cummins does everyone recommend? My pops is switching from gm. I have a 13 mega and it’s been a headache. His 14 seems to be good. Any particular year or years?
*preferred 2014+*
It's the illegal tune from the factory that just got them a $1.65 billion fine.
The real question, are they as nightmare ish as the 2022 model, because I definitely don’t want to go through what you went through with the 2022s
Are you talking about the one engine failure where some bolt rots out and kills the engine?
@@gamepro94z i think that was it yes
Isn’t there a recall for that already?
Hey Paul, you do alignments to Thuren spec on your trucks? I can’t find anywhere that will on a dually.
Yes. We nearly zero out toe and roll with it
@@pddieselpower about to put some Mickey Thompson Baja Boss AT 255/85/17 on in a couple weeks, may have to swing by Spokane to get an alignment.
Nice Buffed up Fiat Panda you have there the switches are identical :D
Paul did you notice how you can no longer get a mega cab big horn? Laramie is the lowest trim you can get a mega cab now
Laramie, longhorn, and limited can get the mega cab
Perhaps less sound insulation on the interior where you can't see it.
I’m willing to bet it’s because tradesman and he gets higher level trim.
I consider that too but I have 3 2022 tradesmen crew cab Long bed configuration
I get a 2014 or 2015 used diesel truck
I wish you would’ve drove a little bit so we can see the difference on exhaust break
Where to get more honest reviews on these trucks Only from you
no door ram logo
vin is not on the door
I like the new mirrors, Laramie and Up come with both sides dimming as well! First HD trucks to have both sides i think
Ram still looks the same!!! I guess they don't have lots of money like Ford?
Matco @ 1:15 👍🏼
I have a 22' 3500 single cab dually with the H.O and Aisin just about to hit 5,000 miles on her and no problems so far. With that said you've definitely got me worried with my truck seeing as your having some major issues with your 22's not sure if I should think about selling and ordering a 23?!
I’m just sharing my experience with you all…
@@pddieselpower Well hopefully il have better luck with my 22 then your having haha... Its a hit or miss with these new trucks which sucks because there so damn expensive. Keep up the good work always love watching your vids.
@@joekinabru4156ya i also have a 22 but mines a 2500 with the SO so hoping for my use on the farm and not pulling daily that she’ll do fine i do drive her an hr each way to work 4 days a week hopefully thats enough for the pesky exhaust
Hopefully the difference is that the 2023 does not lunch engines at 100k.
This one doesn’t have the hood scoop either
Steering wheel
Thinner and more expensive, Crap quality. The frame is weaker
its a st base
In one sentence you say “more reserved” in another sentence you say “more responsive”!?? Is the 23 more responsive or more reserved?!!!
I had a 21 and just purchased a 23. The 23 is way more responsive. Not sure what they did but it feels like a different truck.
Hey Paul… I was wanting to see if y’all could haul a skid steer from fla to ms?
If so, can I get a number to call?
Still need it transported?
@@Nelsonauto thanks for checking… got it hauled last week
Those mirrors to bulky.
Hey Benny!
Computer not my thing
You Russian ? Pavel ?
Time to buy a new f450 with the 10 speed and forget about that fiat junk😂
